Cloud mining is definitely the easiest way to start mining, as you can purchase a mining contract whenever you like. You do not need to setup a rig or even have an internet connection, the company which hosts the miners will do this all for you. You’re only required to pay monthly for the hashing power, however these contracts can turn out to be quite unprofitable, as contracts tend to last for 24 months, and with the networks increasing difficulty you may start losing money every month. Another negative is that you will not be able to sell the rigs, and will not be able to cancel the contracts. However if you do decide to start cloud mining, one of the largest companies for this is Genesis Mining. Nice Hash is another cloud mining company which unlike Genesis does not lock you into a contract and allows you to cancel any time you want, making this an excellent option. Nice Hash also allows you to sell your hashing power for Bitcoins, so you can set your own mining rig to mine on the Nice Hash servers and earn Bitcoins. However, this can turn out to be less profitable than mining an altcoin by yourself. You can use this code: MRT1YF on Genesis Mining for a 3% discount on any purchase!
Ether is necessary if you want to operate on the decentralized platform Ethereum. Payments are done in Ether to execute operations on Ethereum network. The currency avoids spam programs and keeps the network healthy.
Ethereum was crowdfunded during August 2014 by fans all around the world. It is developed by ETHDEV with contributions from great minds across the globe. Eobot has Cloud Mining to help build ETH. You can find out more about Ethereum at https://www.ethereum.org
Now granted at the end of the six months you could turn around and sell your rig to someone else, or just keep mining. But eventually, the yield will be less than your $100 a month power cost unless ETH is going up by more than 50% per month (that could well be – do you feel lucky punk?).
What I will do is use Tonga Bios Reader to make a custom bios to underclock the core and see if the hashrate changes. The 380 I have in my Windows desktop has faster timings (Samsung RAM) than the cards in my Linux rig and therefore hashes at 22Mhs instead of 21. Because of that, I’ll try underclocking it to 880Mhz instead of 840 (22/21 * 840).
Long considered the workhorse of GPU mining, the time has sadly arrived when the RX 400 and 500 series must be put out to pasture—at least for Ethereum mining purposes. Unless you intend to mine other altcoins and can find an RX 580/570/480/470 at a good price, you should shun the rip-off prices that sellers often charge for these cards.
MineShop is a mining hardware store based in Ireland with a wide range of variety in mining produts. MineShop provides discounted delivery for large orders, a 14 days return policy and support through Skype.
Very good guide and an interesting read. I was wondering, lets say you can only lay hands on 3 gpu’s initially. Is it worth bringing up the rig with half gpu’s and then adding the rest as you can find them?
A: You can use any ETH wallet address for mining, but some exchanges do not allow mining or do not allow very small deposits so double check with the site if mining directly to a web-deposit address.  A good alternative to downloading the full Mist wallet and Ethereum blockchain is MyEtherWallet.com, which still allows you to manage your Ether wallet address and maintain control of your private keys (which is important for security and/or wallet backup and restoration if needed).
Hi guys, Finally i have decided to to invest on dash mining.i am so escited by doing this because dash has great potential. So even if difficulty is growing up just mine it guys. Pick your own dash mining it inside genesis mining.
In your test calculations, you will likely see that some cloud mining services will be profitable for a few months, but, as the difficulty level of bitcoin increases, you would probably start to make a loss in four to six months and beyond.
It is worth mentioning that this is a side project. I will keep working on 1stminingrig as I did before – I’ve got new articles on the way, I will keep being involved in the community as much as I humanly can.
@themagus Yes last year it was more profitable to buy Ether. If you invested 50€ in ETH Cloud Mining last year, you received about 2.2 Ether until now. If you had bought Ether for 10$, you would have 5 ETH. But now with the high ETH price, I calculated that Cloud Mining is much more profitable than buying ETH. (Increasing mining difficulty is not included in the calculation) Only after 1 year you will mine more ETH for the same price as if you buy Ether directly for the current price.
Hashflare offers 1 year Ether cloud mining contracts. No maintenance fee applies. Daily payouts in ETH. Remember that Genesis Mining offers 2 years Ethereum cloud mining contracts when you compare this operator.
I bought nvidia for the same reason but I would simply add that nvidia is good for most of the coins, it’s only that RX cards are a bit better for some coin. You can make decent money with Nvidia on Ethash.
For people who don’t pay for electricity in a month or 2 is the best time to enter mining since the used market is already flooding with graphics cards as we speak. The prices will drop and you can pick up a RX580 for 200€ easy.
