This guide will be broken into several parts, each focusing on a different aspect of building your first mining rig. First, let’s take a look at what you’ll need in terms of hardware to put a respectable Ethereum miner together.
To start mining with your GPU, key in ‘ethminer –G’ followed by the enter key. This will initiate the mining process after building the DAG ((Directed Acyclic Graph), which is a large file stored in the RAM of your GPU for the purpose of making it ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) resistant. Ensure that there is sufficient space on your hard drive before getting to this point.
Zcash uses the equihash algorithm. Same as btc gold. I bought my contract to mine zcash, but I don’t think it is unreasonable that in a few month’s time, Genesis might make it possible to mine btc gold with it since it is the same algorithm. If not, Zcash will still be hot. It is a win win!
Note that buying used cards from crypto miners is not recommended, due to the wear and tear mining places on cards. If you your card after it’s no longer useful for mining, you should mention that it was used for mining, then price it accordingly.
Each block must have the proof of work of the given difficulty if it is to validated in consensus. The algorithm for validation is called Esthash. It has to do with identifying the nonce input to the result in such a way that it will be below a threshold that is determined by the difficulty. If the outputs are uniform in distribution, then the fact that the time required to find a nonce depends on the difficulty is guaranteed. In this case, simply manipulating the difficulty will allow a miner control how much time is required to find a new block.
The newer USB-style powered risers often include SATA-to-molex power adapters. Throw these adapters away! SATA plugs are not designed to deliver 75 watts safely, and these can get hot enough to potentially be a fire risk (admittedly, 99% of the time you’ll be fine, but it’s not worth the risk). Instead, connect the molex plugs on the riser directly to your PSU (no more than two risers per PSU plug). Newer versions of these USB risers forego the molex adapter and instead use a PCIe connector for power.
This is my first DASH coin mining investment and the initial return on coin bits looks promising. I just hope I opened the right wallet to receive my automatic daily deposits. So far, I see I’m making Dash coins but the daily deposits haven’t started yet. But I’m only on day 3.

Awesome! I’m going to be making $900 a month, and better yet I’ll be making $10,000+ dollars a year. Sadly, this is a naive projection. If we use another service for mining projections such as MyCryptoBuddy’s Ethereum Mining Calculator (http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/EthereumMiningCalculator) We see that this is a more realistic projection of future profit because it accounts for the increase in difficulty. Using this calculator, with the same hash rate previously stated my return profit drastically changes:
