According to CoinWars, based on today’s difficulty, mining 1 ETH per day would require a hash rate of roughly 1600 MH/s. That’s roughly 53 GPUs, for a total cost of roughly $12K in GPUs. Assuming that a mining server supports 7 GPUs, you must partition your GPUs into 8 servers. Conservatively, each server might cost an additional $500 for a motherboard, CPU, cables, RAM, HD and frame. This brings the total hardware cost to roughly $16K. Power will cost roughly $3,500 per year.

Understand, however, that the operative word is bet. In the two years I’ve been mining, I’ve gone through three pools. One became too small to sustain itself, one was DDOS’d to death, and 50BTC technically claims to still be operating, but its account system has been screwed up for nearly two months and the support staff no longer answer emails. Its FAQ on the attack hasn’t been updated in weeks. All withdrawals are frozen.
Now, you’re all set up. Good for you. I bet you thought you were going to be mining more bitcoins than the Federal Reserve prints dollars, didn’t you? Sadly not. You will stand little chance of success mining bitcoins unless you work with other people. You can find out more about that in our upcoming guide on how to join a mining pool.
A good mod — for any game — is one that shakes things up a bit and presents entirely new challenges to players. That’s exactly what the Aether does, with its flying snowball-throwers, its gravity-defying slime monsters, and its sand that feels like a Red Bull rush to the head. With a little persistence, navigating and conquering this bizarre world can be as easy as it is intriguing.
It is very easy to burn out your GPUs – I’ve done in two, but luckily got warranty replacements. The first just stopped working after one day. And one of the fans got “sticky” in the second one after a few months.
2018 is going to be a roller coaster ride for Ethereum price chart, But definitely you’ll notice a substantial increase in the value of Ether. Already, in the beginning of 2018 Ether price was increased with more than $400 and lately it has been showing a bit of downfall. To know how to invest read.
What dorm miners don’t pay for in electricity, they pay for in discomfort. Even without the radiator running in the middle of a Boston winter, the temperature in Mark’s room is well above desirable. His rig is “essentially a 2,000-watt heater running at all times,” Mark says. “All chocolate I accidentally leave here melts, but it’s not horribly uncomfortable.” This is even after he moved his two most efficient mining rigs to his girlfriend’s room three floors below because the heat in the summer was unbearable.

This might be a slight necro (apologies in advance) but I would love to hear why you’re hodling ETC as opposed to ETH. Given that there is fundamentally no difference between them apart from some users not being able to retrieve their stolen ETH, your position and the supposed upside you mention is perplexing.
The Aether is a popular content mod which includes the Aether realm, the opposite of The Nether that includes several new blocks, mobs, and items, as well as a whole new accessory system. It has a wiki of its own, which will be far more up-to-date than the information here.
SJ Oh, a trader and vice-president at Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency broker Octagon Strategy, said he saw a pickup in ethereum trading interests recently, as some investors were increasingly buying the cryptocurrency so that they could use ethereum to pay for the next ICO to be launched by start-ups.
As mentioned above due to the entirely new market we are in.. It was pretty much necessary for Ethereum to change the code to prevent anymore damage, but in the future when the Ethereum platform is used by a huge part of the global community I would not feel the same about a hard fork. Regardless the issue!
You can enhance your bitcoin hash rate by adding graphics hardware to your desktop computer. Graphics cards feature graphical processing units (GPUs). These are designed for heavy mathematical lifting so they can calculate all the complex polygons needed in high-end video games. This makes them particularly good at the SHA hashing mathematics necessary to solve transaction blocks.
Since early this year the price of Ethereum has literally skyrocketed and made many of the early adopters rich, but it isn’t too late…. with the impossibility of using ASIC’s to mine, setting up your own mini GPU mine can still net you large profits, especially when the currency makes it’s next value hike….hurry, follow this guide to learn about the currency and how to mine it easily and reliably.
Experimentation with various GPU selections in the calculator will reveal a card with the best price to performance to power consumption combination (expressed as MH/s per Currency Unit). Keep in mind that AMD cards outperform NVidia for cryptocurrency mining purposes.
Also you are assuming a strategy where the end goal is to sell the computer after the mining period is over, thats fine for some people, but in my case im building it to actually be kept and be useful past that period, so again doesnt apply in my case, this was also specifically pointed out in the blog entry.
The following component lists might be used to help in building a new rig. To minimize shipping costs, components from the same supplier were preferred over compenents from the least expensive source.
For example, the RX 580’s hashrate has fallen from 23 MH/s (140 epochs) down to 18.5 MH/s (162 epochs). While the RX range is still great for mining other GPU coins, it’s quickly becoming obsolete for Ethereum mining.
All this computing power chews up electricity, and that costs money. It’s worth looking at your hardware’s energy consumption in watts, when making your choice. You want to make sure that you don’t end up spending all of your money on electricity to mine coins that won’t be worth what you paid.
Motherboard: You’ll need a motherboard that has enough PCIe x16 and PCIe x1 slots to support the ammout of graphics cards you plan on using in your rig. The Asrock H81 Pro BTC and Asrock H97 Anniversary, are both good boards to use, they are relatively cheap they can support 6 graphics cards with 1 PCIe x16 slot and 5 PCIe x1 slot. And you will need to buy a power button, obviously to turn on your rig.
Using a dedicated Windows or Linux desktop PC is ideal for mining because it keeps the computer free from any other slowdowns and keeps existing devices free for normal use. Fortunately buying the machine to run all the GPUs on is a small part of the total expense. Read https://www.bestvpn.com/ethereum-mining/ to get a good look at the parts required for the computer.

  1. Having been in the mining game for a bit under 3 years now, I can promise you the “fastest” rig is not always the best mining rig. If there is one thing I can pass on it’s that the volatility with value over long periods is what affects ROI more than anything, and the safest bet is to get ROI as soon as possible so that if/when the value drops, you don’t end up underwater chasing your ROI incessantly. If the value drops significantly, but you’ve made ROI, then you can still mine at a small loss and speculate or simply shut down the rig during non profitable times–if the rig has paid itself off, you have these options, whereas when ROI is still on the table, you are very much limited.
