@AlBoKa Thats more than half of profit. Good thing ether is not as power hungry as other coins. You can downvolt, downclock and still minor decrease on hashing speed. Just find the sweetspot. Happy Mining.
Step 10 — Get software up and running. I’m going to save this for another guide entirely, but after you get all this hardware set up and connected, you’re going to need to get your software up and running. If that’s EthOS, then you simply throw that OS on a USB stick, plug that into your rig, power things up, and press whatever key on your keyboard will let you choose your boot drive. It’s F8 on many motherboards. Then select the USB drive that has EthOS waiting to be installed, and follow the instructions. It’s a similar process for Windows 10, but like I said, I’ll leave this for another guide.
To make the Aether Portal you must have glowstone which is made from glowstone dust. To make an Aether Portal, you must have at least 10 glowstone blocks; 14 glowstone blocks if you want the corners, or 18 if you want the standing place shown with the picture above.
The same thing applies to Ethereum. The only way to utilize Ethereum is with the product from mining. However, mining Ethereum means more than increasing the volume of Ether in circulation. It is also necessary for securing the Ethereum network as it creates, verifies, publishes, and propagates blocks in the blockchain.
CPU — Now, what is the best CPU for mining Ethereum? That’s a much easier question: get a cheap CPU that works with the slot on your motherboard. If you’re going to get one of the above motherboards, chances are you’re going to need an Intel CPU for slot LGA 1150. Unless you plan to use your rig for something other than mining, you should just get a budget Intel Celeron CPU to keep the cost of your rig down.
People I’m helping setup rigs and such are trying to go full bore right now and are willing to pay these insane prices for cards. They ask me what I think and I just say setup what you have and keep scouring for deals but don’t overpay. They won’t likely listen to that, but I also don’t want to be the person who said no and then somehow this GPU shortage causes difficulty to stall and the price skyrockets on PoS rumors or some weird super profit scenario.
I’m running a rig with EthOS and is smooth learning, but im building a new miner with 6 RX 480 or 470 dono yet, if i buy windows 10 (feel that will give me best customization abilities on the cards).. could i install it in multiple rigs…i mean 1 copy… you can direct message me of just agree for a yes! cheers and thanks in advanced
In total, I have 17 graphics cards that could work for mining—11 cards with AMD GPUs, and six cards with Nvidia GPUs. Unless you’re a hardware hoarder who never sells older parts, you probably won’t have such an advantage. A build like this wouldn’t be free for most people, but we’d wager a few of you have some semblance of hardware sitting anyway.

Kevin Loo, co-founder and chief strategy officer of CryptAM, a Hong Kong-based digital asset manager that offers funds that invest in cryptocurrencies to clients outside the city, also agrees that ethereum has a bright future.
AMD RX 580, men gør Xtreme Gamer S630 det bedste bud som en Ethereum minedrift PC. Desuden finder du to gratis PCIe x1 slots.
The bitcoin mining software is what instructs the hardware to do the hard work, passing through transaction blocks for it to solve. There are a variety of these available, depending on your operating system. They are available for Windows, Mac OS X, and others.
Elsewhere, online communities have formed in which users provide each other with tips on building rigs at home. Doing so circumvents the markup by companies selling pre-made rigs, but also requires additional maintenance and upkeep, as well as substantial knowledge.
And if i do install Claymore Dual Miner onto Linux OS, is this software only good for Ethereum mining ? If i want to mine for another crypto currency, do i need to install another software on Linux OS for that ??? Do other mining software available for Linux OS ?
So with no other alt-coins and no GPU PoW, your options are to try and sell on a depressed market, or to actually realise the actual comput value of having kickass super computers in your lounge room.
I use this version: 0.9.41-genoil-1.0.7 Beta for Windows. I would like to try another client if its possible. Is there another client than ethminer? I would like to try another one because he crashed a a lot.
Nonetheless, Ethereum is reportedly switching to a proof-of-stake framework later this year, which means Ether mining could no longer be relevant. Take in mind, that this could also lead to a significant increase in Ethereum price.
