In selecting the most effective rig, it is all about striking the right equilibrium between the how much power you intend your GPU to have and the amount of electricity and energy you are prepared to part with. Rigs having the following GPUs are the most preferred regarding performance.

Comparing the MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of the Founders Edition versions of these cards (yea, right ☹), the 1080ti costs ~2.33 times what a 1060 6GB costs and it consumes ~2.08 times the electricity. Assuming that the higher the hash rate, the more money you get. Then in theory, for currencies where the 1080ti consistently yields over ~2.5 to 3+ times the hash rate of the 1060, you may be better off with the ti. Again, this is making some wild assumptions.

When choosing a GPU for mining, you want a good balance of low power usage (assuming you pay for electricity) and great hash rates. I’ve listed my recommendations below in the order of what I would buy if I was building a rig today.
When you hear the term “cryptocurrency”, probably the first thing that comes to mind is Bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency out there. Bitcoin may be the most popular, but it certainly isn’t the only digital currency making waves at this time. There are well over 100 cryptocurrencies available at the moment, with numerous new ones being born almost on a daily basis; however, most of them are just poor copycats of Bitcoin, adding no real value to the market, so they fail to get traction and eventually die within days, weeks or months, at best. Cryptocurrencies that do survive, though, start gaining popularity, and are in for the long run. One of the best examples of such currency, and probably Bitcoin’s fiercest competitor, is Ether – a cryptocurrency that is trending right now and has seen a massive growth over the past few months, which made it one of the most interesting options for miners.
You may have to ensure you have the correct virtual memory enabled (minimum 16GB). To do this, search for system in the start menu. Open system and on the left hand side click ‘Advanced System Settings.’ Go under the advanced tab, under performance settings, and advanced again. Then click ‘Change’ under virtual memory. Uncheck the box that states to ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’ and then input a custom size of 16384 (or whatever is the maximum allowable value) into the Initial and Maximum size fields. This will prevent you from having any errors with virtual memory.
Apart from being one of the most affordable GPUs available on the market today, it is also one of the most economical. While only consuming 150 watts of electric power, this CPU presents a hash rate of 25 MH/s.  When compared to Radeon R9 295X2 and Radeon R9 HD 7990, the cost of power for this GPU is relatively low, at only $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $7.96, which is quite impressive compared to most GPUs that are currently on the cryptocurrency market. The return per day for the Radeon RX 480 is $1.21, while its return per year is $440.91. On sale at Amazon now, you will have this GPU and begin mining Ethereum without many problems.
This card is an all-round excellent performer, so that mining demand has driven its price from the regular $400 range to over $700, and for me, this is the only real drawback to this card. We like Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1070 for its performance/dollar. However, this implementation costs more and artificially limits the platform’s potential. On the other hand, if you’re able to find the card at a lower price, don’t hesitate to snap it up because it won’t disappoint!
Recently Nano Pool is acting weird, and hashrate drops for some reason, It is happening across at all rigs. Can you please let me know which Pool are best and having accurate hashrate reports and puncture payout.
Depending what you do, more VRAM will improve your performance. The present difference between a 4-gig and 8-gig version of the same card can be up to 5 MH/s. MH/s stands for millions of hashes per second, the speed of the hardware solving mathematical algorithms to get Ethereum.
Step 15 CPU mining: Type in ethminer and press “enter” and you will start mining with your CPU. Again you will need to create a DAG file the first time you do this which can take some time. But after that is complete your Geth program downloaded in step 1 should start talking to your ethminer program and you should start mining!

A: As long as your system meets the general requirements and has at least one GPU with at least 3GB of RAM, you can mine Ethereum.  Some Gaming laptops do have high end cards, but with the considerable heat generated from mining there could be other impacts to your laptop so it’s best to go with a desktop build.  Virtualized environments that you can rent usually do not have enough powerful dedicated GPU in them, or are simply not profitable if they do.  There are currently no ASICs for Ethereum (as it is designed to be an “ASIC Resistant” Proof Of Work hashing algorithim, so if you see ads for one – RUN.  ASIC’s are still profitable for mining some coins (Bitcoin, Dash and Litecoin), but for home built Mining Rigs, Ethereum and other altcoins are still profitable to mine (whereas Bitcoin is not profitable on a home pc – even with many powerful GPU’s do the Bitcoin ASIC technology available).
I reckon just try running Claymore and see what it says. I’m not up to date on Ethereum mining but I heard that the ETH blockchain has gotten too big to sync normally. I don’t know how miners are handling that but presumably some kind of pruning or other solution is used.
With so many mining pools at play in the market, solo miners are finding it more difficult to get blocks to process and the Ethereum mining rig that a solo-miner uses, needs to have massive processing power to be able to compete with the pools, which can be very expensive.

    When you execute a transaction or contract in the Ethereum network, you use gas. A calculation that requires more hashes or computing capability will need more gas. While gas is not a token, it is usually measured and paid out as a fraction of ether. Gas is important because it assigns a value to transactions within the network. It prevents miners from performing computations that have no value to the system and makes it costly for scammers to attack.
