Also, the rigs are located in the mountain area east of Albuquerque thus it is cooler then here in the city. It is about 1000 feet higher in elevation (almost 7000 feet) then the city. I don’t know if this helps but i am going to ask my friend more about this.
The hash rate of the RX 460 is reported to be around 11 mega-hashes per second (MHS). With a “peak” wattage consumption of 75 watts, that translates to 0.147 MHS/W. The 470 produces a hash of around 25 MHS with a power consumption of around 120 watts for 0.208 MHS/W. Of the two, the 470 offers better efficiency per watt. But the 460 is easier to deploy on low-cost, low-end systems. And the 470 costs a great deal more on secondary markets. More or less, the 470 is running for well over $350 on eBay, whereas you can still get a 460 for around $100.
You WILL run into trouble there! Because if it is an AP, sometimes you’ll have other things drawing Power… (Microwave, Washing Machine, Fridge, etc etc etc…) and as soon as you plug them all plus your RIG, PUFF!!!

On the other end, your fury cards hold their value where the 290’s are about to become worthless. Second hand I found 290 for about €100, 113$, 44 eth. earning itself back in about 50 days (without calculating power)
exactly without people saying whats happening how would they know what to look at? whether they are complaining or not it still helps the dev’s know somethings wrong. atm I found using the other shader packs works for the time being but I’m hoping Sues gets updated as it looks nicer imo on my system, but the other packs look pretty good too though the one i like most has a tiny issue of solid stone blocks sometimes waving like leaves with is more funny then anything. but it works for now.

The actual brand of the card is not the most important part (although some are better than others, like the usually-higher-quality Sapphire and MSI), rather you want to make sure you get the right AMD chip. A variety of manufacturers make cards using AMD RX 470, 480, 570, and 580, and just about any of them will work fine. Also, it’s likely a good idea to get an 8GB RAM card. A mix of these cards will work just fine — it might just take a bit of time to get the drivers working properly.
I am a newbie in crypto currencies knowledge, but I wanted to ask ppl with more experience in the mining world a few questions. I have a decent amount of capital on hand to buy/rent a warehouse. I would also be able to buy 20k or so worth of hardware to mine with. How profitable is mining for ethereum? I’ve had many ppl (with limited knowledge) tell me it’s nearly impossible to turn a profit nowadays. I’ve had others tell me it’s highly profitable. If it’s not profitable why would ppl still mine it lol? Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙂
This is really overpriced. Buy 4 7990 and get 200 MH/s for around 2600. MB, CPU, HD, PSU, riser cards and built an open air case for around $400. Then if it ever gets to the point mining isn’t profitable sell the cards etc. and save money and make more money than paying $4400 for 100 MH/s…
Nvidia users may also take note – the gap between Nvidia and AMD cards in Litecoin mining is slightly smaller than with Bitcoin, with the GTX 770 capable of up to 240 KHash/s (yes, we’re back to KHash, from MHash) as compared to about 880 KHash/s for the R9 290X. That’s still a significant gap, but it’s better than the BTC situation, where the 680 hit just 130 MHash/s compared to the R9 290X’s 874MHash/s.

  1. To expand on why 3 months ago vs today is different. Obviously this depends on your cards, clocks, etc but to give you an idea (my cards are some 480 and some 1070 getting around $2 each per day after power cost)… Today you’re looking at something around $2 usd/day per card. 2-3 Months ago we went as high as like $8 usd/day per card. It’s dropped since, raised a bit, dropped again, etc and it will continue to do so. But I wouldn’t bet on seeing above $3/day for extended periods of time anymore.
    At the moment, the rewards are at 12.5 Bitcoins per one block. The reward began with 50 Bitcoins per block, and it has been lowered in every four years. It came down to  25 BTC/Block in 2012, 12.5 BTC/Block in 2016, and is expected to fall at 6.25 BTC/Block in 2020. This is what miners are supposed to get ready for.
