Step 6 — Mount and connect GPUs. This is likely going to be the trickiest part of the actual hardware assembly, but it’s not that bad. First you need to take out all of the risers from their packaging, and assemble them appropriately. The PCIe 16x part will connect directly to the bottom of the video card, which connects to a USB cable, which connects to a PCIe 1x piece that connects to your motherboard. You can connect this 1x slot to the 1x slots on the board, and also the 16x slot. However, for the 16x slot, be careful to place the 1x piece in the correct direction. The below image depicts the correct placement.
You have to do your math… you have to know what are your power requirements for your GPUs and How you’re going to connect them… (for example: you can fit 3-4 Polaris GPUs, RX 470 or RX 480 if you Undervolt them. Plus the Motherboard+CPU+etc…). And you have to check for the Power Connector on the Cards to see if your PSU also have the same power Connectors to feed the Cards Properly!
To others who are reading this comment, this tutorial is for a single slot miner. A single slot miner has an overall lower footprint, both in terms of power draw and overall cost, compared to a multi-GPU miner. They are cost-effective only for those who want to get their feet wet since the cost of entry is fairly low.
For what it’s worth, certain GPUs require the DAG to be uploaded in chunks. You should search on the forums with the name of your card to find if this solution has worked for other users running the same hardware.
3) Choose a memorable download folder for the “Ethereum Wallet” zip file. Extract it with a suitable file extraction tool, navigate to the new folder the extractor creates and then locate and run the Ethereum app.
While Ethereum mining does not consume as much energy as bitcoin mining, it is necessary to have a powerful energy source. The power of the same will depend basically on the number of GPUs of the equipment and the power consumption of the same. For example, for a device with six NVIDIA GTX 1070 cards, a power supply of at least 1200W would be required.
On Dec. 6 last year, for example, hackers penetrated NiceHash, the platform that introduced Mark to mining, and whisked away 4,736.42 bitcoin, worth more than $60 million based on the day-of price. Mark had returned to NiceHash after mining ether, but fortunately only lost roughly $300 of unpaid bitcoin. He immediately switched to using a different cryptomining marketplace. NiceHash froze its operations for two weeks.
We are required to tell potential investors that our software’s past performance does not necessarily predict future results, therefore you should not speculate with capital that you cannot afford to lose.
Just sub’d, thanks for this video. I finally registered @ Kraken and am waiting verification. Like many, I missed the Bitcoin boat back in 2010 and I don’t want make the same mistake with another potential, because I was all over BTC back then but completely buckled due to lack of brass balls, lol.
Profitability decline per year – This is probably the most important and elusive variable of them all. The idea is that since no one can actually predict the rate of miners joining the network no one can also predict how difficult it will be to mine in 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years from now. This is one of the two reasons no one will ever be able to answer you once and for all “is Bitcoin mining profitable ?”. The second reason is the conversion rate. In the case below, you can insert an annual profitability decline factor that will help you estimate the growing difficulty.

Any firm, person, corporation, or other entity that shall establish, place, construct, erect or in any way site or locate a Commercial Cryptocurrency Mining operation described in this local law in the City of Plattsburgh in violation of the provisions of this Local Law shall be subject to, in addition to any penalties prescribed by state or local law, a civil penalty of not more than $1,000.00 for each day or part thereof during which such violation continues.
The long-term investor would consider the cryptocurrency market to be in its infancy. Unregulated and with very little institutional appeal, the demand for low-cost, cross-border, immutable and programmable money is only just beginning.
So assuming prices remain the same. You can invest in a bunch of cheap computers, break even and maybe make 10% in profit or something. That is great, but after that you are left with paper weights with pretty low resale value. The other thing you can do is build the boxes to be nice. You still break even (though perhaps not with the 10% profit) and now when you can’t mine Ethereum anymore you actually have a really nice computer you can sell for parts or run for whatever your personal use may be.
Thanks for your kind words. This will always make me feel good and I will write more guides. But as you asked about the software part of it. you can go with Windows and look for a mining software like claymore or if you want a simple mining interface you can go with minergate.

