Nvidia’s latest flagship card, the Titan V, is a real beast. It uses a new type of graphics processor named Volta, which is also found in Tesla accelerators. The card is intended for serious number- crunching (such as machine learning, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC) applications).
Traditionally, when buying a car, you go to the dealership. Once there, you have to negotiate a price. Then you have to go to the bank and have a guaranteed check or something of that sort drafted. After that you have to go back to the dealership with this guaranteed check.
So, with our eyes on Ethereum in particular, being the new rising star, that’s exactly what we did here at HotHardware (1 ETH = ~ $277.85 as of this publication). We also learned some handy tips for tweaking your mining rig for maximum hash rate throughput, while keeping your heat and energy consumption at a minimum. We will be sharing these as well has some key hardware benchmark metrics and suggestions to help boost your personal mining potential.
The Ethereum Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) file is stored in VRAM by miners. The DAG grows in size by remaining proportionate to the mining difficulty. About once every epoch (or 30,000 Ethereum blocks), a new DAG is generated, which must be downloaded in order to continue mining.
Among all the mining GPUs for Ethereum, the Radeon R9 295X2 boasts of having the highest hash rate. Its hash rate stands at 46 MH/s and is capable of drawing 500-watts of electricity from the wall. With this awesome GPU, you will be sure of pocketing in $586.43 as your annual return. The Radeon R9 295X2 is on sale now and will bring a daily profit ratio 52%. With the $586.43 annual profit in the back of your mind, it is also very important to note that this GPU has a payback period that slightly exceeds two years. Its power cost per day is about $1.44 that will give about $1.61 as its return per day. Its cost per MH/s is $13.04. This is where the $586.43 annual return is obtained.
had a quick question on setting up geth – I’ve gotten to step 7 and while syncing it keeps generating the same few lines of text (“imported new block receipts, imported new block headers”, etc.) should this be expected? how long does this usually take to complete?
Change the Account with lowercases with the hashed workers to the Account with upper/lower (or transfering the workers load) while the eth wallet itself is not case sensitive for payments it doesnt hurt that much if it isnt possible
you can buy a gtx 1070 used for the same price u can buy a used rx 480. the 1070 is better in everything, also in mining? is it worth for running the pc 14h with an 1070 on the limit? i hope amd bring this dumb mining cards asap on the market that all normal dudes can buy the nice midclass gpu’s for gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaims!!!!!!!!! i still can remember a time where the msi gaming x 8gb was available for 249 bucks and some other cards for 220. i havent see this shit comming, if so… i better bought some of this little suckers and make +100 bucks per card… i would call it “bitcoin-mining-gpu-mining” damn!
you seem to only be concerned with hashrate. The power consumption of the 1080ti is close to double that of the 1060. When you add that you have to pay 3X for it on top of that the 1060 is definitely the better value for a business venture in mining (at least at today’s prices).
If you want a low cost of entry into the world of mining, then the AMD RX 480 is an excellent choice. This is because it is a bit older than the AMD Radeon RX 580, so prices are lower – when you can find one in stock. Yep, this is another AMD card that can be difficult to track down thanks to its mining ability. However with 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, it achieves a decent hash rate of 28mh/s, and again doesn’t require too much power. There are also versions available with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM, if you’re looking for an even lower cost mining GPU.
It’s also never too late to start mining. New cryptocurrencies are created everyday, so in the future, if the top currency’s difficulty is too high, you can always choose a different currency. But if it does come to the point where you can’t mine enough currency to pay back your power bill, you can always sell your rig and make most your money back that way.
The same thing applies to Ethereum. The only way to utilize Ethereum is with the product from mining. However, mining Ethereum means more than increasing the volume of Ether in circulation. It is also necessary for securing the Ethereum network as it creates, verifies, publishes, and propagates blocks in the blockchain.
Personally, I’ve found Claymore to be the strongest and best all round miner. It’s easy to set up, I’ve never had any issues with it, and it has a ton of added functionality (e.g. fan management), that I haven’t seen with other miners. It also has the bonus that it can mine two coins at once, which some people have found very useful to optimize their income. There have been reports of anywhere between 3 and 10 percent extra income.
We recommend checking out an Ethereum mining calculator before starting with mining process. An Ethereum mining calculator is an essential tool that will help you work this out, and by entering the above details into the calculator, you’ll be presented with a rough guide of your expected profits. The calculator will automatically enter the current figure for difficulty. However, Ethereum’s high price lures in more miners so that difficulty is very likely to rise in the future.

