The trust’s stakeholders are more accessible to it, mainly the departments and other role players in the community where en-gagements in planning are invalu-able. The trust is local and has a di-rect impact on the monitoring and evaluation of projects within its ope-rational demographics.
There are two main types of retail FX brokers offering the opportunity for speculative currency trading: brokers and dealers or market makers. Brokers serve as an agent of the customer in the broader FX market, by seeking the best price in the market for a retail order and dealing on behalf of the retail customer. They charge a commission or “mark-up” in addition to the price obtained in the market. Dealers or market makers, by contrast, typically act as principals in the transaction versus the retail customer, and quote a price they are willing to deal at.
Currency and exchange were important elements of trade in the ancient world, enabling people to buy and sell items like food, pottery and raw materials.[9] If a Greek coin held more gold than an Egyptian coin due to its size or content, then a merchant could barter fewer Greek gold coins for more Egyptian ones, or for more material goods. This is why, at some point in their history, most world currencies in circulation today had a value fixed to a specific quantity of a recognized standard like silver and gold.
Look at a country’s trading position. If a country has many goods that are in demand, then the country will likely export many goods to make money. This trading advantage will boost the country’s economy, thus boosting the value of its currency.
Currency trading and exchange first occurred in ancient times.[4] Money-changers (people helping others to change money and also taking a commission or charging a fee) were living in the Holy Land in the times of the Talmudic writings (Biblical times). These people (sometimes called “kollybistẻs”) used city stalls, and at feast times the Temple’s Court of the Gentiles instead.[5] Money-changers were also the silversmiths and/or goldsmiths[6] of more recent ancient times.
Overall, lower volatility in forex trading means less risk in the global economy than in past decades. Why? Central banks have become smarter.  Also, the forex markets are now more sophisticated. It means that they are less likely to be manipulated. As a result, dramatic losses based on currency fluctuations alone (like we saw in Asia in 1998) are less likely to happen.
The meeting was attended by dif-ferent stakeholders that included the municipal mayors from Gamagara, Joe Morolong, Ga-Segonyana, the John Taolo Gaetsewe district and broader members of the community.
Long-term trends: Currency markets often move in visible long-term trends. Although currencies do not have an annual growing season like physical commodities, business cycles do make themselves felt. Cycle analysis looks at longer-term price trends that may rise from economic or political trends.[77]
Even without outright price fixing, traders can create asset bubbles in foreign exchange rates. It may have happened with the U.S. dollar in 2014 and also in the last quarter of 2008. A strong dollar makes U.S. exports less competitive. It slows GDP growth. If traders bid the dollar down, then oil-producing countries will raise the price of oil as oil is sold in dollars. The impact of expanding forex trading needs to be better regulated in order to avoid potential bubbles and busts.
The STC acts on behalf of and is guided by the community’s frustration of living on the doorstep of opportunity, but has been un-able to access such. When the STC said that they will intensify their campaign, they were serious. This should however not be con-strued as some kind of threat to anyone. The STC will not be intimidated with threats of legal action and interdicts. The STC remains a law-abiding political party and will apply legal methodology to heat up the atmos-phere. One way they could possibly intensify the campaign is by rolling out smaller, but more frequent demonstrations, with fifteen bodies or less. They do not need to give notice to the local authorities about a de-monstration, but as courtesy they informed the mines that there will be daily demonstra-tions.
According to the Bank for International Settlements, the preliminary global results from the 2016 Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and OTC Derivatives Markets Activity show that trading in foreign exchange markets averaged $5.09 trillion per day in April 2016. This is down from $5.4 trillion in April 2013 but up from $4.0 trillion in April 2010. Measured by value, foreign exchange swaps were traded more than any other instrument in April 2016, at $2.4 trillion per day, followed by spot trading at $1.7 trillion.[3]

Why is volatility lower? One, inflation has been low and stable in most economies. Central banks have learned how to measure, anticipate and adjust for inflation. Two, central bank policies are more transparent. They clearly signal what they intend to do. As a result, markets have a lower chance of overreacting. Three, many countries have also built up large foreign exchange reserves. They hold them either in their central banks or sovereign wealth funds. These funds discourage the currency speculation which creates volatility.
During the 15th century, the Medici family were required to open banks at foreign locations in order to exchange currencies to act on behalf of textile merchants.[10][11] To facilitate trade, the bank created the nostro (from Italian, this translates to “ours”) account book which contained two columned entries showing amounts of foreign and local currencies; information pertaining to the keeping of an account with a foreign bank.[12][13][14][15] During the 17th (or 18th) century, Amsterdam maintained an active Forex market.[16] In 1704, foreign exchange took place between agents acting in the interests of the Kingdom of England and the County of Holland.[17]
