With a Cloud Service background of more than 25 years, we have developed our own server configuration for every mining project (ETH, BTC etc) and are building miners with components purchased directly from the manufacturers (GPUs from AMD, NVIDIA etc) at large quantities for better pricing. We have optimized the build time by standardizing the configuration and the software delivery system.
Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are designed to be difficult to mine with the passage of time as more and more units are mined. With increasing difficulty in mining and the need for better hardware, a lot of people can come together to mine. This collection of people is known as a mining pool.
I have purchased a 60MH/s Litecoin contract. The first payout was worth about $3.60. At this rate I should get my investment back in about 220 days, which is good, considering that the contract runs 730 days. This means 510 days of pure profit. I think it is a pretty good deal (lets hope Litecoin goes up further!).
The parameters can vary significantly between operators. Our advice is to always start with small investments and increase the investments over time. Read our blog and first page to see the latest updates.
Though this guide is mainly focused on the Proof of Work (PoW) side of mining, you should be wary of Proof of Stake (PoS), as Ethereum will be swapping over to this method in the near future. The difference between PoW and PoS is that PoS does not require graphics cards, nor does it require a very powerful system at all. PoS relies on you “staking” your coins to the network; the more coins you stake, the higher chance you get of receiving the transaction fees of other Ether investors. Another benefit of PoS is that the computers are not very expensive, nor do they draw lots of power, making PoS a far greener alternative to PoW. There are also no block rewards in PoS, thereby making the transaction fees the only reward.
M2 to PCI Adapters: $20. You need two adapters for one rig, $10 each. They are made in China and are somewhat problematic. Some batches can be okay while others, every second or third adapter is not working correctly.
What I recommend is running a command prompt (I assume you’re in Windows) and then navigating to the Ethereum folder and running the bat file. Doing it this way, the output will not disappear and you’ll be able to get the error message which will help in diagnosis.
Finally, the Biostar TB250-BTC is also aimed at miners, and costs considerably less than the Asus and ASRock The Biostar board “only” supports 6 GPUs, but that’s likely all that the majority of us need. If price is your primary consideration, the TB250-BTC should be at the top of your list for 6 GPU rig builds.
From simple crypto investments (buy & hold), speculative day trades, investments in cloud mining contracts, to building a custom 12 GPU ethereum mining rig. Sound enough? Not for me, it was yesterday I decided to…
According to coinmarketcap.com website, the total crypto currency market cap in July 25, 2017 is $95 bln. Bitcoin leads the market taking almost half of that =  47.4% or $45 bln, followed by Ethereum…
Could you write an article about how the cryptocurrencies get the money to pay to their miners. What they do with all the computations your graphic cards are making and if every time they increase the difficulty of mining a coin, does the additional calculations produce something of value or just create busy work. How safe is it allow somebody you don’t know to have unlimited, unmonitored access to you computer.
AMD introduced their new 14 nanometer (nm) RX series card at a hard-to-resist $200 price in 2016 and crypto currency mining became much more profitable as the smaller 14nm fabrication process gives this card impressive performance and low power consumption.

  1. The mining demand has driven prices well above their normal retail price. That said, the card achieves a hashrate similar to the GTX 1079 Ti and 1080 models. And it’s a fraction of the price and lower power consumption, at least compared to the 1080. However, you must keep in mind that this older technology will have a lower resale value than these Nvidia models (once it’s no longer suitable for mining).
If you’ve ever heard of cryptocurrencies, you’ve probably heard of mining. The sole reason most cryptocurrencies can function is due to mining. Without miners, the blockchain can’t be validated every time someone wants to make a transaction. If the blockchain doesn’t get validated, there is simply no way to know which transaction is legitimate and which is not.
Sorry for the long reply, but here are devices that do what the website i sent you do to your exact site instead of the average of the zip code used. The first one i list is one that i used when i taught PV (photovotaic) system design classes at the local community college. Honestly, the website gives a solid number that can be adjusted to fit the locality better and i am always happy to help with anything like this since i have 7 years of PV design experience:
If you believe in the Ethereum concept (despite the failure of the DAO and doubts regarding the viability of Ethereum’s approach), you can support and gain voice in the Ethereum network through mining.
