Nvidia users will have MUCH more flexibility when it comes to mining other coins whereas AMD RX users are more of a one trick pony for Ethash. AMD RX cards can mine other crpyto, but not nearly as good as Nvidia cards.

Gamers and computer enthusiasts upgrade their systems more than just about anyone. Motherboards, CPUs, and graphics cards sitting around after an upgrade are the perfect starting points for a hobbyist mining machine. You’ve already paid for these components and extracted value out of them. What’s more, you know their history and how well they’ve been cared for, which isn’t necessarily the case when buying discount used parts on eBay. With sufficient leftovers, you should be able to cobble together a competent mining machine, even if it’s not terribly impressive.
If you set your clocks in Afterburner for example, you should check GPU-Z to see if those clocks have really applied. Because if you say your hashrate is not being affected by you adjusting core, that means your core hasn’t been adjusted.

New Mine Ltd was founded by Ibrahim Alkurd in 2016. The company specialises in the manufacturing and hosting of GPU rigs. Ibrahim created New Mine due to a lack of reliable companies within the space. He has been in the cryptocurrency space for 3 years and initially started in the market as a BTC broker. Since then he has extensive experience in ASIC and GPU mining as well as holdings in a range of altcoins. New Mine Ltd is currently in the process of creating a hedge fund for digital currencies.
So is it worth it to start mining Ethereum in December 2017? It depends. With 6 8GB RX 480 GPUs, for example, you’ll get about 150-180 Mh/s if you optimize them with a modded BIOS. At current rates that’s about .13 ETH per week, and at current prices that’s about $81 profit. That’s a pretty minimal return, and considering the incoming “Casper” update will slowly but surely nullify traditional mining operations, a $2,000 rig, assuming current rates, would probably not reach return-on-investment by what it mines alone in any reasonable time frame.
Profits for miners have steadied out over the last few weeks since the price of ETH doubled. As of this writing, a 150 Mh/s 6 GPU mining rig consuming roughly 1,000W of electricity at a rate of $0.1 per KW/h is turning almost .13 ETH per week, which is far less ETH than could be earned earlier this year, but still a non-negligible profit of as much as $350 per month at current prices.

Kumamoto-Energy, a local power producer in Japan, has announced that they will use solar energy for mining cryptocurrencies. Japan Looks to Greener Energy Cryptocurrency mining farms are trying to reduce costs and consume as less energy as possible, but sometimes the task is very difficult. Japanese miners are trying to consume renewable energy make mining activities more sustainable in the long term. Cloud mining is basically a service that will allow you to pay for hashing power, which is hosted in data centres and sold in Gigahash/seconds (GH/s). Many cloud mining plans are available online but it is important to choose a reliable provider.
In the meanwhile, we’ve started to build the shelves for the rigs. The design we’ve came up with does not take a lot of resources while at the same time is enough to safely hold all the rigs. At first, we were about to order steel bars for the rigs when we’ve realized that aluminum ones would do even better.

For example, if this were Jan 2016 and we were mining ETH, and spent $3000 for a rig and supplies that produced us (for academic purposes) 30 ETH through the end of the year. That $8.22 price on 12/31 means our mining got us $246. Not profitable; go back and look at the historical posts saying as much when people asked if mining was “worth it” and everyone said to not even try it. Those same 30 ETH are worth $7560 today (assumes not selling at the peak, not mining beyond 30 ETH). All of a sudden, it was retroactively “worth it” to mine, and those naysayers were wrong. All that happened was hodling.
What I recommend is running a command prompt (I assume you’re in Windows) and then navigating to the Ethereum folder and running the bat file. Doing it this way, the output will not disappear and you’ll be able to get the error message which will help in diagnosis.
The US dollar is backed by all of the nation’s assets. And that includes its gold reserves. The US no longer fixes the value of the dollar to gold, which means it does not have to add gold to its reserves whenever it prints money.
They also have regular promotions, where their customers receive automatic upgrades or promo codes to have percentages added to their hashpower, or to have percentages off of their contract price. Watch your email after a signup (you may also use HF17PLUSBTC3 discount code for an immediate 3% discount). At Hashflare you can also mine Bitcoin and a few other crypto-coins.
Ethereum cloud mining is a popular product among cryptocurrency enthusiasts. The Ethereum network is decentralized and based on the currency Ether. Ether is abbreviated as ETH. Both are further described later on this page. Ethereum cloud mining contracts have increased in popularity. This is because Ethereum seems to be a platform for the future. We list several companies with Ethereum cloud mining or Ether cloud mining. Vitalik Buterin created Ethereum.

Ether supply is not infinite. The overall amount of ether and the network operations was decided at the 2014 presale. No more than 18 million Ether gets issued every year, which is about 25 percent of the first issue. It serves as a system to reduce inflation.
Ever since I’m building new cryptocurrency mining rigs I’m including SSD rather than HDD. The reason is SSD is fast and by using SSD I would increase the transfer speed and decrease the time. Also, other things that I think about SSD are – They use less power consuming and also if you are starting up your mining rig the boot time is reduced and soon you will be mining.
 – A standard keyboard, mouse and monitor are needed.  If managing your rig remotely (not covered here in this beginner guide) you will want to get a headless hdmi dummy plug to plug into your rig so it boots into Windows properly for remote access.
Be wary of the networks increasing difficulty. Even though you may make $10 one day, the next day you may make $9, so you should always be open minded about mining different coins when the time comes.
Got my first payout of ~$70CAD(in BTC). I had a bunch of downtime this first week due to tweaking my clocks, drivers, algorithms, etc, so I’m hoping to keep in the $70-80CAD/week range with mining ETH and ZEC for ~2 months. I’ve decided to put invest my weekly payout(+cash to equal $100 total) into whichever currency has hit a low for the day, unless of course BTC is low at the time, in which case I’ll ride it out for a bit. I started with a $70 payout and $30 of my own money, and I’m currently at $120. I know that’s no guarantee of how things will go, but I think playing the currency market is a much better option than dumping more money into cards.
Pro-tips: check out the following GPU’s: AMD Rx 470/480 Rx 570/580, AMD R9 range, HD 7990 / 7950 (if used cards are available, try to get them from a gamer instead of a miner, with a warranty if possible).  For Nvidia, look at the 1060 / 1070 / 1080 series cards.  As with everything, do your own due diligence to evaluate GPU’s based on their hashrate, power requirements, availability and price.
Ethereum is about to switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake scheme called Casper. Some of the included incentives for this transition are higher scalability, improved protocol economics, environmental friendliness, and easier implementation of sharding protocols. It is currently not yet decided when Ethereum is switching to PoS, but it’s reasonable to expect that it will occur in late 2018. If Ethereum switches to proof of stake, I’m not sure what role miners will have, but it’s possible that Ethereum mining will no longer be possible after that, unless a hybrid Proof of Work/Proof of Stake model is implemented.
Have a look at the quality-price ratio when choosing your video cards. Feel free to contact 2Miners support for an advice. By default you could purchase NVIDIA GTX 1060/1070 – this is a good option for beginners: there are many brands to choose from, and these cards are universal, so they work both on Ethash and Equihash algorithms. Do not combine AMD and NVIDIA GPUs on the same rig – if you choose AMD, then buy 8 AMD GPUs, if you select NVIDIA, then buy 8 NVIDIA GPUs.
It’s hard for me to tell yet – how legit is HashFlare, they seem pretty legit to me, but I haven’t yet withdrawn any  funds from there yet (well, I’ve been with HashFlare cloud mining just for a month and mining BTC)

Mining capability is measured in the number of attempts to find a block a miner can perform. Each attempt consists of creating a unique block candidate, and creating a digest of the block candidate by means of the SHA-256d, a cryptographic hashing function. Or, in short, a hash. Since this is a continuous effort, we speak of hashes per second or [H/S].
A Radeon RX 470 has a modest hash rate of 24.0MH/s. Its power cost per day is exactly the same as the Radeon RX 480 at $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $9.13, giving it a return per day of $1.15 and a return per year of $418.16. Radeon RX 470 will cost you $219.
After you calculate the amount of kWh you will be using every month, multiply the kWh per month by the amount you pay for electricity in your country, and then you will find out the cost. Take your monthly power cost away from the value of the amount of the currency you mine to find your monthly profits. Though most mining calculators include this calculation for you, it can be very useful to find the exact amount you will be spending on power.

It’s been a while since we updated this series this past summer, but our answer for the “Is it worth it?” question has remained mostly the same. Ethereum saw increasing difficulty throughout the fall and little increase in price, which made mining steadily less and less attractive. But recently, Ethereum has boomed to be priced at around $700-$800, which has led to a resurgence in mining interest.