In terms of profit, at the current hash difficulty, power cost and Ether price, mining with a single AMD Radeon 295×2 you stand to make a monthly profit of roughly $165, or just a little over $2,000 a year. Considering the fact that the prices for an AMD Radeon 295×2 currently start from around the $500 mark, it’s definitely not a bad investment.
Something I’ve done when building out a GPU mining farm, is to do the OS/DRIVERS/MINING setup and then just clone the solid state drive using a 2 bay hard drive dock with offline clone feature built in.
The ASIC chip of choice determines, in large part, the cost and efficiency of a given miner, as ASIC development and manufacture are very expensive processes, and the ASIC chips themselves are often the components that require the most power on a Bitcoin miner.
Scrypt.cc Review: Scrypt.cc allows purchase of KHS in a matter of seconds, start mining right away and even be able to trade your KHS in real time with prices based on supply and demand! All KHashes are safely stored and maintained in 2 secured data-centres.

You should analyze all the necessary investments and related information and ensure that you understand them correctly. Things you need to analyze and comprehend well are like the volatility that has characterized this world of cryptocurrency and getting an ROI after a half a year of being in the business.
However, the cost of mining is far from free in this modern day digital gold rush. Hardware costs and energy consumption represent real financial commitment. Regardless, if you build your own systems or are a PC enthusiast, there’s a good chance you have the spare parts lying around to slap a mining rig together and get cracking.
‘C:\Users\Username>’ the username placeholder is the name of your computer and is the usual display format by the command terminal. Locating Geth is the next step; type in ‘cd/’ into the command prompt terminal; this is an instruction to change directory. ‘C:\>’ should be highlighted now, which means you are currently in the C: drive.
When you are considering to join a ethereum mining pool, look for the following elements. First and foremost, one that has low rates but gives reliable returns. Secondly, consider the location of the server when deciding which one is good. The closer your mining rig will be to the server, the easier it will be to mine.
You can still reinvest all of that maintenance on the subject of hashflare. That will create you more maintenance and extend the mining accord for choice year for the specific invesment. If you invest for example $15,000 for 100TH/s (100,000 GH/s) in addition to you could earn more later $4241,72 per week after the Week 10 and the initial investment according to the currect bitcoin price that got calculated by preev.
Our world is becoming more and more digitalized. Our homes can talk to us, we can look inside of our refrigerators to see what we need without ever opening the door. We can control the lights in our house when we are across the state. Needless to say, technology is in every part of our lives, so it should be no surprise that even our currency is becoming digitalized.
Thanks to both of you, I have checked my worker stats and I am mining at around 16.5~MHs, I have a GTX970, I think this hashrate is roughly whats expected of it. One thing that I do not have is an 0x (to signify a hexadecimal number) before my address, is this something I need? I havent had any payouts yet, but I think dwarfpool pays out at 1 Ether anyway
Glad to have you here! That’s the thing I tell newbies constantly. And its even harder because the equation changes literally every few days as card prices change. Yesterday I bought 6 AMD RX580s because I got a smoking deal on them. It all just depends on the economics of the moment. Its still really hard to beat the performance/energy/price ratio of the GTX 1060 though.

If you have reached this article it means you have decided to go further into the world of Ethereum. As with Bitcoin mining, this cryptocurrency mining has increased its value by at least 2800% in just a year, the trend is only going to continue to rise as more and more people realize the benefits, flexibility and, more importantly, profitability that cryptocurrencies like mining Bitcoin represent.
Ethereum mining can be incredibly lucrative, if you have the proper hardware to do it. You can’t just use the same computer that you use for everyday activities like watching YouTube or sending emails. You need a computer with a high powered graphics card because mining for ether is very time consuming (on your ethereum mining hardware) and on your electric bill.
