I am selling a 68 GPU Mining Rig. Have listed it once, but was out of the country so I am listing it again now that I am ready to sell. The rig has been mining since October, warranty on the cards is still good until August. I am moving out of Canada hence the need to sell. The entire farm is composed of 6 rigs each with 12 cards, (68 total). If all the rigs are mining it currently pulls in roughly $4500 CAD/month with a $500 CAD power bill. This is without overclocking. None of the GPUs have been overclocked yet. I would be willing to sell each rig separate (1 MOBO 12 GPUs), or all 6 rigs at once, all 6 rigs are built onto 2 metal frame racks that will be included with the sale of 3 or more rigs. Email me with questions and to set up a time to meet. Transaction can be any major crypto, but ethereum is preferred. Parts listed below.
While Mark’s encounter with bad actors left him relatively unscathed, Rahul, the Stanford graduate, suffered a much greater loss. In December, 2013, he spent a couple thousand dollars on an ASIC to mine bitcoin. Within the first three months, he mined what was at the time worth $10,000, he says. (According to CoinDesk, the price of bitcoin during that time averaged around $800.) Confident that the price would rise, he purchased another $10,000 of bitcoin with his own money and placed all of his holdings on Mt. Gox, then the largest and most trusted bitcoin exchange in the world.
Take the online notebook described in “What is Ethereum?”. The network would not come to consensus about the ‘state’ of the notebook (say, if a note is added or deleted) without the computational power to process the changes.
Mining is a computationally intensive work that requires a lot of processing power and time. Mining is the act of participating in a given peer distributed cryptocurrency network in consensus. The miner is subsequently rewarded for providing solutions to challenging math problems. It is done by putting the computer’s hardware to use with mining applications.
According to Morgan Stanley estimates, miners today earn roughly $1.76 each day in profits per each GPU owned. That’s up from 56 cents in October. Those figures assume the miner owns an AMD Radeon 580 and pays roughly 70 cents per day for each GPU’s electricity.
Kevin Loo, co-founder and chief strategy officer of CryptAM, a Hong Kong-based digital asset manager that offers funds that invest in cryptocurrencies to clients outside the city, also agrees that ethereum has a bright future.
Today, that same GPU earns a thousandth of a Bitcoin in 24 hours, generating little value while consuming a substantial amount of power. The shift to ASICs for Bitcoin mining mirrors the shift from CPUs to GPUs, but the market isn’t content to just turn those mining rigs off – not when there’s an alternative currency available for which ASIC miners don’t exist.
The creators of the Aether seemed to understand this, and they decided that players should get a bit more defensive during their time in this new world. One of the biggest advantages players will find after entering the Aether is that they’re given access to poison darts that they can aim and shoot at their adversaries. And if you get all cofused with all the new things a mod adds to the game, just use the TooManyItems Mod to sort all the things and have them by your fingertips. Anyway this is a pretty big improvement over weaponry elsewhere, and it’s a welcome addition to a world with so many dangers and external threats.
I personally use a few GTX 1070s for mining ethereum.  I can undervolt them to use only 105 watts and speed up the memory clock just a tiny bit to pull right at 30 MH/s.  I was able to buy a couple of the EVGA hybrids which use an awesome watercooling system, and they hold up very well.  Be warned that if you want to get into ethereum mining there is a little bit more knowledge necessary.  Its not as simple as purchasing an ASIC miner and plugging it in.  There are sourcing issues as most GPUs are scarce to find, limited to purchase quantities, and overpriced at today’s demand.  Then you need a bit of knowledge in building computers to get everything going, but I’ve found that the best bundles are from GPUSHACK, so you don’t have to search high and low to get all your parts.  Then you need to figure out how to build a rig to support them in a way to promote heat dispersion and airflow for temperature control.  Plus the fact of tweaking your settings constantly to get the least possible power consumption with the highest possible profit return.  I don’t know if my passion comes through my post as it does in real life, but to me its actually more fun building the systems than running them.  You have to start somewhere!
The initial price you pay will determine how long it takes for your card to pay for itself, based on your mining profits. This formula will pinpoint your Return on Investment (ROI): Coins earned minus electrical costs and other costs. The ROI is usually expressed in months. Prices should be considered rough indications, since they’re based on the current Amazon prices at the time of writing.
I have been following this article and built a machine using a Radeon RX460 (Gigabyte 4GB) on an Gigabyte GA-AM1M-S2H motherboard using a 460W PSU before trying a pico, and have installed all the relevant latest drivers.
Absolutely. We have made this software in an effort to demystify the world of cryptocurrency – anyone at all can use this system. It is entirely web based and does not require a download to be run on your computer. This means you can access it anywhere, even on the go!
I am a newbie in crypto currencies knowledge, but I wanted to ask ppl with more experience in the mining world a few questions. I have a decent amount of capital on hand to buy/rent a warehouse. I would also be able to buy 20k so worth of hardware to mine with. How profitable is mining for ethereum? I’ve had many ppl (with limited knowledge) tell me it’s nearly impossible to turn a profit nowadays. I’ve had others tell me it’s highly profitable. If it’s not profitable why would ppl still mine it lol? Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙂

