Do you mine Ethereum for fun? Then the numbers might not mean a lot to you. Though chances are you want to rake in some money from your venture, so the numbers matter to you. There are many ETH mining calculators you can use online and they give valid results.
What do you want to optimise for? Lowest upfront cost per unit hashrate? Lowest ongoing cost (upfront + electricity)? Best hashrate per unit electricity? Lowest heat (and electricity) per unit hashrate?
Form factor: ATX | GPU Support: 7 | Processors supported: 7th/6th Generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Intel Pentium/ Intel Celeron (LGA1151 socket) | Slots: 3 x PCI Express 3.0 x16, 4 x PCI Express 2.0 x1, 4 x DDR4 DIMM
AMD video cards used to have a significant edge over Nvidia for cryptocurrency mining. This is no longer the case. the AMD Rx 580 and AMD Rx 570 are both great choices. The Rx 480 does 29Mh/s and the Rx 570 does 27Mh/s. I’d also recommend checking on eBay if Amazon is out of stock.  Regarding which models to buy, just make sure they are the twin fan designs from any of the Sapphire, Asus, Gigabyte or MSI brands. They are well built and run cool and efficient compared to some others. Amazon often limits the number of GPU’s to 3 per customer, so if you plan to build a 6 GPU rig, I would recommend getting the six pack that is usually listed here and here. This particular pack of special edition GPU’s are overclocked already and ready to mine at maximum hash rates out of the box.
This mining calculator will display your expected earnings in both Ether and Dollars. The calculations are based on the assumption that all conditions (difficulty and prices) remain as they are below.
A: You can use any ETH wallet address for mining, but some exchanges do not allow mining or do not allow very small deposits so double check with the site if mining directly to a web-deposit address.  A good alternative to downloading the full Mist wallet and Ethereum blockchain is MyEtherWallet.com, which still allows you to manage your Ether wallet address and maintain control of your private keys (which is important for security and/or wallet backup and restoration if needed).
Power Supply Unit – Power Supply Units are available in countless sizes and this tends to cause people a lot of confusion when they are trying to figure out the size that is needed. If you have two GPUs that use 220 watts of power and the rest of the components of the rig need 250 watts, then you’ll be fine with a 750 watt PSU.
With Ethereum you can execute code on the blockchain in a distributed way. These are called Smart Contracts. These allow you to set up a system, whereby a person will receive payment under certain conditions. As Ethereum grows, the scale and complexities of these contracts are expected to increase. Smart Contracts is what has given Ethereum such a solid footing, as like with http://www.gridcoin.us/GridCoin, the blockchain has a functional use.
Choose your preferred mining hardware: To mine Ethereum, it is advisable to have a dedicated mining computer for your mining activities. Although, there are two types of mining hardware namely: CPU and GPU. As a miner, you will need to get a GPU, which happens to be the available type of mining hardware. When buying a GPU, make sure that you buy the GPU that is the most profitable. Consider the rate at which it consumes power, its hash rate performance and any other expense involved. To calculate your profit, there are mining profitability calculators that are available to miners. This calculator will help you estimate your potential profit.
A: This guide covers using Windows 10 (make sure it’s 64 bit).  There are also various distros of Linux that can be used (not covered here).  But Windows is the easiest to configure and get up and running fast.  There is no Mac version at this time.
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to do mining using Linux, ethOS or Windows. I’ve made sure to cover the steps for each. You will also find some great tips, tricks, optimizations, and solutions to common troubleshooting issues.
This card is an all-round excellent performer, so that mining demand has driven its price from the regular $400 range to over $700, and for me, this is the only real drawback to this card. We like Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1070 for its performance/dollar. However, this implementation costs more and artificially limits the platform’s potential. On the other hand, if you’re able to find the card at a lower price, don’t hesitate to snap it up because it won’t disappoint!

  1. Install Claymore Dual Miner, edit the config file with your Ethereum address and miner name. Drop a shortcut to the mining software .exe file in your system startup folder if you’d like to auto-start mining when Windows boots up. You can find the system startup folder in Windows 10 by going to: Start > Run  and entering ‘shell:startup’.
A nonce is essentially a binary number which produces a distinctive hash value. The network sets a definite target hash value for every new block occurring in the blockchain and all the miners computing on the network attempt to guess the particular nonce that will produce that value. This is a vicious cycle until the right one is eventually found, which is proof of work and the miner is awarded the block (receives five ether) and the process is rollback.