There is not a direct relationship between GPU temperature and heat output (it also depends on the cooling solution). There is a direct relationship between power draw and heat output (they’re equal). R9 390(X) are going to heat up your room significantly more than a 480.
Eventually, however, Novogratz believes there will come a time when investors are better off getting out of cryptocurrency entirely — though it’s likely still a long way off. “I sense that this blockchain, Bitcoin, Ethereum, ICO revolution is going to be the single greatest bubble of our lifetime,” he predicted. Of course, when that bubble pops, it’s probably a perfect time to buy back in.
I need help, I got optifine to reduce the lag, and I also have THIS shaders, I set them both up to work on one profile, but when I try to join a server, it just flashes constantly ‘Logging in…’, and it flashes the menu rapidly when I try to play a survival world… Help?!?
As mining requires a lot of computing power, Ethereum mining pools are much beneficial in terms of acquiring a lot of ether. In mining pools, miners come together to pool their resources and then mine together.
AS THE bitcoin price continues to fall, sceptics have started to wonder what will happen to the industry underpinning this digital “crypto-currency”. Around the world, hundreds of thousands of specialised computers have been built to create (or “mine”) bitcoins and, in the process, validate transactions and protect the system. How does bitcoin mining work?
Also you are completely missing the point on why it is free to run a miner in winter. It is still free EVEN if you pay for your electricity. Think about it, lets say you pay 200$ a month in electricity to heat your home (based on how many kW hours you use).. Then you buy a ethereum miner that costs 100$ to run per month and also heats your home. That means you will need to spend 100$ less on yoru heater to heat your home and 100$ more on the miner. That means if you count your miner as a “heater” you are spending exactly the same amount to heat your home as you would if you didnt have the miner. What you are missing is the fact that a computer is just as efficient as an electric space heater as a space heater is. So even if you pay for your own electricity a mining rig is FREE to run in winter.
Please note that ALL Mobs are Pitch Black and so are Signs. You can not read it at all, And mobs are completely black. No idea what is wrong with the shaders but when I removed GLSL Shaders my game works fine.
GPU: It’s up to you to choose what graphics card you want to mine with. Do your homework. How much is it. How much power does it need. How fast is it in terms of its hash rate. The GPU must have at least 2GB of memory, AMD cards are best to use and AMD GPU driver 15.12. This Mining Hardware Comparison list is very helpful. http://62.212.74.86/~mining/list/
I’ve been a member of the Bitcoin Code for only 47 days. But my life has already changed! Not only have I made my first $100K, but I’ve also met some of the most incredible people in the process. Thanks, Steve!
It would be very power inefficient since you’re multiplying the power requirement overhead to run the rest of the system. But I love experiments. Try running it and see how it does. Linux will report all OpenCL compatible devices ( can’t remember the exact command line for it right now ) so if you explicitly call Claymore and tell it to work with a given device, it should try.
Here in brazil, the prices are abusive, but the power cost is very low, at least 19 Cents a watt. Total Hashrate of the project, 52MH’s. In the past months, i’ll go for more, buy at least 4x RX480 Custom. Maybe in US, they will cost 230-250US, here, 1400-1700 BRL.
Having been in the mining game for a bit under 3 years now, I can promise you the “fastest” rig is not always the best mining rig. If there is one thing I can pass on it’s that the volatility with value over long periods is what affects ROI more than anything, and the safest bet is to get ROI as soon as possible so that if/when the value drops, you don’t end up underwater chasing your ROI incessantly. If the value drops significantly, but you’ve made ROI, then you can still mine at a small loss and speculate or simply shut down the rig during non profitable times–if the rig has paid itself off, you have these options, whereas when ROI is still on the table, you are very much limited.
When someone is selected to validate a block (or, in some cases, propose a set of transactions that should be added together as a new block), they stake some of their crypto on their proposal. Users would be chosen as the lead to validate a new block on a pseudo-random basis, weighted by the amount of crypto they’re willing to stake.
