I was pretty shocked to see that we can get more output with this rig. So, with the current price hike of Ethereum, you can get about $530 per month. Maybe I should recommend this build to a lot of people. This is due to Ethereum which crossed $1100 and will continue to cross. Just overclock this rig for more output.
The card itself costs $200 – which is one of the cheapest when it comes to mining Ethereum. Considering the low price and low power consumption, this is one of the most popular GPUs for Ethereum mining. The 8GB RAM is an additional advantage here.
Hence, it is reported that Ethereum is changing to Proof of Stake framework later in this year, in which mining of ether is irrelevant and works on Consensus algorithm different from current Dagger Hashimoto algorithm.
In choosing the most efficient GPU the most important thing is striking a balance between how powerful you want your rig to be and how much you are willing to spend on the GPU itself and the electricity.
Thank you. I totally believe in crypto and have a majority in bitcoin, ethereum and monero. The above choices are speculation that I have a lot of faith in for upside potential greater than my go to’s.
The beauty of this system is once we get it built, we can modify it to mine whichever coins are the most profitable instead of relying on a third party to continue paying us out in whatever we started with at a fixed hashing power. Thank you for reading this and I hope you have a wonderful day! If this post was helpful, would you please vote it up because that helps me to continue writing more for you?
Never underestimate the power of the Radeon RX 400 series. The Radeon RX 480 is not only the cheapest GPU in this list, it is also easily the most economic GPU. This card has a hash rate of 25 MH/s while only drawing 150 W at max load. You’ll make over $700 USD annually per card! Comparitively to the RX 580, this card is an awesome Ethereum miner!

With Bitcoin hitting its $18K mark not awhile ago, a current total of $316B in market cap and hundreds of ICOs (Initial Coin Offering) conducted since August, it’s sure to say there’s a bubble in the cryptocurrency space. What’s more, is that it doesn’t seem this bubble is going anywhere, anytime soon.
but what really makes ethereum stand out is that all the people who use their computers to mine money adds to a “supercomputer”.. like me and your computer merges together and then creates one computer that is twice as strong.
The power supply determines how efficiently a computer pulls current from the wall socket. Unfortunately, the standard PSU converts from wall current (Alternating Current, also known as AC) to Direct Current (DC) at around 70 percent efficiency. That means 30 percent of the power pulled from the wall gets turned into waste heat. Fortunately, a variety of PSUs can convert at 80 percent and higher. When certified by the 80 Plus organization, a power supply unit receive an efficiency rating which varies depending on the load of the unit. The ratings vary between 80+, 80+ Bronze, 80+ Silver, 80+ Gold, 80+ Platinum, and 80+ Titanium. At the highest end of the spectrum, PSUs produce above 90 percent efficiency at all loads, but they tend to cost a fortune.

EDIT 22/3/2012: Above texture pack is my WIP one. Hasn’t been released and I’m a little too busy with Uni at the moment to finish off all that I wanted for a first release. Please don’t message me about it. Thanks.
3) Hard Drive – You need a hard drive to store your operating system and your software for mining. A standard SSD drive will do (an SSD hard drive is just a storage device and is called solid state as there aren’t moving bits which can break). The size will depend on what you are planning to do when mining. If you are planning to download the entire blockchain and mine as shown in this guide here – then you will need to take into account how big the blockchain will and need to spend a little more. If you are just going to mine ethereum as part of a pool then you don’t need to store the blockchain and can get a smaller SSD drive. We used the SSDNow V300 120GB. Buy it here.
The other night I was talking with a fellow affiliate marketer on Facebook, our conversation for some reason started to focus on investments, stocks, and cryptocurrencies. Seems that alternative finance income ideas…
5. A PSU or Power Supply Unit – Power supply units come in many sizes and this can trip some people up when they are looking at calculating what size they need. You need to sum up the power consumption of your GPU and all the other components and make sure your power supply has the capability to supply more! So if you have two GPU’s that consumes 220 Watts and other components that need 250 Watts then you can get away with a 750 Watt power supply unit as the total power needed is only 690Watts.
Over the Christmas season, an unknown threat actor released the working code for the router exploit used by the Satori botnet. Researchers predicted the release of the code for free online would result in copy-paste botnets, and this prophesy seems to have come to pass.
A mining rig is a computer system used for mining bitcoins. The rig might be a dedicated miner where it was procured, built and operated specifically for mining or it could otherwise be a computer that fills other needs, such as performing as a gaming system, and is used to mine only on a part-time basis.
Because the price went up. If ETH prices keep climbing, ETC prices should follow. Just like BTC and LTC. $350 ETC would be awesome! I changed my Prohashing settings to pay me in ETC. Gonna hold and see what will happen later this year.
When I joined The Bitcoin Code 2 months ago, never could have I ever imagined the series of events that would unfold just days after locking in my free software. I was able to clear my $131,382 debt. There is no greater feeling than to be debt-free. Now, I’m in the process of buying my dream home. I still can’t believe this is all really happening…I’m forever grateful to Steve.
Hi Bhavesh, OK, this seems to be a fairly common error but it’s beyond my capabilities to diagnose precisely from that log. I’ve seen a variety of solutions to this issue proposed on various forums: https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/18806/couldnt-connect-to-node/23153#23153 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/2426 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/wiki#unable-to-find-peers I suggest starting with the simple solutions first before trying the more advanced stuff. So if using Windows, start things up in Administrator mode. Then try starting Geth manually with the –nat=none flag. Then try starting from the command line as someone suggested. You can also backup your data directory, rename / move it, and let the wallet resync itself… From there,… Read more »
I myself was very curious about this type of thing and hope to see more articles of it’s kind (to me more Hardware related than the numerous game reviews). One thing you did not mention however, is you could theoretically mine at break even, and if the Eth value explodes, discover your profit at that juncture. I guess that would make you more a speculator than a miner though?
That’s why miners ‘pool’ together their computational power into ‘mining pools’, to improve their chances of solving the cryptographic puzzles and earning ether. Then, they split the profits proportional to how much power each miner contributed.
When it comes to mining for digital currencies, home computer rigs require ample processing power. For this reason, many people venturing into this pastime are building separate rigs to mine for currency on the side. This way they do not interrupt their usual computer habits.

“On the charity side, the first thing to say is that blockchain is not just about Bitcoin … Charities don’t need to be holding cryptocurrencies but focus on the underlying technology [to] solve problems.”
If you’re familiar with the idea of cryptocurrency mining, you know that in order to keep a blockchain running smoothly, it takes a lot of computing power to verify new transactions. This process, known as mining, is currently used by both Bitcoin and Ethereum to maintain their blockchains.
