Ethermine is a high-performing ether mining pool and is a direct successor of the ethpool.org. This miner offers the same level of service and efficiency as its predecessor, ethpool.org but makes its payments via the traditional PPLNS mode. In ethermine pays instantly and individual miners on this platform will receive their ether as soon as they attain the set payment threshold.
Ethereum is currently the second largest cryptocurrency in the world and not only is it growing quickly, it’s also becoming more widely used. Ethereum is projected to grow tremendously in 2018 and mining is a great way to generate passive income.
You may have noticed that NVIDIA cards were predominantly absent from our top, and there’s a good reason as to why – in their quest to make their cards as powerful and efficient as possible, NVIDIA left out pretty much every feature they did not need, optimizing their cards and chips to the maximum. While this worked out superbly when it came to gaming (NVIDIA’s GTX 10 series is lacking competition almost completely), it did not make NVIDIA cards notable candidates when it came to mining performance, as AMD cards tend to have more raw power that can be effectively used in mining.
In fact, a group of companies and universities has formed a nonprofit expressly to legitimize Ethereum; promote it as an open-source platform and not a commercial enterprise per se; and develop and support those applications that run on it. And these are not rinky-dink startups — we’re talking about major technology players like Intel and Microsoft and financial behemoths like JP Morgan and Credit Suisse.
Some settings should be modified in Windows to get you ready for mining.  First, you don’t want your computer to go to Sleep as it will interrupt your mining so go into your Power Settings and set it to “Never” turn off/sleep.
First Choice Nvidia GTX 1070 –   The very efficient Nvidia GTX 1070  can produce a hash rate of 30Mh/s using only 100 watts of electricity and is the best GPU for mining in 2018. It is much more power efficient than most of the AMD cards available on the market. My favorite model of this GPU is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC (model # GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD). It has a twin fan design and seems to run cooler than some of the other 1070 models I’ve tested, so I put this card in all the rigs I build currently. If that specific model is unavailable, any of the twin fan overclocked Gigabyte or EVGA cards work great out of the box.  You can also check eBay or find other recommended mining GPU’s in my mining GPU comparison guide.
If your break-even time is 0 you have likely forgotten to input your hardware cost below. If it is never, your break-even time has been calculated to be greater than 10 years. This likely due to a large diff change value which causes your predicted profitability to turn negative in the future. You could try lowering the diff change for a less agressive prediction or disable it altogether.
Going back to the analogy of real-world mining, in cryptocurrency mining you can use different tools to find the gold, so-called mining software. Each mining software has evolved over the years, but some have developed more than others. The primary contenders for Ethereum mining are Claymore and Genoil.
There is no doubt regarding the efficiency of AMD cards, and the Vega represents the latest in AMD GPU architecture. While the standard air-cooled Vega series runs a little too hot for serious overclocking, this special edition, with a bit of tweaks and work on overclocking, allows you to reach 42 Mh/s hashrate, while the power consumption will be lower than 300 W! This feature represents an amazing value and makes this card a perfect Ethereum mining hardware! The Liquid Cooled Edition can match the overclocked performance of Nvidia’s Titan Xp, but only costs half the price.
Dwarfpool – The last of our top performing Ethereum pools is Dwarfpool (https://dwarfpool.com). Dwarfpool uses a RBPPS payment method (round based pay per share), which is based on the PPS method. Autopayouts are done hourly and they guarantee 100% uptime due to their distributed infrastructure. Dwarfpool makes up about 13% of the network hashrate.
Ethereum mining can be incredibly lucrative, if you have the proper hardware to do it. You can’t just use the same computer that you use for everyday activities like watching YouTube or sending emails. You need a computer with a high powered graphics card because mining for ether is very time consuming (on your ethereum mining hardware) and on your electric bill.
worst article ever, get your fact right, you state different speeds for the same card (RX vega 64) and clearly you dont have a clue, i mine with rx580 and my hashrate its 30 with bios mod and propper patched drivers for mining
The rest of this guide focuses on the hardware side. For further help setting up an Ethereum wallet, join a pool, and use your miner. These steps are detailed in our beginner’s guide to mining Ethereum.