Okie so I finally got it all working perfectly fine. SEUS v11.0 was extremely laggy even dialing down everything i couldn’t Didn’t speed it up in the least. So I came back tried SEUS v10.1 Standard and it work completely fine and it looks so beautiful. ? I’m like always stopping and ooo Ahhh. Lookie Ron. n-n’ lol Anyways love it and glad I did decent for a first couple of tries,
but what really makes ethereum stand out is that all the people who use their computers to mine money adds to a “supercomputer”.. like me and your computer merges together and then creates one computer that is twice as strong.

There’s more to buying a miner than just picking the one with the highest hash rate, though. Miners with a high hash rate usually come with a high price tag. On top of that, they also typically use more electricity as they operate which could further drive your costs up.
The transition to the PoS-algorithm will allow to reduce energy costs as much as possible without requiring real resources, since it will not need large computing powers, and hence users with equipment. This means that miners will soon be obsolete. But while ETH mining remains traditional, ordinary users still have a chance to get a rapidly developing cryptocurrency on their wallet.
It all depends on how much the electricity costs. You will get a 7970 (which is the card with which seems to have the best cost-ratio) for about 150 USD in used condition, so a similar rig like mine with all 7970s will cost you about 1000 USD with a power input of approximately 1300-1400 Watts when under full load. Over here, I have already sold my equipment, since you would need about 2 USD per ETH just to cover equipment and electricity cost and maybe refund it after a whole year (the rack needs to be maintained, too, don’t forget that! And it is likely to fail with changes, I had to tweak mine at least once a weak). Since you can buy 1 ETH at approximately 1 USD for now, it does not make sense to me. I guess you will need to put up your rigs in countries where electricity is really cheap (less than 10 cents per kWh) in order to have a very small benefit – and than you need to scale. All in all, mining is not worth it at all, imho. But it definately was, until the price dropped – and hey, I did not want to miss a chance ?
The reason why a 280X rig would be better is the cheapness and ROI would have been reached much sooner. 5 X 280X’s would have given you the same, if not more, hashrate than the Fury X, and it would have been mountains more cheaper to achieve.
So for an RX 480 (a 580 in my case) we should be seeing a hash rate (basically how fast the computations are running) of 25.0 MH/s. My two AMD GPUs combined are only getting around 5.8 MH/s. I’m missing more than 80% of expected performance!
It’s rather rude of you to call someone dumb. What’s worse is you yourself can’t type well. “he Never even released a version for it yet your being scammed”. Wow, you broke the English language. never*, *take out the ‘even’*, *dot after ‘it’, Yet*, you’re*, old*, etc… If you’re gonna be a butt instead of simply saying something along the lines of “This is an old version guys. That’s why you’re all having bugs.” at least make sure you yourself are better than what you’re accusing everyone else of being.
Again, as the post stated, the goal was not purely ROI. It was to build a computer that is generally useful as a GPU cluster for while still being able to pay for itself. Effectively a free (or near free) cluster.
 – You want to get a simple low end CPU and at least 4GB of RAM – Tip: make sure your motherboard, CPU and RAM are compatible (i.e. LGA 1151 motherboards need an 1151 socket CPU, and DDR4 RAM / LGA 1150 motherboards need an 1150 CPU and DDR3 RAM)
As far as I have read, there is no guide that gives you a neat table of GPU models, price, expected hash rate and wattage. People’s reports on the internet will vary depending on what software they use to hash and if they measured using a benchmark that flatters their card or real world hashing.
You would need a different motherboard that’s capable of supporting two different RX 460s. The software itself can run on two separate GPUs, so that’s definitely not an issue. The issue is that dual GPU motherboards can cost quite a bit of money compared to single slot boards.
First, head over to Etherscan’s Mining Calculator, which provides up-to-date figures for the current price, block time and network hashrate (as measured in Gigahash per second aka GH/s; denoting billions of calculations per second):
