The OS is extremely stable and if your rig crashes, the OS will boot up and start mining straight away. The OS also supports up to 16 AMD or NVidia graphics card, which is a huge step up from Windows, which supports a maximum of 8.

Im leaving this review not as a slant on this site but to let you know that the calculator may need updating, Ive got 11.7TH/s and get daily payouts of 0.0021 to 0.0029 where as your calculator says 10 TH/s will give me daily pay outs of 0.003386 which is quite a big difference

Currently, Ethereum uses the Proof of work (PoW) system- this has been the arm supporting blockchain technologies like bitcoin and Ethereum. Proof-of-work refers to the solving of complex equations, which is a basic requirement for a miner to clear for their block to be added to the blockchain. This system has been picked apart for the environmental damage and electric cost it generates. However, through the use of the Dagger Hashimoto algorithm, Ethereum created a way that permits simple home computers to mine efficiently with little expenditure necessary.
And what energy efficient motherboard + cpu would you recommend for that case? I want to buy 2 RX 460s and maybe bump the watts to 300 I don’t mind as long as I can hash 22 MH/s on the same small machine.
One of the more unique elements of a mining rig is having a computer case that can handle 6 GPUs. Luckily people are making cases designed to hold a lot of graphics cards, an open air case is recommended for keeping the rig running optimal & cool.
In a word, your mining rig needs to solve a mathematical algorithm to mine Ethereum. The mining difficulty of the network is a measurement of how difficult this algorithm is to solve. The higher the difficulty, the less Ethereum you receive for each unit of energy the GPU on your mining rig expends. As more miners join the network – the difficulty increases.
It would be very power inefficient since you’re multiplying the power requirement overhead to run the rest of the system. But I love experiments. Try running it and see how it does. Linux will report all OpenCL compatible devices ( can’t remember the exact command line for it right now ) so if you explicitly call Claymore and tell it to work with a given device, it should try.
Generally, any motherboard with PCIe slots on it is suitable for mining—typically one GPU per PCIe slot. The PCIe slots don’t need to be full-length, as we can attach GPUs to 1x slots with the help of risers. With that said, there are potentially some limitations when you start to pack a large number (4+) of GPUs onto one motherboard, even if that board has enough PCIe slots to physically accommodate them. That’s why picking a suitable motherboard is probably your biggest hardware headache if you want to run as many GPUs as possible in your rig.

We decided to examin Bitcoin mining trends in 2016. According to hashrate distribution data released by Blockchain.info over the past 4 days starting March 29, 2016, the table below shows some popular bitcoin mining pools and their market share.
4GB is fine. Overkill really, at least for Linux. If you have an old 2GB stick (or even 1GB!) sitting around and plan to run Linux, you’re good to go. If you want to run Windows, then 4GB is probably a realistic minimum.
I bought 2 year though not 1 year. It has been good but I did ask a question related to z cash but I found out the answer to it in the faq. Would have liked more clarity on the subject at least but I know Genesis is a solid company with a 4 year track record. So far the 75 hash that I have been getting because I bought it with bitcoins were good and stable as of the past two days.
Early Bitcoin client versions allowed users to use their CPUs to mine. The advent of GPU mining made CPU mining financially unwise as the hashrate of the network grew to such a degree that the amount of bitcoins produced by CPU mining became lower than the cost of power to operate a CPU. The option was therefore removed from the core Bitcoin client’s user interface.
Every Ethereum miner needs to plan in terms of mining rigs and their power apart from budgetary provisions for covering electrical expenses. You should also be aware that consumption of electricity is a significant aspect of Ethereum mining and therefore miners in certain countries such as Iceland or China are able to able to achieve greater cost efficiency due to relatively cheaper electricity in these countries.
As I mentioned above, you can choose to build your mining rig with a nice custom built case or you can save money and use a plastic storage crate or milk crate.  Both work equally as well except one won’t look nearly as good.
The Ethererum Mining plans will run for a maximum of 24 months, however, should Ethereum (“ETH”) switch to proof-of-stake before the end of the term, we will use the leased hardware on a best-effort basis to mine the most profitable coin with that hardware for you.
