Is it noisy GPU mining? Can one sleep in the same room while it is working or just simply can one just do other things while it is working, since when i turn antminer on, it is so noisy that i cannot even do reading and it is too difficult to concentrate.
Distinct shadow effects are mirrored by the water because of the incredible lightnings. Mountains rise far away, making the landscape looking like a nature wonder, or lets say a good work from a great developer.
But even on the pragmatic side, cryptographic mining never made much sense to me. The profit margin is often so short-lived that by the time the average tech enthusiast hears about it, the bubble is ripe to burst. Once a mining algorithm moves to application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), it’s impossible to compete otherwise. Even if the crypto currency du jour doesn’t go ASIC, the mining pool can get saturated, and anyone without a quad-GPU farm (or better) may as well be trying to get to the moon with a sliderule (wait, we did that . . .).
I think you also brought up in an earlier convo the point that the current stock has essentially sold out worldwide, so difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. If there’s no new hashing power in the world that people can purchase and put online to hash ETH, then difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. This difficulty “plateau” would be necessary for the 6-8 month, or even a 12 month ROI – and I certainly hope it is the case. Of course if nvidia’s volta comes in May or AMD comes out with midrange vegas or increases the supply of polarises then people will likely soak up all the GPU’s and difficulty will increase until it’s game over and it’s not even profitable vs. electricity.

6x USB Riser Cables –  USB Riser Cables – These are to connect the 6 graphics cards to the motherboard and allow spacing between cards for heat dissipation. These are necessary when building a rig with this many GPU’s.
Hi Omer, Nope, Bitcoin can only be mined with any kind of profit using ASIC mining hardware. These are specialised devices which can only be used for mining specific algorithms. However, you could use those cards for GPU mineable coins. Like in my answer to Daniel just below, there are sites where you can check out the most profitable coins to mine and also places to calculate your profits. Here’s a site with suitable coins for GPU mining: https://btcgo.org/coin/mining/Gpu/ This will help you calculate your likely profits, but you’ll need to know your cards’ hashrate, power costs and some other… Read more »
The next important thing that you need is a Mining Rig Open Frame. I would recommend you to build one yourself as a DIY project. There is nothing much that is needed. You can customize as per your needs.
I also use EthOS and when I started I believe it saved me a LOT of time and effort on the software side of things, because it just works. No messing with which drivers, which OS, etc – you just edit a config to point to your wallet and reboot it and it mines. Some people bitch about paying for it, which I understand, but the quicker you can get a rig up and mining the sooner you will be earning ETH and that was definitely worth the price EthOS to me. It is a good beginner’s option if you aren’t scared of (a little bit of) Linux.
How much hash rate increase do you think you can get by getting a 2nd stick of 2gb ram in there? And is it better for power to use a single 4gb stick or 2 x 2gb sticks? What would be the increase in hash rate with say 8 or 16gb?
Some users have reported that using the latest Crimson 16.6.1 drivers has resolved the issue. If you experience the same issue with Crimson 16.6.1, please try Catalyst 15.11.1 Beta to see if that resolves the issue. it didnt work for me i had to reinstall windows to fix it there might be another driver that is incompatible with your graphics driver causing weird “unforseen” issues basically i wouldnt use the R9 serious with any other card other then a r9 series they are different tech to most cards
First of all, Ether might have several differences to Bitcoin, yet it still runs on blockchain technology. This means that the same problems, that all current blockchain technologies face, plague it too, mainly scalability.