About two months ago, hedge fund billionaire Michael Novogratz made a bold announcement: He’d put 10% of his net worth into digital currencies including Bitcoin and Ethereum. But a lot can happen in a couple of months. Specifically, the price of Bitcoin has more than doubled, and the Ethereum price has multiplied six-fold.
This website is intended to provide a clear summary of Ethereum’s current and historical price as well as important updates from the industry. I’ve also included a number of ERC20 tokens which can be found in the tokens tab at the top right. Prices are updated every minute in real-time and the open/close prices are recorded at midnight UTC. According to the organisation, one key benefit of the system is to allow organisations to send payment directly to contractors without the need for intermediaries, while Ethereum monitors the delivery of each stage of a contract.
Okie so I finally got it all working perfectly fine. SEUS v11.0 was extremely laggy even dialing down everything i couldn’t Didn’t speed it up in the least. So I came back tried SEUS v10.1 Standard and it work completely fine and it looks so beautiful. ? I’m like always stopping and ooo Ahhh. Lookie Ron. n-n’ lol Anyways love it and glad I did decent for a first couple of tries,
Mark figures the university owes him, anyway. “The only thing that I’m concerned about is if somebody at MIT comes after me for unnecessarily using their electricity, which I think is kind of silly considering how much it costs 2 to go here,” he says. James Spann, a sophomore at the Rochester Institute of Technology who also mines crypto, echoed Mark’s reasoning: “The electricity and internet are part of the tuition.”
Miners perform solving of computationally complex problems and are rewarded Ether in return for their effort, time and processing power of their computers. Its basically like how you used to play video games and after winning each level, the next level gets unlocked. Similarly, the game here is mathematical puzzles and new levels are blocks in the blockchain.
I assume your gaming rig is Windows based? If so, Claymore runs on Windows as well. Setup is basically the same, and you’ve already go the drivers. Just grab Claymore and execute it from the command prompt.
If you’re not already handy with computers, Linux/Windows scripting and command line, hardware troubleshooting, know how ethereum works, and can wait 2+ months to get the possibility of breaking even on your hardware purchase, you’ll get more for your money and time by focusing on learning how cryptocurrencies and trading work and perhaps invest some money (but only as much as you are willing to lose) and start trading it.

Would absolutely trade it for mine. BUT to be the ultimate ethereum rigg the 10% more hashrate doesn’t count to the higher buying price. On the other end, your fury cards hold their value where the 290’s are about to become worthless. Second hand I found 290 for about €100, 113$, 44 eth. earning itself back in about 50 days (without calculating power)
I was wondering if you could help me understand the relationship between the Ethereum client (e.g. geth, parity) and the Ethereum mining client (e.g. ethminer). My naive guess is that they communicate somehow over JSON-RPC, and the former manages the whole blockchain whereas the mining client just provides it with work to do. But I’m not sure I understand what the value of ethminer is, and why there are two separate elements in the mining stack. How would you explain it? – William Apr 28 ’16 at 17:35
Crypto mining has become a divisive issue. Miners gobble up popular graphics cards by the armful, depleting inventory and driving up prices. Gamers are left to pay exorbitant prices, sometimes as much as double, even for mainstream GPUs. A little animosity between the two camps is therefore understandable.
The growing interest in home mining is inspiring companies to cash in as well, including SMS IT Group, a Los Angeles company selling mining rigs. Scott McCarthy, the company’s CEO, explains that they “can’t build the rigs fast enough.” It’s no surprise, when some home enthusiasts claim to make hundreds of dollars per month, and given that the rigs do all of the work themselves.
Considering that I don`t need the miner to do anything else than just mining (is not my pc), what do you think is the best software setup starting from scratch, to make sure I use 100% of the miner capabilities (so best operating system, best mining software, if I need drivers, GPU`s managing software, mining pool, etc)?
A mining RIG for Ethereum is not economical. It is necessary to make a considerable investment to build a good team with a high hashrate that will generate a good amount of ether a day. These equipments are nothing more than graphic cards connected in a motherboard that allows breaking down the data blocks as fast as possible.
It isnt exactly that ROI isnt an aim. Remember my post says the ultimate Ethereum rig, not the ultimate Crypto mining rig. I designed it to mine Ethereum, and only Ethereum, as best as possible, that is it. To do that one must consider that PoS is just around the corner. If it takes a year that means anyone building a rig right now is building it to mine for a year and then not be able to mine Ethereum anymore (then it goes on to whatever the next use might be for that user).
There is also work being done on Ethereum, which may move it from a “proof of work” to a “proof of stake” set-up. If this happens, it will result in an exponential rise in block difficulty that will make blocks virtually impossible to solve.

  1. Sidenote: If mining isn’t your thing, and you are just interested in purchasing some cryptocurrency as part of your investment portfolio, I personally use and recommend Coinbase. I would also recommend keeping your coins safe using the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. This hardware wallet supports all the major cryptos including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Ark, Expanse, ubiq, Pivx, Vertcoin and Viacoin. Did I miss any?
When it comes to mining for digital currencies, home computer rigs require ample processing power. For this reason, many people venturing into this pastime are building separate rigs to mine for currency on the side. This way they do not interrupt their usual computer habits.
