If you want to mine Ethereum, you will need the following: Ethereum mining software and hardware, an Ethereum mining pool, and the Ethereum hardware wallet. Let’s be practical and discuss one thing at a time.
Now do I move my rig around with me, no. But do I put it in the one room I spend 80% of my day, then yes. Meaning keeping it always running, and my heater turned down is the end result. Second, not sure where you get this notion that all space heaters have strong fans that blow on them. The VAST majority do not. In fact many homes here have water type radiators that simply pump hot water into a metal block and it radiates heat, no fan needed or involved.
Also space heaters are considerably more effecient than central heat (assuming both are electric), and a gpu miner is equally as efficient as a space heater. The reason being with central heat you must heat the whole house and get less control over focusing the heat in the areas used by the house. Even when you close vents a lot of heat tends to leak into unused rooms. With a space heater you can place one in every room and only heat the rooms you care about, or occupy at the time. In that way you use MUCH less heat with a space heater or mining rig than you would with central heat. Even if you want to heat the whole house it will be almost the same since you’d presumably also have your mining rigs spread out throughout the house to heat it effectively, one in each room.
Awesome beginners build guide for an energy efficient mining rig! I have read through it several times and finally purchased the parts you recommended. However, I am not sure what power brick/adapter I need to get to maximize the potential of the picoPSU you recommended: https://www.amazon.com/Mini-Box-picoPSU-160-XT-Power-Mini-ITX-Supply/dp/B005TWE6B8/ref=as_at?creativeASIN=B005TWE6B8&linkCode=w50&tag=mak041-20&imprToken=jre1Yx45yo8HG1jqJ7Y0zw&slotNum=0

One of three things is going on here, either the person really does not know what they are talking about (e.g. hashrates for RX 400 & 500 series, the R9 only coming in 4gb, etc), or they are advertising for Nvidia, or they are attempting to get a sell off for AMD cards. I don’t mind because I have been able to get some good prices on AMD cards lately with one guy even saying that he was selling cards he just purchased brand new in December because their technology was becoming obsolete. Probably read this article and took it… Read more »

Gamers and computer enthusiasts upgrade their systems more than just about anyone. Motherboards, CPUs, and graphics cards sitting around after an upgrade are the perfect starting points for a hobbyist mining machine. You’ve already paid for these components and extracted value out of them. What’s more, you know their history and how well they’ve been cared for, which isn’t necessarily the case when buying discount used parts on eBay. With sufficient leftovers, you should be able to cobble together a competent mining machine, even if it’s not terribly impressive.
Mining originates from the gold analogy of the cryptocurrency sphere. In simple, cryptocurrency mining is a process of solving complex math problems. “Miners” are people that spend time and energy solving these math problems. They provide the solution to the issuers, who verify it and reward the miners with a block of Ether. Intuitively, an increase in mining difficulty means it becomes harder to solve complex problems, and therefore to fewer rewards. We’re at a current peak in Ethereum difficulty due to its very high demand and popularity.
When there isnt a long time line to do much more than break even and perhaps a little extra your thinking has to change. Now if you want to make a generic cryptominer, honestly, your probably better with ASICs or something. But this build, and post, was never meant to be about generic cryptominers.
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if this company entered the top 10 in trading volume this year but what else is interesting is that despite ETH exceeding others expectations on price increases, it may just be the beginning for what we can expect from the currency that is certainly rivaling Bitcoin itself.
Naturally, these problems, if left unsolved, jeopardize the future of Ether, hence making any Ethereum price predictions for 2018 problematic. So the question is this: will these issues find solving? Or is a new currency going to come to light that doesn’t have these problems in the first place?
GPUs were the next available option for miners after noticing that the CPUs were becoming slower with each given day. They realized that the energy consumption of graphics cards was quite high, and so they could be used to mine Bitcoins. AMD GPUs are actually the best in this regard.
Now choose a processor to use. Depending on how your system is configured it may be possible to achieve the same mining rate with your graphics cards regardless of processor used. However, any wasted CPU cycles may be allocated for additional off-GPU mining or other system tasks. Check the mainboard section to ensure system compatibility.

