For purposes of this guide, we are going to do a detailed walk-through of setting up and using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and then follow along with the steps in this video.  The whole process of getting a wallet setup, downloading your miner, configuring things in Windows and setting up your batch file to run should take less than 10 minutes:
Step 2 — Mount the motherboard. After your mining case is set up and ready to go, you’ll need to mount your motherboard to the rig so that the bottom of it is protected from damage. My wooden rig included some spacers and screws for this, so it was pretty straightforward. I laid my motherboard on the wooden case to make marks for the holes with a pen, and then placed each spacer above the marks.
As for the ultimate rig I guess that depends on what your after it may be any of the following: Looks nice, Hash rate per computer, Hash rate per dollar, Hash rate per electrical cost/heat, resellability, or general usefulness beyond a single cryptocurrency. How much you’d “Weight” these things is somewhat a personal matter. So I don’t think there is any objective “best”. I can say that for what i personally care about this is the best that is out there, it may not be true for you though.
For example, if you have a 500 GH/sec device, and it’s taking 400 watts of power, then you’re getting 1.25 GH/sec per watt. You can check your power bill or use an electricity price calculator online to find out how much that means in hard cash.
WeTrust (TRST)- Found only really on Bittrex and a few smaller exchanges, this coin has Vitalik, Bo Shen and the CEO of Open Bazaar on their advisory board with a bunch of brains from google making it work, with their RASCA peer to peer lending product launching shortly.
Bad job Tom’s. Just add fuel to the GFX card debacle. Irresponsible and just wrong. First the user must go out and OVERSPEND on a GFX card and then follow this article and start mining and increase the shortages even further. Hm, good job Tom, good job.
Hi Vincent, Well, I would suggest that the best place to start is GPU mining. Check out our Mining Guides section for articles on mining Ethereum and Zcash as these are both good coins to mine with a GPU. A good coin to mine with CPU is Monero, although we don’t currently have a guide to doing that directly (we do have one for mining it through websites but this isn’t as efficient). Only free software and free membership to a pool is required to start mining. GPU mining will lead to wear and tear on your card, yes, the… Read more »
Skycoin is the cryptocurrency of Skywire. That means Skycoin has a practical application more than simply acting as another digital currency. The way Skycoin works is this: you pass something along the Skywire network, you earn Skycoin. When you need to access the bandwidth yourself, pay via Skycoin. It only takes seconds to send and receive, with thousands of transactions per second.
For all still new to the experience of the Aether (be it Aether I/Aether II) to get to the Aether you must make a 4×5 portal frame (yes, it is limited to 4×5) using Glowstone. From there a water bucket is needed to get the portal going and from there you are ready to head to the Aether.
On Step #3, make sure to take a look at your actual electric bill and check what your kilowatt rate is. It can vary wildly depending on where you are and make a huge difference in your own profitability.
Solo Mining – Solo mining means its you against the rest. If your hash is correct you win the block reward. But with a rig of 60 MH/s and a network hashing power of 1.2 GH you aren’t going to get ether very often. The other issue is you have to download the blockchain for yourself. See our guide here on how to solo mine ethereum.
Problemet med de modeller er, at de bruger NiCd genopladelige batterier og de batterier, der hørte til er gået i mere eller mindre oplysning. HP skriver i manualen, at man kun bør anvende dem med strømforsyning når der er isat et batteri. Ellers risikerer man ødelæggelse.
Hence, it is reported that Ethereum is changing to Proof of Stake framework later in this year, in which mining of ether is irrelevant and works on Consensus algorithm different from current Dagger Hashimoto algorithm.
“Mining Ethereum is really complicated and I wanted the simplest solution. Luckily I found CoinMiner who sent a rig to me 1 week after ordering and all I needed to do was turn it on. Fantastic system and I’m planning to buy more.”
And since new Ether will likely no longer be created by mining, it could mean that existing holders of Ethereum will benefit disproportionately from the process of proof-of-stake due to their ability to put their existing Ether to work at a larger and faster stake than newcomers (this mostly applies to retail investors and not institutions with large amounts of capital).
Good info on crypto mining. I tried doge coin mining a couple years ago but could not get it to work and the payout for dogecoin was so small that I lost interest. Since joining Steemit I have considering trying again. I was thinking about Litecoin. Not familiar with Ether. There are so many cryptocurrencies now it gets confusing. But if it is possible to mine $200/ day, that would be life changing for a lot of people.
Have a question in regards to the CPU, since some coins can be mined via CPU, what would be the consequences to have a good CPU and also mine something with it while the GPU´s also do some mining, then i would get some extra mining power? or am i thinking wrong here?

Hi, You don’t need any kind of extra PSU and the PSU does not matter.. For FTW you need extra Splitter which you can find here – http://www.parallelminer.com/product/18awg-pci-e-6pin-to-dual-8-pin-y-splitter-extension-cable-2x-62pin-cable-6in-each-side/
I’m sure just a few years ago people expected that BTC, and LTC would be the primary coins representing the Cryptocurrency markets, but it’s interesting to see that (as of writing) LTC is still only worth $180, whereas Bitcoin is over $11,000. Some have argued that LTC should be worth at least 1/10th of the value of BTC, which would mean that the currency is undervalued because it would need to be worth over $1,000 to make that true.
Today, yes it’s still profitable, but the question if you started today is can you break even before difficulty, god, time bombs, price drops, etc bite your ass. Yes other coins might just take over when need be (look at monero lately just about overtaking ETH profits).. But they also might not. I’d 100% tell a hobby-miner to hop in if he has the cash and wants to learn.. But dropping 20K is a gamble for sure.
and there are many other things such as bios modding and overclocking cards to improve watts and hashrate. Also there are fees when mining such as pool fees and mining program fees etc. lastly the 8k to start in the video is way off for 50 cards your looking at more like 14k and that is not including psu, motherboard, ram, ssd/hdd, cables, risers, cpu, cooling, etc.
The Radeon R9 295X2 is currently the most popular GPU when it comes to mining Ethereum. It offers a hash-rate of 46 MH/s and is the industry leader when it comes to hashing power. The R9 295X2 consumes a power of 500W. This GPU is in high demand and tends to get sold out as soon as it goes on stock. It comes with an 8GB GDDR5 RAM.
This is great info. I’ve just built a mining rig, and I’ve written up a post on how I did it. The post focuses on building the case, not software or which components to buy. http://blog.timwheeler.io/building-an-ethereum-mining-rig/.
Clearly Litecoin miners are coming online, and they’re coming online en masse. Many of these are undoubtedly Bitcoin miners switching over now that GPUs are no longer cost effective, but some of these systems are probably driven by new miners.
Electricity Rate – Operating a Bitcoin miner consumes a lot of electricity. You’ll need to find out your electricity rate in order to calculate profitability. This can usually be found on your monthly electricity bill.
i can see the leaves became windy, but i dont know where did i do wrong, but the screen went black and the only place i can see is at the bottom left of minecraft client with a few message such as invalid program final, mind helping?
