The bitcoin mining software is what instructs the hardware to do the hard work, passing through transaction blocks for it to solve. There are a variety of these available, depending on your operating system. They are available for Windows, Mac OS X, and others.
Let me put it another way. A computer running a single R9 290 would have about 22.5% the mining output of this rig. Since this rig cost about 3,200$ that means for the single R9 290 computer would need to cost a total of 720$ USD or less to be more cost effective. After you buy the 290 graphics card you wouldn’t have enough money left over out of 720$ USD to buy the rest of the parts needed for the computer.
The Radeon R9 295X2 is offering the highest hash power (46.0 MH/s) of the Ethereum GPUs on the market. This GPU will cost you around $600, however there is almost none available in the market. On eBay Asus Radeon R9 295X2 is being sold for $1100 – $1800.  The daily power cost of Radeon R9 295X2 GPU is about $1.44. The Radeon R9 295X2 has the cost per MH/s of $13.04. This model of GPU will provide you a return per year of $586.43.
This is called cloud mining. It has been happening for a long time with Bitcoin and a number of reputable providers have come to the where you can trust their reputation for them not to run off with your money. This is especially true of Genesis Mining who are the first to set up a batch of Ethereum Mining contracts where all you do is pay them some cash and your up and running as an Ethereum miner – as simple as that – no hassle no playing around with downloading Geth and using command prompt – and most importantly you don’t have to maintain it yourself which can be a big issue if you have to keep going to restart your computer. So it saves your time!
I think is better to install Linux onto this 60GB SSD and then install Ethminer software rather than installing Windows since space is so limited for that SSD ( Windows 7 or 10 may take almost all of the space).. and this also will give me an option to install another mining software for another crypto-currency later on, rather then installing EthOS…just for Ethereum…What do you think about it?
This means you won’t be able to use a mining rig for other tasks, but it does mean you’ll be getting the very best mining results thanks to the best mining rigs being designed to eke out the maximum return when running.
Now if you’re interested in other crypto-currencies, you can optionally download the MinerGate client that gives you an easy to use GUI. The reason why we’re not using the MinerGate GUI is because it doesn’t detect my eGPU housing the RX 580. The RX 580 will be the workhorse of the setup theoretically so it’s important to make certain that we’re using it whilst mining.
It’s rather rude of you to call someone dumb. What’s worse is you yourself can’t type well. “he Never even released a version for it yet your being scammed”. Wow, you broke the English language. never*, *take out the ‘even’*, *dot after ‘it’, Yet*, you’re*, old*, etc… If you’re gonna be a butt instead of simply saying something along the lines of “This is an old version guys. That’s why you’re all having bugs.” at least make sure you yourself are better than what you’re accusing everyone else of being.
Ethereum’s Ethash algorithm is one of many algorithms designed for optimal mining on GPUs. Generally speaking, a GPU is good for mining all GPU-mineable cryptocurrency (including Ethereum Classic, Monero, Zcash, and Vertcoin). This situation gives GPU miners enviable flexibility, in order to be able to switch between over 40 coins that are based on their current profitability.

First we will sign up with MinerGate. MinerGate is known as a digital mining pool where other digital miners connect to in order to use their collective computing capabilities to mine for various crypto-currency. I am not recommending MinerGate over any other mining pool. For our purposes of being able to easily connect to a mining pool via our software setup, MinerGate allows for a simple setup process that will get us going quickly.
NO! when a GPU is made, it has a RANGE of power it operates (example 80% to 120%) but it comes generally in AUTO, what you need is to find the Minimum Power it will operate Stable… will give you the same performance tho!
After confirming the setup is working, then it is logical to slowly scale up by adding more graphics cards and machines steadily over time using the profits generated as proof that more is possible with more power. While I would not start off spending much without any proof I could actually set it up correctly, after confirmation that I could indeed build a mining machine that worked, I would be motivated to build more.
Hi Jerry, I watch most of your videos. Thanks so much. I am already mining Ethereum and a few other cryptos. Today, with a rig that cost me EUR 2.600,– to build, I have a revenue of EUR 28,–/Day and EUR 5,–/Day electricity bill. Check out my configuration here: https://steemit.com/cryptomining/@lucky.digger/a-test-rig-that-cost-me-eur-2-600-to-build-costs-5-electricity-per-day-and-has-revenue-24-per-day-is-that-a-business
Som CyberPowerPC Gamer Ultra, denne Acer Aspire T AT3-715A-UR11 har en velnæret AMD RX 480 GPU. Men dens Intel Core i7-6700 CPU nemt gæster CyberPowerPC. Dens i7 er overkill for Ethereum minedrift. Men RX 480 leverer en høj hash sats.
The good news is that getting started with Ethereum Mining is now easier than ever.  You do not need to download the full Ethereum blockchain, which is now over 20+ GB’s and still growing!  You also do not need to manage clunky command line miners with manual instructions.
Sidenote: If mining isn’t your thing, and you are just interested in purchasing some cryptocurrency as part of your investment portfolio, I personally use and recommend Coinbase. I would also recommend keeping your coins safe using the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. This hardware wallet supports all the major cryptos including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Ark, Expanse, ubiq, Pivx, Vertcoin and Viacoin. Did I miss any?
Bitcoin and Litecoin prices tend to move together; Bitcoins stratospheric leap over the past month – it’s down from a high of $1200 (£730) but trading at $870 (£530) as I write this – has created an odd situation where it’s easier to mine Litecoin and then convert LTC to BTC, than it is to just mine BTC to start with.
A Radeon RX 470 has a modest hash rate of 24.0MH/s. Its power cost per day is exactly the same as the Radeon RX 480 at $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $9.13, giving it a return per day of $1.15 and a return per year of $418.16. Radeon RX 470 will cost you $219.

