Take into acount your powercost, but even for me in one of the most expensive countries for electricity, I still earn a nice profit. You will not get rich of it, but you have some fun on it as well (otherwise you will go out and spend the money in the bar or so).
When it comes to cryptocurrencies, they need to be mined as well. This mining is computational and is done by specialised computers that solve very specific math problems. In the case of Bitcoin, only a finite number of them will ever exist – 21 million. So it is possible to solve these math problems, and receive Bitcoin in return till this number is reached.
The main part of the mining hardware is the graphics processing unit (GPU). Here is a link to a site that allows you to compare the different GPUs – http://www.mininghwcomparison.com/list/index.php?brand=both . Type “Ethereum” in the filter.
While all the above contribute significantly to the success of the project, it is equally important to manage the daily operations efficiently. With our own in-house monitoring and alerting platform, we can efficiently manage a large amount of servers with minimal staff per shift. In case of any server failure, the system sends an alert and we can recover the server with minimal downtime. It also provides us with valuable insight and analytical data to further improve the efficiency of the cooling and power consumption.
Good article but only half written. It does a great job explaining the key inputs into the analysis of profitability but it did not actually follow through with any such analysis! It just says at the end “yes it’s profitable but switch to monero after PoS” with no basis to justify the claims of profitability.
Below are the best Nvidia’s mining cards currently available on the market. It’s important to note that we excluded Older Nvidia cards with 4 GBs (or less) of VRAM because their performance was usually bad, and it will only worsen more as epochs advance.
Ethereum is a distributed platform which is built on blockchain technology. Blockchain is a sort of a database which is stored on volunteers computers who are running a node on their computer. The blockchain can work if most the nodes in the network are acting fair keeping track and validating all the changes/transactions in the netowork. In order to make sure no group of nodes controls more than 50% of the netowork, the solution is to make it so expensive to control 50% the network that no organisation is able to do The algorithm adopted by many coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, ZCash and others is called proof of work and in consists in a searching for a solution that can be found only through brute force. When a miner finds the solution it gets a reward and it can close the current block. The operation for looking for the solution is called mining and all the miners are competing for it, each of them having a chance equal to the processing power he has. Statistically each of them will get a part of the pie proportionally to the computing power is uses.
If you would plan to run this for a longer time, you should try to lower the clock speed on the GPU core to lower power consumption and increase the memory clock speed to increase hash rate. Since Ethereum is not very dependent on the core clock and basically only the memory clock it would make performance better while also increase the profit margin
Maintenance and electricity fees are not billed in an invoice. Instead the fees are deducted from the customer’s balance at the moment of daily payouts. Despite the fact that balance is accounted for in BTC and the fees – in USD, the fees are deducted in BTC according to the current USD/BTC exchange rate which is beneficial for the customer in case the exchange rate trend is positive – more BTC remains in the customer’s balance.
Not sure how I’m kidding myself here, but you’re making the point for me. You don’t mine fiat, you mine cryptos to convert to USD at some point. You’re right to say that that point can be delayed into perpetuity. Over that time horizon, prices can go up, or go down, which determines how “profitable” it is to mine or not mine.
Using below table, you can check how profitable it is to mine selected altcoins in comparison to ethereum. Please note that calculations are based on mean values, therefore your final results may vary. For best results fill all fields with your hash rate and power consumption. Input Groestl hash rate, not Myriad-Groestl. Default values are adapted for three 480 cards.
Hashflare offers 1 year Ether cloud mining contracts. No maintenance fee applies. Daily payouts in ETH. Remember that Genesis Mining offers 2 years Ethereum cloud mining contracts when you compare this operator.

So here’s what we did today. First thing first, we have added mineral wool between plasterboards. This way the office can both enjoy better soundproofing and be isolated from the warmth that will be produced by the GPU rigs outside. We don’t want human BBQ, do we? ? Then we have finished installing the plasterboards inside of the office partition.

  1. If you set your clocks in Afterburner for example, you should check GPU-Z to see if those clocks have really applied. Because if you say your hashrate is not being affected by you adjusting core, that means your core hasn’t been adjusted.
