Second only to Bitcoins, Ethereum and Ether are among the hottest digital assets today when it comes to the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain based technologies. Mining for Ethereum is much easier compared to mining for Bitcoins simply because of the fact that it is possible to do so even at a home setup without having to invest much.
I am a lightweight as far as mining goes, however, there is still room to make money on ETH. If you already have hardware, turn it on and let it run. If you don’t have hardware, I can see it being difficult to ROI. A lot depends on price and difficulty, price has been going down as of late, while difficulty has been going up, HOWEVER, its always possible that people quit mining and difficulty goes back down. That is almost a win win. Less competition, that is if you are in it for the long haul, however you have pretty much missed the boat on that.
Hello, I have tried to check the calculator and got shocked on the income shown by the calculator today 11/11/2017. For example if I buy 1.5TH/s it shows that I will be paid 0.223638 BTC daily, or be paid 1.565466 BTC in Seven days and be paid Total 20.127420BTC in three months. Is this true? Is this Calculator fake?
Update, 2/5/2018: We have a new article posted detailing CyptoNote (Monero) mining performance with AMD’s Threadripper processor with a CPU-optimized algorithm, alongside a handful of other X86 processors and a powerful GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU.
With projects like Golem you’ll be able to hire out your compute power through Ethereum to industries such as science, mining, CGI movie producers, etc…who generally need huge capital to invest in their own super computer data centers.
There are real figure heads who run Ethereum unlike Bitcoin, which is owned by nobody. Ethereum also features decentralized apps. The Ethereum blockchain is the base, and other people can build decentralized blockchains on top of Ethereum.
You will need a large amount of money for good hardware. This investment will be difficult to return with profit, the return will take several years. I do not advise you to mine, better participate in bounty campaigns.
Radeon R9 HD 7990 is yet another highly sought after Graphic Processing Unit by Ethereum miners. It enjoyed the highest popularity ratings prior to introduction of Radeon R9 295X2. In spite of this many seasoned miners continue to use Radeon R9 HD 7990 in spite of its higher price tag in relation to its hash power that stands at 36 MH/s. Radeon R9 HD 7990 delivers greater power efficiency at 300 Watts. Radeon R9 HD 7990 sports 6GB HDD45 RAM. Radeon R9 HD 7990 is undoubtedly the second most ideal GPU for Ethereum mining after R9 295X2.
Look at it this way – if the price of ETH is going up and you’re relying on that to make a $ profit then just buy ETH – you’re guaranteed to make a profit with zero overhead for buying hardware. If you are given the hardware or can buy it cheaply (I detail the numbers above) then you can still make a profit, I discussed that scenario above. But so far I haven’t come across a mining contract that wasn’t completely rigged to be less profitable than buying ETH in the first place.
The thing I liked the most about today is how we were able to build about 80% of the office. We have used aluminum bars and plasterboards to build the office partition. Office door installation is now also 90% completed – there are a couple of aesthetic details remaining here and there, but the door is already functional.
MinerEU is very happy to have Genesis Mining as our trustworthy partner. We have already recommended Genesis-Mining to thousands of our existing customers who are happy and satisfied with their excellent services and products.
If you’re not already handy with computers, Linux/Windows scripting and command line, hardware troubleshooting, know how ethereum works, and can wait 2+ months to get the possibility of breaking even on your hardware purchase, you’ll get more for your money and time by focusing on learning how cryptocurrencies and trading work and perhaps invest some money (but only as much as you are willing to lose) and start trading it.
i bought one and it came as promised, in a reasonable time frame and in perfect working order. I ended up tweaking the overclocking settings to get 168 mh/s and had it as high as 171! Overall, I am very satisfied.
Many of the Liberty Con attendees, sponsors, and organizations were very interested in cryptocurrency solutions and blockchain technology as a free market concept that can help remove the chains of tyranny… read more.
Alternatively you can source some of you components from gpuShack, on our second mining rig we are using the MOBO/CPU/RAM/SSD Bundle for 5 GPUs. Remember to use the promo code CRYPTOCOMPARE gets 5% discount off your purchase.
These figures will change based on when you run this analysis, but for purposes of the example here we would net 109 ETH annually. If sold at the current price, $1537 will be earned from which we subtract the electricity cost of $493. This nets a respectable profit of $1045.
Now you’re talking about difficulty increase of 100%, which with this rate is easily going to happen before summer, might even be by march. Hopefully price will increase as well, but at some point we’ll be seeing a saturated market (especially once ETH goes PoS), so your prediction here is that 12-18months payback period. While i’d not speculate more than 6-8 months in the future. Because we can’t possibly know what will happen once PoS happens.
The DAO crowdfunding project has stirred up a resurgence in the Ether price, which had fallen and hit a patch of sideways activity following a previous rally. At time, CoinMarketCap.com reports the Ether price at $14.05 USD.
it will go down even more, not only because you can mine less and less but also the value of the coin is sinking and sinking (from 400$ per eth down to 200 and keeps sinking) and electricity cost is rising in many countries
A slightly more expensive miner would differ in its PSU and GPU, but otherwise should look identical. Instead of using an RX 460, it might use an RX 470 (or even 480). Unfortunately, the prices of higher end cards has gone through the roof. I wouldn’t advise anything beefier than a 460 — just enough to get your feet wet mining crypto without costing a fortune in build costs and power.

This guide is going to show you how to build an Ethereum Mining rig yourself which has two main steps – choosing and sourcing your equipment and then putting it together! Depending on times its probably going to take you a week or so to get all the pieces and then another half a day fiddling with configurations etc. Its the same as building your own computer normally but with a few extra considerations that mainly involve which GPU’s you pick.
While you will still be using your GPUs or ASICs, you have the choice to choose between mining in a pool, or by yourself, hence “solo” mining. Pool mining is where you join with a group of other miners and every miner contributes to mining blocks. The difference between this and solo mining is that your payouts are more consistent. Solo mining is hard, especially if you are running a small rig because you will most likely not find a block for a very long time unless you get very lucky. You can use the Coin Warz calculator to estimate how long it will take you to mine a block by yourself. Another benefit of pool mining is that it’s more consistent. You will get your payments consistently, unlike solo mining where it may take a very long time to get your payout. I recommend the Ethermine.org and Nanopool.org pools, each have a large list of crypto-pools to choose from. You can also check if your rig is online here, as well as how much crypto you have mined.
Nvidia GPU’s:  To get the latest Nvidia GeForce drivers go to https://www.geforce.com/drivers and then enter in your card info and click “Start Search” and then download the current version from the results.
For example, the RX 580’s hashrate has fallen from 23 MH/s (140 epochs) down to 18.5 MH/s (162 epochs). While the RX range is still great for mining other GPU coins, it’s quickly becoming obsolete for Ethereum mining.
The first option is straightforward, if not a bit more expensive. Here is an example of an open-air frame that will accommodate up to 6 GPUs. Here’s another option. You’ll pay a premium going this route, but it’ll save you some time and effort.
As you can see here, our hypothetical mining rig is more efficient and profitable than some of the best mining equipment on the market right now. We are assuming four GPUs that mine 40 MH/s each. The hardware specs are four GPUs, plus a processor, a motherboard, and a power supply rated at 1,000 Watts of electricity. The cost of this rig would be approximately $3,000.

  1. Ever since I’m building new cryptocurrency mining rigs I’m including SSD rather than HDD. The reason is SSD is fast and by using SSD I would increase the transfer speed and decrease the time. Also, other things that I think about SSD are – They use less power consuming and also if you are starting up your mining rig the boot time is reduced and soon you will be mining.
As the price of Ethereum hovers around $300, you may be wondering to yourself whether or not it’s worthwhile to begin mining. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is a proof-of-work coin that uses miners to confirm network transactions. The profitability of mining varies from person to person and changes over time – usually becoming less profitable as the coin matures.
The Bitcoin Gold GPU Miner 2000 H/s from Ethereumminer.eu  is a pre-built mining rig that offers the potential of a pretty excellent profit. While values may fluctuate, you could see this rig paying for itself after not long at all. Especially as it has recently had a price cut – something of a rarity with mining devices which usually see price rises! This rig can also be customised to suit your needs and budget.
