Just seemed inappropriate is all. But it is trendy as all get out. i know Tom has to be unbiased so even if the miners have single-handedly ruined pricing, put most GFX cards out of reach of many users and basically just bleeped things up Tom’s can’t get personal. They are earning money. Putting food in their kid’s tummies and all that. Who wouldn’t like a little extra on the side. My 1080 Ti was purchased at($10 less) than MSRP back in January.
Fans. Liquid cooling requires more thought as it is the GPUs that require the cooling and you will have to purchase the correct GPU liquid cooling add-on, or purchase a GPU with the liquid cooling built in.
An Ethereum mining rig is a configuration of two or more Ethereum mining GPUs. In most cases a rig consists of four or more GPUs. Obviously they’re more expensive than one GPU, but they also have far superior hashing power.
Geth needs to link up with the network before anything becomes fully operational. Type in ‘geth —rpc’ in the terminal and then press enter (you should be used to this by now), this action starts the download of Ethereum’s blockchain and synchronizing with the global network. This process is time intensive and is dependent on how large the blockchain is currently and the speed of your internet connection. Make sure you wait until the completion of this process before mining.
Cloud Mining is profitable. I do invest into cloud mining for about 1 1/2 years now. Mainly i use Hashflare as my mining income, be sure to check them out. They generate me about $80/day and i’ve only invested $4,500. You won’t have to put in that much tho. Hashflare is giving you a one year contract with any investment you make, that means any money you invest will bring you profits for 1 year. Any money will do fine, here is some example math:
Even though currency mining seems to be an easy get rich quick scheme, it does not come without risk, the main risk being: fire. If you have a relatively large mining operation with poor cooling, and you’re using bad power supplies with multiple extensions cables going into one outlet, something could catch fire very easily, making not only your rig worthless, but most likely your house too. As long as you use parts from reliable companies, and keep your rigs cool and dust free, this shouldn’t be an issue. Another risk to watch out for is if you have young children or small animals. They could easily break your rig by accident, either by throwing something at it or giving it a static shock.
This guide shows you the basics of solo mining, it should give you a good idea of how everything is connected, if you would like to use a mining pool instead you can try our How to connect to an Ethereum mining pool is the list of ETH mining pools that are great right now with minimum withdrawal limit of 0.01 ETH. And these are the most popular top 5 Ethereum mining pools that do not require registration.
I’ve listed these in the order I would recommend them to any friend just getting started with building a mining rig and starting to earn passive income with Ethereum mining. This is simply a list of known ethereum mining pools. No pool operators pay me to list their website here.
Step 4: Choosing an Ethereum mining pool can be a bit tricky and you can look at our guide here on how and why to pick them. For the sake of argument we have chosen nanopool which have this connection here:
We’ve ranked Nvidia’s current crop of mining cards, according to their overall value for mining. Older Nvidia cards with 4 GBs (or less) of VRAM are excluded. Their performance was usually bad, and it will only worsen more as epochs advance. Then the DAG size increases.
Mining can often be a quite strenuous process that is not error free. So if you are setting up your own miner, it can be useful to interact with some communities in order to get proper guidance. One of my favorite communities is Reddit, and although Reddit has a vast array of sub-communities, or subreddits, there are some for mining. Such as:
Ethpool and Ethermine are operated from two different websites but contribute to the same pool. With ~25.0% of the network hash rate power, this pool is the largest one on the Ethereum network. Ethermine currently has over 62,000 miners using the pool software while Ethpool has a little under 900.
I’ve had success both ways and so if you run into an issue with one method delete the drivers and try the other method.  And if you do need to remove your drivers use the DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) program from Guru3d.com to remove everything cleanly and then start over.
Yes, GTX 1070 or GTX 1070Ti are the best cards that you can buy. They can really mine Ethereum as well as Zcash at a good output. Talking about the power it might use somewhere in between 180W to 200W per GPU.
With the above stated, mining Ethereum is one confirmed way to get the cryptocurrency. Miners are rewarded for every block that they try to solve hence, this reward is shared among the miners according to the contribution of each person. Before joining a mining pool, it is important to know the top five mining pool out there. In the mining industry, it is advisable and considered wise to join a mining pool that is profitable. Hence, there is a need to know which mining pools are the best.

  1. Again, you will need the bare minimum, 4GB will do. I chose to go with 8GB just in case. Also, if you’re going to be doing solo mining, it’s a good idea to have as much as possible at the start as this will make syncing the block chain a lot faster. Of course, once that’s finished, you can remove the excess.
If you believe in the Ethereum concept (despite the failure of the DAO and doubts regarding the viability of Ethereum’s approach), you can support and gain voice in the Ethereum network through mining.
