Akash Nath, a class of 2016 Boston University graduate, began a bitcoin derivatives trading platform called Alt-Options with a few other classmates several months after he began mining in his dorm room as a sophomore. He and the other founders sold the company for an undisclosed amount in April 2016, earning a neat return before even graduating from college. “It worked out pretty nicely,” he says.
Jerry, you might want to look into this. Its a blogging opportunity (watch till the end) for Obits, and asset related to bitshares, one of the blockchains in the Seemis family of blockchains. seems right up your alley.
So I tried adding a 5th card today (Red Devil rx 470) and can’t get it to detect on Windows 10. Other gpus are reference 480’s, Motherboard is Asrock H81 Pro BTC and I have powered risers, and plenty of power 1300 EVGA. 4 cards was working just fine but the fifth wont show up, fans just spin. Any recommendations?
Could someone help me out here. I’ve got a R280X that should run around 290 h/s on equihash. I runs great guns on Cryptonite 485 h/s but when I start Claymore Zen64 miner it starts out at 275 h/s and then starts to throttle back to 150 h/s. It drops my clock speed in half and I have no control over setting thru MSI afterburner. It mines along but at half the speed 500mhz.
The screens also provide extra security by verifying and displaying important wallet details.  The hardware wallet also supports a wide support of coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis) and most importantly an attractive price tag.  HOW TO SETUP AND CONFIGURE A LEDGER NANO S

Isn’t profitable mining all about MH/J (or better Energy x your local price for energy) anyway and not MH per $ spent on hardware? You could spend 1 USD total on hypothetical equipment that has a crazy hashrate if that draws 5 GW of power it won’t get you far.
Shark Mining has another entry in this list of best mining rigs, this time with its Shark PRO mining rig. Like the Shark mini, this is a well-built device for mining that comes with a range of configuration options. The base model comes with six GTX 1070 cards, but these can be upgraded to GTX 1070 Ti or GTX 1080 Ti GPUs. It’s an expensive rig, but the build quality and potential profit makes it a very tempting choice if you’re serious about mining.
Us mere mortals wouldn’t have an R9 290X level of card lying idle. Heck, suppose we do have unused GPU it would be something from 2 gen before it and a mainstream oran entry level card of its time at that, at the very least.
The Zephyrs too became mounts for the war. The ores were mined and they became armour and weapons. Last but not least, the former hostile paradise turned hell became a place of dark doorways to all places – the End, Nether, Overworld and Void and everywhere in between. Through these the Voice watches and waits for the world to end.
Energy-efficient What You Need For An Energy-Efficient Gaming PC What You Need For An Energy-Efficient Gaming PC Gaming computers are some of the most powerful consumer PCs on the market. Though beefy dual-processor workstations exist, they’re for work rather than play. People who buy a powerful computer for personal use usually do… Read More cryptocurrency mining saves you money, saves the planet, and can make you money. The trick is to maximize your hash rate per watt or reduce your system’s overall energy footprint. Here are the components and configuration settings needed to maximize your computer’s energy efficiency for mining the cryptocurrency Ethereum.
Most of the dorm room miners I spoke to mined alternative currencies with personal computers and graphics cards. Some used their desktops, while others built their own computers. A few of them even used their laptops. Pretty much everyone already had graphics cards for gaming or other purposes before realizing that they met the hardware requirements for mining.
I really don’t recommend it. You’re going to need alot of mining equipment. Block rewards are at 3 ETH right now, plus Tx fees and gas costs from contracts/users. There’s even less if you only mine uncles. This is assuming you want to mine solo. If you’re trying to pool mine, you’re still going to need alot of good hardware, and electricity, as the block rewards are split between miners proportional to their hashrate contribution to the pool.
While Mark’s encounter with bad actors left him relatively unscathed, Rahul, the Stanford graduate, suffered a much greater loss. In December, 2013, he spent a couple thousand dollars on an ASIC to mine bitcoin. Within the first three months, he mined what was at the time worth $10,000, he says. (According to CoinDesk, the price of bitcoin during that time averaged around $800.) Confident that the price would rise, he purchased another $10,000 of bitcoin with his own money and placed all of his holdings on Mt. Gox, then the largest and most trusted bitcoin exchange in the world.
First off from Sep 1st the January 11th there has been NO change in difficulty. Prior to Sep 1st there was a rise and now post january 11th there has been a rise. But for the majority of the known record it has actually remained level. So that is speculation.
