vor ein paar Tagen hatte ich ein Gespräch mit einem Freund über Ethereum Mining. Letztes Jahr habe zum Beispiel für ihn 50 € in Ethereum Cloud Mining investiert und jetzt hat er 2.3 Ether, im Wert von über 550 $. Hätte ich letztes Jahr stattdessen Ether für 50 € direkt gekauft, wären es über 5 ETH, die heute über 1000 € wert wären. Die Frage ist also: Was ist 2017 profitabler? Ether kaufen, oder Ethereum Cloud Mining?

I’m wondering if you can help me troubleshoot something with Claymore Miner, though. It randomly crashes on me without any error messages (even when I add pause to the end of the start.bat to check). In conclusion, while there are many risks, all can easily be avoided by either implementing standard safety procedures, or by making sure that your rig will last a long time by buying the best parts you can. I’m with GM for a year. I sincerely recommend GM due to the low cost of the account. At any time you can change addresses, which is very valuable. For one year there have been no problems with payouts. So I decided to invest more in various cryptowals. For me GM is the best mine in the cryptowalut market. Sincerely Malgorzata from Poland
Could I use this setup to install 2 GPUs RX 460 instead of one? I know that will drive the power cost up but Im wondering if the motherboard would take it. I don’t mind an extra 100 watts for 11 MH/s of ETH
I have had a 2MH/s contract with them for about a month now – to tell you the truth, I signed up mostly to earn the right to use the poetical phrase: “I am mining ether in a cloud” :-). Genesis works fine – one thing: they keep back the ether you mine in the first month to make sure your credit card payment clears before they first transfer it to you. I guess someone must have hoodwinked them.

Ethereum can be mined by using GPUs as the same cannot be applicable in case of Bitcoin mining. Ethereum has an ASIC resistant algorithm that facilitates use of GPUs and dedicated processors resulting in a cost efficient and user-friendly mining process.
although power price is very cheaper in my country but I hope ETH price goes higher , but ETH going to POS in couple of months am I right ? even if eth POS ed we can mine ETC and other profitable currencies so I will not sell my rigs

Yes in the sense that if difficulty gets too high, the number of Ether coins you get in reward doesn’t offset the cost of electricity and/or cooling.  But usually, when that happens, people tend to stop mining or move to another coin.  Once that happens, difficulty drops down and Ethereum becomes profitable again to mine.
I have ZERO computer skills, and I am sorry if this question come across as stupid but I truly don’t have a clue how this all works. Do you happen to have directions for putting this together? Also, when everything is put together do I just turn it on and start mining? I am sure that I will need software to work this but do you know where I can get the software needed to run these? I am so sorry that I am asking noob questions, but I seem to always have more questions that keep popping up.
It is very easy to burn out your GPUs – I’ve done in two, but luckily got warranty replacements. The first just stopped working after one day. And one of the fans got “sticky” in the second one after a few months.
The recent drop in Ethereum’s monetary value combined with the vastly increased mining difficulty has severely decreased the profit margin. It’s certainly past the point where anyone buying a new, dedicated mining rig will see a good return on investment (ROI). Even if you spent a relatively meager $1200 on a new setup, you’d need to net at least $100 a month for a year to just break even. Ethereum’s volatile nature and pending shift to a proof-of-stake model makes it unpredictable. Only the most desperate or foolhardy would buy new mining equipment at this point expecting to make a profit. So let’s look for another attack vector.
Genesis Mining Ether cloud mining contracts will run for 2 years. You pay fees upfront instead of during the lifetime of the contract. By doing this, miners will have better control on profit. From our latest calculation, 2017-04-03, the contract broke even after 355 days.
With all of that said, the 8GB versions of the cards tend to have faster-clocked memory than most of the 4GB cards, so if the price difference isn’t too large, spring for whatever is the fastest. Most of the cards fall between 1650 Mhz (6600 Mbps effective) to 2000 Mhz (8000 Mbps effective). The slower 1650 Mhz memory GPUs will hash at 21-23 Mh/s, and the fastest 2000 Mhz ones will do 25-28 Mh/s (both can potentially be pushed higher with BIOS mods and good luck).
My guess not too much. There was too much momentum behind GPU buying. All those people who preordered cases of GPUs will likely want to use them regardless of how bad the market looks when they get them. Especially if the resale market for GPU’s dies off which I think we will start seeing pretty big declines in prices in the next few weeks.
It is often hard to select required PSU. Some of you might select a PSU that is way less than the required power supply. When you select the Power Supply Unit for the mining rig you will only use 80% of the total that can be supplied by the PSU.
I think you also brought up in an earlier convo the point that the current stock has essentially sold out worldwide, so difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. If there’s no new hashing power in the world that people can purchase and put online to hash ETH, then difficulty can’t keep increasing at the current rate. This difficulty “plateau” would be necessary for the 6-8 month, or even a 12 month ROI – and I certainly hope it is the case. Of course if nvidia’s volta comes in May or AMD comes out with midrange vegas or increases the supply of polarises then people will likely soak up all the GPU’s and difficulty will increase until it’s game over and it’s not even profitable vs. electricity.

Power related fees can be another obstacle; billing practices and procedures vary in regards to electricity, exceedingly more between different countries, but pricing is commonly calculated in kilowatts per hour. Ideally, having no or low energy costs would be preferable, renewable energy comes to mind, as do other shadowy options (miners in less regulated communities often siphon off of the grid directly, what basically amounts to mining with no overhead).

  1. The GTX 1060 has a hash rate of around 21 Mh/s with a power draw of about 105W, it will make a profit of 47.24 USD per month. With a power cost of 6.43 USD per month. It will take just about 5-6 months to pay off the GPU depending on the price you get it at.
    But what do miners get in return for doing all the heavy lifting?  Ether reward coins.  The catch is that mining tends to require more and more power over time, as more people invest in more powerful hardware.  This is called mining difficulty and increases exponentially with the number of people mining and competing for their Ether reward.
    Save your Private Key provided.  A good practice is to open a notepad and enter in your info – password, private key, and your Ethereum address (which you’ll get shortly), and save that text file along with your Keystore File, in an Encrpted file (using WinRar or similar program) and then store a copy of that on a USB drive or cloud drive and delete the individual files (storing only the encrypted file digitally).