Now you’re talking about difficulty increase of 100%, which with this rate is easily going to happen before summer, might even be by march. Hopefully price will increase as well, but at some point we’ll be seeing a saturated market (especially once ETH goes PoS), so your prediction here is that 12-18months payback period. While i’d not speculate more than 6-8 months in the future. Because we can’t possibly know what will happen once PoS happens.
As with any overhaul texture pack or general shaders pack, it is highly recommended to run Sonic Ether’s shaders on a computer than can handle the graphical overhaul. While these features are beautiful and realistic, older computers may have a hard time keeping up with the vast and vibrant graphical changes.
Over the Christmas season, an unknown threat actor released the working code for the router exploit used by the Satori botnet. Researchers predicted the release of the code for free online would result in copy-paste botnets, and this prophesy seems to have come to pass.
Although, technically, you can setup your MacBook Pro and eGPU to mine some crypto-currency, does it mean you should go through the bother of setting it up? No, probably not. If you re serious about mining crypto-currency the you’re much better served getting hardware that will optimize your return. As of this writing, eGPU enclosures via Thunderbolt 3 will not give that to you. However, if you simply want to give mining a try-before-you-buy then seeing how comfortable you are with the setup on a Mac is a good place to start as a learning experience.
We are in some African area we have low electricity $ <0.02 you are welcome to discus about to move forward, by the way i can also get my won rig, still i have some $k over for small investment… Have any idea? let's talk!! Disclosure: Mining equipment metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 234,245 GH/s and using a ETH - USD exchange rate of 1 ETH = $ 738.07. These figures vary based on the total network hash rate and on the ETH to USD conversion rate. Equipment cost can vary, block reward is fixed at 3 ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.12 per kWh. hash rate varies over time, this is just an estimation based on current values. Litecoin confirms transactions faster (every 2.5 minutes, rather than every 10 minutes for Bitcoin) and it contains more coins – 84 million coins will be found in total under the LTC protocol, as opposed to 21 million for BTC. Riser Cables: To use the PCIe x1 slots on your motherboard, will need to buy PCIe x1 to x16 riser card extender cables, it can also be used on the PCIe x16 slot. It's also great to give your cards some space from each other. I would recommend buying 1 or 2 extra ones, because sometimes you'll get one that doesn't work. Looking for the most affordable Bitcoin mining hardware? Here is one for you. Released in December 2014, this device is a bit outdated but will work best for those who are looking for ways to save. Its power consumption is 590-watts, which makes it a good choice to those who are keen on conserving power. With a hash rate of 1.155 TH/s, this Bitcoin miner can create about 0.05 Bitcoins in one month. [redirect url='http://foreigntradeexchange.com/bump' sec='7']

  1. The most expensive component of the whole team is the GPU’s. Mining has created a strong demand for these and today they are a bit scarce. If we can achieve them without problems, assembling a three or four GPU’s RIG mining equipment would require an investment of approximately € 1500 / € 2,500.
Please note that ALL Mobs are Pitch Black and so are Signs. You can not read it at all, And mobs are completely black. No idea what is wrong with the shaders but when I removed GLSL Shaders my game works fine.
If you want to get fancy you COULD get a water cooled rig or system… but you would pay more and it wouldn’t be worth it in terms of TIME/PROFIT, COST/PROFIT, COOLING/PROFIT… it would be better for the GPUs, they would feel more ‘confortable’… but they wouldn’t run any faster………

You keep talking about higher electricity costs. My electricity costs are 0$. I’ve been running server farms out of my house for over a decade, enough to heat my entire home. I have not had to run my heat once in that decade and my electric cost in winter is EXACTLY the same as it was before I started running a server farm.