I’m still mining Ethash on my 4GB cards and Equihash on my 2GB cards. I was a little afraid that mining would not remain profitable. I’m more confident that after ETH goes to POS there will still profitable alternatives with Ethash & Equishash algos. Today I’m mining ETH & ZEC.
@armyman It depends on what you’re more comfortable with using. Windows 10 is fine and you can mine with claymore’s dual miner. Personally I use windows 10 because I’m not really familiar with Ubuntu and it’s easier for me to install drivers and software, and I use ethminer because I’m used to it and works just fine for me.
I was wondering if you could help me understand the relationship between the Ethereum client (e.g. geth, parity) and the Ethereum mining client (e.g. ethminer). My naive guess is that they communicate somehow over JSON-RPC, and the former manages the whole blockchain whereas the mining client just provides it with work to do. But I’m not sure I understand what the value of ethminer is, and why there are two separate elements in the mining stack. How would you explain it? – William Apr 28 ’16 at 17:35
This is called cloud mining. It has been happening for a long time with Bitcoin and a number of reputable providers have come to the fore where you can trust their reputation for them not to run off with your money. This is especially true of Genesis Mining who are the first to set up a batch of Ethereum Mining contracts where all you do is pay them some cash and your up and running as an Ethereum miner – as simple as that – no hassle no playing around with downloading Geth and using command prompt – and most importantly you don’t have to maintain it yourself which can be a big issue if you have to keep going to restart your computer. So it saves your time!
Anyway, I was looking for a case for 7 GPU mining, but could not find since all of them are made for 6 GPU mining, so probably it has to be custom made, unless, i place 6 GPU’s in a case and the 7th one i can place outside of it, probably not a good idea, can you tell me where i can buy a good case with decent airflow for 7 GPU’s since i would like to buy this mother board…
@itsmein3d with friends invested on Genesis Mining as well, it seems to have great terms which are ideal for making an investment easily in a small amount of time. The limitations are the long time it takes to get a return compared to making our own mining rigs plus not really owning anything. For the greatest profits, making our own mining rigs seems to be a better investment not just of the money but for the valuable learning it takes to build on our own machines which then translates to skills good for earning high dollars per hour! In summary, if we have money and just want a good return, Genesis might be the best option. If we have a bit more time and willingness to learn plus want the highest profits and have low enough electricity costs, DIY mining might be ideal!
Ethereum understøtter ikke centraliseret pool minedrift via det Ghost Protocol, giver forslidt blokke. Det betyder, at uanset om du bruger en pool eller ikke, der vil være nogen betydelig fordel i forhold standard Ethereum minedrift.
Currently, only the Star Wars Collector’s Edition model appears to be available from Nvidia. While these Jedi Order cards certainly look great, cosmetic add nothing to the mining performance.
Now the only way you can deal with that exponentially increasing difficulty is an exponentially increasing price in ETH. But if assume ETH will be increasing exponentially in price, why do you want to mine at all? Just spend your money on ETH now.
A: 99.9% of Cloud Mining sites are Ponzi schemes or fractional reserve Ponzi’s.  Even though there are a few that have been around a long time, there have been no 3rd party audits of the hashing power sold and profits are usually very low unless you are promoting heavily and getting others to join in (another red flag of ponzi related activity).  Short Answer – Our advice is DO NOT buy into Ethereum Cloud Mining sites or related Deposit Investment/HYIP programs.
These figures will change based on when you run this analysis, but for purposes of the example here we would net 109 ETH annually. If sold at the current price, $1537 will be earned from which we subtract the electricity cost of $493. This nets a respectable profit of $1045.

  1. One thing you did not mention however, is you could theoretically mine at break even, and if the Eth value explodes, discover your profit at that juncture. I guess that would make you more a speculator than a miner though?
Jerry I love all your videos! I watch them all, I think you have great energy in every post you make me so excited and I continue to share your videos with my family and friends trying to convert them over to steemit. Wonderful work on here we are so glad to have you and app all you do with promotions for steemit.com
Also, the rigs are located in the mountain area east of Albuquerque thus it is cooler then here in the city. It is about 1000 feet higher in elevation (almost 7000 feet) then the city. I don’t know if this helps but i am going to ask my friend more about this.
The Aether is an amazing realm in the sky, as opposed to the Nether deep underground. Its main features are large floating islands and formations of Aeroclouds. There are many new mobs, items and blocks in the Aether, some being entirely different from those in the overworld, but few are similar to overworld mobs.
