FPGA mining is a very efficient and fast way to mine, comparable to GPU mining and drastically outperforming CPU mining. FPGAs typically consume very small amounts of power with relatively high hash ratings, making them more viable and efficient than GPU mining.   1. I think Monero has great potential and I am thrilled it’s available at Genesis Mining. I already know I can expect regular payouts from Genesis Mining on a crypto-currency I think will grow in value as others enter the crypto-space.
    i’m mining ETH and ETC for about 8 months now…and there was some period where ETH was low on price…but still i managed to cover my electricity bill…i’m paying around 180$ for elec…so at this price of ETH + DCR is very profitable to mine…around $10k/year…minus $2600 electricity cost’s…it’s still +$7k profit…this is half of my year’s sallary…
    The most energy efficient GPUs around come from Nvidia. Unfortunately, Nvidia GPUs aren’t quite as good at solving cryptographic hashes as AMD hardware. More or less, if you want energy efficiency (without paying a fortune for a 1070 or 1080), your only option is an AMD graphics card. The most energy efficient of these is the AMD Radeon RX 460 or RX 470 (or the pricier RX 560 and RX 570). The RX 470 pulls around 145 watts, with the recommended power supply for it producing around 350 total watts. The RX 460 on the other hand, uses a total of 75 watts. That makes it easier to deploy on single-card mining rigs.