Reasonable Minimum Payout – This is especially important if you only have one mining rig, since you don’t want your payout to take potentially a week or more of mining to arrive in your account. Most Ethereum mining pools payout when the mined amount accumulates up to 0.05 – 0.2 ETH.
The various different mining pools have different payout schemes, including PPS+ vs PPLNS. These determine the method by which your contribution to the pool is calculated, and ultimately how much money you get. It is important that you understand the payment scheme before you get involved in a pool.
If you decide to join a group, then it is important to choose the right group that meets your mining expectations, as well as understand the different payment methods and how they will affect your earnings.
If you are looking for a solid Ethereum mining hardware, then the Titan cards are something you should look into. GeForce Titan Xp impressed many miners. The large amounts of VRAM are supplemented by an excellent hash rate without too much expenditure of power. Same as RX Vega 64, its top-end AMD rival, this card can be overclocked up to 42 Mh/s, but it will consume 300 W when pushed that hard. On the other hand, the RX Vega 64 achieves a very similar performance but for about half the price.
Selecting this option will show the Sell Monthly field below, this is where you input what portion of crypto you would like to sell each month. For example, if you plan to sell 25% of your new crypto, enter 25 into the Sell Monthly field. Your profits will equal (money earned from selling) + (unsold crypto * predicted price) – (total expenses + hardware costs)
The quality of the equipment would also play a role. E.g. if you buy the cheapest versions of either a 1080ti or a 1060, they’re going to be more likely to fail. Is it more cost effective to buy more-robust GPUs at a higher price that will last longer? Or is it better to keep replacing cheap ones more often? Difficult to answer, since GPU prices are crazy.
After pulling in all three different inputs, you can now start changing the inputs to see how your calculator profits change. In the “Summary” tab, play around with the inputs to see how the yearly profit changes from different hardware and energy costs.
Form factor: ATX | GPU Support: 13 | Processors supported: 7th and 6th Generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron (Socket 1151) | Slots: 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16, 12 x PCI Express 2.0 x1, 2 x DDR4 DIMM
Ethereum is an open blockchain platform similar to Bitcoin but with additional in-built flexibilities. With Ethereum, the blockchain can be considered to be intelligent thanks to the Ethereum Virtual Machine and Smart Contracts. Whereas with Bitcoin it’s a glorified ledger.
I finally made my decision to build middle ground between fun and profit. I bought some things I wouldn’t have bought if it were solely for profit. For example I purchased a rather nice open air mining case. That added about $100 to the build.  I could have easily made that from scrap wood. I also bought a Noctua silent CPU cooler to reduce the noise to a level I could live with.  I did feel the best GPU for mining in my case was the NVIDIA GTX 1060 because of its low power consumption, super low price, and decent hashrate. I’ll make plenty of money on it, but its also a nice machine and showpiece in my office.
Open Notepad and create a file called genoil.bat with the following text, in the same folder. These settings will optimize your mining capability and launch the mining itself. Make sure to replace the pool and wallet address by what you’re using. If you’re Solo mining, then replace the last line by using the command “ethminer.exe -G”.
A miner client which is the point of this guide. We’ll go through the best miners below.Always make sure to have a trustworthy ETH Wallet. These are services that work pretty much like any other type of virtual wallet, such as PayPal. MyEtherWallet is a popular choice nowadays where you can deposit your earnings.
6x USB Riser Cables –  USB Riser Cables – These are to connect the 6 graphics cards to the motherboard and allow spacing between cards for heat dissipation. These are necessary when building a rig with this many GPU’s.
Step 2: You need to unzip the GETH file and move it to a location on your hard drive. In this case we’ll move it to the hard drive, usually (C:) – which will make the next step easier. All you need to do is copy the file you have downloaded and unzipped and move it to the hard drive folder.
Cloud Mining is profitable. I do invest into cloud mining for about 1 1/2 years now. Mainly i use Hashflare as my mining income, be sure to check them out. They generate me about $80/day and i’ve only invested $4,500. You won’t have to put in that much tho. Hashflare is giving you a one year contract with any investment you make, that means any money you invest will bring you profits for 1 year. Any money will do fine, here is some example math:
