Mining Ethereum at this point requires a 3GB GPU because of the size of the DAG file. DAG stands for Directed Acyclic Graph and is essentially a database of the existing blockchain. In order to mine the next block, your hardware needs to be aware of all the existing blocks. As of this writing, the DAG is just over 2GB, and it only gets bigger with each new step, which happens at least once a week. The vast majority of miners load the entire DAG into VRAM. Without sufficient capacity, the GPU can’t even begin mining operations.
RAM — What’s the best RAM to buy for mining Ethereum? To go with your motherboard and your CPU, you’re going to need some RAM for your rig. The most economical purchase is likely to be a single stick of 4GB DDR3 RAM. If you want to run other applications on your rig for one reason or another, then perhaps go with 8GB. Regardless, you don’t need much RAM to mine. Keep in mind that, depending on the motherboard that you buy, you might need to get DDR4 RAM instead.
NO! We in no way are charging for the Ethereum Code Bot system – it is 100% FREE. We will never ask you for banking details. Once you have signed up, we will recommend a broker that works best with our software. You will deposit some funds with the broker to begin trading with – remember this is not a payment for us, but capital to trade with. The money is always YOURS and you can withdraw it from the broker at any time.

A Radeon RX 470 offers you an average hash rate of 24.0MH/s. Its daily power cost is at $0.4320, with the cost per MH/s at $9.13. This model of GPU will give you a return per day of $1.15 and a return per year of $418.16. You will need to pay around $220 for Radeon RX 470.
We will have to wait and see what all changes are implemented by the company but for now, you can mine ether and earn profits by selling them which claimed to be much profitable than the buying of ether itself as a currency.
If you want to get fancy you COULD get a water cooled rig or system… but you would pay more and it wouldn’t be worth it in terms of TIME/PROFIT, COST/PROFIT, COOLING/PROFIT… it would be better for the GPUs, they would feel more ‘confortable’… but they wouldn’t run any faster………
If you’re interested in mining Ethereum because you want to make a quick buck, you’re going to be disappointed. If that’s you, then I would say to stick with just buying some Ethereum or Bitcoin on Coinbase and holding onto it for several years. My mantra with mining is this: Don’t just do it for the money. If you want to start mining, it’s probably a good idea for you to care about it as a hobby as well. It might not ever make you big gains, but it’s fun and helps minimize risks
I think you also brought up in an earlier convo the point that the current stock has essentially sold out worldwide, so difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. If there’s no new hashing power in the world that people can purchase and put online to hash ETH, then difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. This difficulty “plateau” would be necessary for the 6-8 month, or even a 12 month ROI – and I certainly hope it is the case. Of course if nvidia’s volta comes in May or AMD comes out with midrange vegas or increases the supply of polarises then people will likely soak up all the GPU’s and difficulty will increase until it’s game over and it’s not even profitable vs. electricity.
Personally, I believe in diversification within the Ethereum realm: mining, buy-and-hold, momentum trading, mean-reversion trading and price arbitrage between exchanges. I believe in the incredible potential of a technology like Ethereum, but there are so many factors that could crush its market cap.
We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).
There are three main categories of bitcoin mining hardware, each more expensive and more powerful than the last. This guide to setting up a bitcoin miner explains each of them, and talks about how to make them work.
If you’re reading a newbie’s guide to Ethereum mining and have a GPU powerful enough to make it worthwhile, we’re going to assume you’re running Windows so we’ll focus on mining Ethereum on that platform.
What I recommend is running a command prompt (I assume you’re in Windows) and then navigating to the Ethereum folder and running the bat file. Doing it this way, the output will not disappear and you’ll be able to get the error message which will help in diagnosis.
For those gamers who have always been warned not to judge a book by its cover, the Aether is a prime example of why that old adage remains true in today’s far more technological world. At first glance, players entering the Aether might think that they’ve landed in a far more ideal world — a place where playing the game and beating peers is more attainable. That would be very, very wrong. The rules of the Aether defy physics and, indeed, they defy the usual conventions of Minecraft itself. Everything is not what it seems, and dangers come from above and below in this chaotic new world.
While I am mining in a pool _nanopool) can I set my address to be my paper wallet; such as myetherwall.com? Will my Eth be deposited to that address and be available? Also I have 2 r9 280x’s and 1 r9 290 gpu, can I just pop those all into one mobo and mine with them even though they will not all have pcie 16x slots?
“Early phase of cryptocurrency market development focused on who will be the “digital gold” – and Bitcoin won through the largest developer and adoption ecosystem,” the report said. “However, current battle is for other functionalities, such as global decentralized computing or smart contracts infrastructure.”
The real opportunity to earn much more than $200 a day is to learn how to build mining rigs for Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. Once we have the system down, we can just keep building more over time and then the money comes in on autopilot! This seems ideal compared to paying into a mining pool where another company is likely earning a significant share of my profits and maintains control over all of the machines.
Please note that ALL Mobs are Pitch Black and so are Signs. You can not read it at all, And mobs are completely black. No idea what is wrong with the shaders but when I removed GLSL Shaders my game works fine.
Miners perform solving of computationally complex problems and are rewarded Ether in return for their effort, time and processing power of their computers. Its basically like how you used to play video games and after winning each level, the next level gets unlocked. Similarly, the game here is mathematical puzzles and new levels are blocks in the blockchain.
You can determine the rating for efficiency by dividing the hashrate by the power consumption. Newer cards are usually more efficient. This rating is of prime importance—given that electricity is a fixed, ongoing cost. In other words, the more efficient your card, the more profitable it will be once you’ve received the ROI.
So after 12 months we should be making around $2,160. However we haven’t deducted the hardware cost yet, so it’s more like we’re breaking even or even losing some money. This is true for Bitcoin’s current exchange rate (around $8,500).
A word of warning though is that Ethereum will move from proof of work to proof of stake – and nobody knows when this will happen because it depends on the development community. Also bear in mind that the GPU or graphics card that you choose to mine Ethereum with needs to fit in your computer or have a special computer built for it – this will depend on a lot of other factors such as whether your computer has enough power to add an extra graphics card in or whether your computer’s motherboard has the correct slot to take the card. so be careful – these figures are only here to give you a basic idea of what the graphics card can do – there is quite a bit of work to do yourself.

I’m about to buy (1) R9 280x HIS R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E DLDVI-I/HDMI/2xMini DP + (1) 750W PSU. I’m confident that I will be able to ROI, but it seems too risky because nothing else is worth mining with it besides Ethereum.
Does this work with Optifine? I’m new to all this so I’m not so shader savy. lol Do i just pop it into my Optifine shaderpack folder? or… Do I need that GLSL? I did go about and it did say it’s now implemented into Optifine but the description on this Shader says nothing about it so I’m just double checking before I detonate this mini nuke in my pc. n_n/
I am a lightweight as far as mining goes, however, there is still room to make money on ETH. If you already have hardware, turn it on and let it run. If you don’t have hardware, I can see it being difficult to ROI. A lot depends on price and difficulty, price has been going down as of late, while difficulty has been going up, HOWEVER, its always possible that people quit mining and difficulty goes back down. That is almost a win win. Less competition, that is if you are in it for the long haul, however you have pretty much missed the boat on that.
Motherboard and Graphics cards are out of stock in your list so I bought them mostly Used/New Graphics cards on Ebay ($245-$305), (Motherboard $75) on Newegg. The motherboards are overpriced on ebay, $175 – $500, pay attention to delivery times, some don’t deliver for 3-4 weeks!

  1. 1x Power Supply –  1000 Watt PSU – The key here is to have an efficient power supply that will save you over the long run in electricity costs. Look for Gold or Platinum rated (as opposed to silver or bronze). This is the industry standard for rating the efficiency of a computer’s power supply unit (PSU). If the model linked above is unavailable, I’d also recommend this model and this model.
RAM, the more the better, since the DAG file will increase size before the PoW ends, so you will mine longer if you have more RAM (research about it…its important in the future)… RAM ON THE GPUs….not on the Computer… the Computer RAM can be as low as 4GB… depending on what you are doing with it… the RAM on the GPUs is what i’m talking about…..