Also I have my doubts of PoS the way it was described. So I suspect there will be some transition and issues with it at first which may delay its adoption. The way it was described is that it would require you to put your money in an account that you couldnt withdraw from with a 4 month waiting period and with only a 1% interest rate.
Sapphire R9 290X is high-end gaming GPU.It has core clock speed of 1130and mem clock speed of 1200. It uses the ethash algorithm to mine ethereum. It will cost you about $$$ and has the hash rate about 32Mh/s.
I ask since the core of my own work is sharing information among autonomous agents and I suspect our pursuits might end up being extremely complementary in addition to your mixture of interests being very interesting in its own right.
Step 4: Optionally modify the description. The setting Miner host should be “Local” to run the mining on the local computer. To run on another computer, click the “New” button and specify the host where Awesome Miner Remote Agent is installed
To others who are reading this comment, this tutorial is for a single slot miner. A single slot miner has an overall lower footprint, both in terms of power draw and overall cost, compared to a multi-GPU miner. They are cost-effective only for those who want to get their feet wet since the cost of entry is fairly low.

Aether theories (also known as ether theories) in physics propose the existence of a medium, the aether (also spelled ether, from the Greek word (αἰθήρ), meaning “upper air” or “pure, fresh air”[1]), a space-filling substance or field, thought to be necessary as a transmission medium for the propagation of electromagnetic or gravitational forces. The assorted aether theories embody the various conceptions of this “medium” and “substance”. This early modern aether has little in common with the aether of classical elements from which the name was borrowed. Since the development of special relativity, theories using a substantial aether fell out of use in modern physics, and were replaced by more abstract models.[2]
(Lest anyone doubt the present frenzy among cryptocurrency traders, a popular Reddit thread points to a newly created website shouldisellmybitcoins.com, which generates a “No” response in the form of a different amusing Gif image each time anyone clicks on it.)
Admittedly, we jumped onto the Ethereum bandwagon quite late. By the time I started this build, the value had dropped dramatically, dipping below $200. Meanwhile, the mining difficulty hit a record high of 1200 TH that same week. The days of massive profits and overnight riches are behind us, but we set out to determine if mining Ethereum is still a profitable endeavor.
Case – Coolermaster RC-942-KKN1 HAF X 942 USB3.0 Case. $179. Hard to get now. 14.35 kg 230 (W) x 599 (H) x 550 mm (D), 1 x 230 mm fan, 1 x 200 mm fan, 1 x 140 mm fan. The 200 mm fans move about 100 cubic feet of air per minute.
PCIe Risers — What are the best PCIe risers to use for mining? In my experience (and I’ve asked around about this quite a bit to professional miners), you’re best off using the Ver. 06C or Ver. 007 6-pin to SATA PCIe risers that you can find on Amazon and other retailers. Don’t cheap out on these — get some good quality risers. This is one area of your rig that will most likely fail at some point, and if that happens, you don’t want to lose a card or have a wire catch on fire.
Now, you’re all set up. Good for you. I bet you thought you were going to be mining more bitcoins than the Federal Reserve prints dollars, didn’t you? Sadly not. You will stand little chance of success mining bitcoins unless you work with other people. You can find out more about that in our upcoming guide on how to join a mining pool.
Profitability will be spread out some, but have faith and never overspend what you cant get back. We will provide a costing spreadsheet on our next episode drop, this will allow you to keep taps on B/E. Working on finishing the API calls for difficulty/pricing.
Choose the Wattman tab and scroll down until you reach the entry for Voltage Control (mV). From within this menu, you can reduce the voltage. However, keep in mind that your GPU draws a different voltage at each frequency. Personally, I use a 100 mV undervolt at each frequency. So, for STATE 1 through 7, I reduce the voltage by 100. The lowest it can go for the RX 480 is 800, so you’ll notice that the first two entries are at 800:
