Cryptocurrency mining is one of the hottest topics around at this time, and it’s easy to see why: with the prices of all the important cryptocurrencies going up and reaching all-time highs, it is now more profitable than ever to get into the mining business and start earning. Getting started with cryptocurrency mining is not as easy as it sounds, though, as you will need a bit of technical know-how in order to pick the right components and get mining. Of course this card costs a whopping $3000 each.  Six Titan V GPUs in a miner would get you a 492 MH/s rate while setting you back a cool $18,000 USD.  And with a power demand of 250 watts you’ll be mining for 17 months before you break even. But then you don’t care about profit right?
When reading the specifications for ASICs on this page is that they should be interpreted as being indicative, rather than authoritative. Many of the figures will have come from the manufacturers, who will present their technology in the best light – be that high hash rates that in practice may not be very efficient and require additional cooling, or very high efficiency at a cost of hash rate and risking being slow in the race against difficulty adjustments.
One of the advantages of Ethereum over Bitcoin or Litecoin has to do with the algorithm chosen to validate the proof-of-work (PoW). While BTC relies on SHA-256 and Litecoin on Scrypt for its hash function, Ethereum calls on an algorithm called Ethash, created especially for this purpose. In practice, it was designed from the start to prevent the development of dedicated ASICs to mine it.

Proof of Work is where you have to run powerful computers that have high hash rates. Hash rates are the number of “hashes,” or numbers a computer can come up with every second, needed to solve a block. Both of these types of mining have a difficulty factor to them where the more miners there are on the network, the lower the chance you have of mining a block. In other words, the lower your reward is. Here is a good website which has lots of information on the major cryptocurrencies, including their difficulties, block times, and block reward. However, the cost of mining is far from free in this modern day digital gold rush. Hardware costs and energy consumption represent real financial commitment. Regardless, if you build your own systems or are a PC enthusiast, there’s a good chance you have the spare parts lying around to slap a mining rig together and get cracking.  
Ethereum is distributed among a public blockchain, much like Bitcoin, but it has a completely different blockchain protocol than Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s blockchain is based on proof of work (PoW), while Ethereum’s blockchain is soon to become based on proof of stake (PoS).

Set up SSH: If you’re going to set up SSH, there are two important things you need to do. Firstly, set up port forwarding on your router, so that traffic redirects to your rig. Secondly, use the below commands, to change the SSH port to something different e.g. 2221. While this won’t stop an attack there is a port scan, it will reduce the possibility of an attack by a crawler. You can also consider using private & public keys to 100% ensure that only you can access the rig.
This is outsourcing the mining. Cloud mining companies will charge you a fee, usually for a fixed-term contract. A short contract might be one year.Cloud mining is profitable because the GPUs are bought in bulk, hence at discounts.
Ethereum mining pools significantly increase your chance of acquiring Ether. This is because Ethers probability of allocation, just like other cryptocurrencies, is proportional to relative productivity.
An application-specific integrated circuit (abbreviated as ASIC) is an integrated circuit (IC) customized for a particular use, rather than intended for general-purpose use. In Bitcoin mining hardware, ASICs were the next step of development after CPUs, GPUs and FPGAs. Capable of easily outperforming the aforementioned platforms for Bitcoin mining in both speed and efficiency, all Bitcoin mining hardware that is practical in use will make use of one or more Bitcoin (SHA256d) ASICs.
While the ROI – Return on Investment can go past a year for the Ethereum mining GPUs that have been mentioned above, it can be reduced if you opt to use more than one GPU. You will not get much by using just one video card to mine, and so deciding to purchase more than one GPU will be the best thing to do. But before you fully venture into that, you should also make yourself aware of the profit your mining rig will bring as well as the amount of money that you will spend on the energy.
Joining the ethereum mining pool is next step after you have purchased the correct ethereum hardware.  The reliable mining pool will assist you in getting ongoing payouts. This will be determined when an ether block is solved.
Another option are dedicated mining cards. These cards are made specifically for miners and offer a hash rate and efficiency bump over their gaming orientated counterparts, without the need for you to do much tweaking (overclocking and undervolting). However, most of these cards do not have display connectors making them useless to gamers. This makes the card worthless for resale, so if something happens to the cryptosphere making crypto worthless, say if some global superpower outlaws Bitcoin and other currencies alike making crypto worthless, you won’t be able to get a penny back from these dedicated cards. If you are confident in the success of cryptocurrency however, and are willing to take the risk, these cards are an excellent option.
ethpool.org is good. You do need to wait for a full block to receive a payout though. So, it is best if you have higher Mh/s. If you are 50 Mh/s or less, you may want to see ethermine.org . Both good pools.
Genoil is a continually developing and very optimized miner for Ethereum. It runs smoothly, and you can get up and running with it very quickly. Personally, I’ve had a few issues with DAG generation, but a few tweaks quickly solved this. If you’re only planning on mining Ethereum, then Ethminer by Genoil is a strong contender.
