Great guide, I wish I had this a few months ago before I started mknkn. I’ve gone through all this the hard way which is good but this guide is very clear and straightforward. Having said that I wonder if you would have any idea how to fix the issue I have come across. After mining for two weeks on windows 10 with claymore on nanopool @ 6 x 1070 GeForce. My miner went offline. It says “ cannot write a buffer for DAG” CUDA error 77. It also says “an illegal instruction was encountered” and “calc DAG failed” I have increased the virtual memory but that did not work. My hard drive says it has not 15gb of 110.
To effectively mine Ethereum, a specialized hardware known as Graphics Processing Unit {GPU} will be required.  The intention of the developers of this cryptocurrency was to have it mined on the CPU of a computer but, miners came to discover that GPU presented more hashing powers as compared to computer CPUs. In a more simplified term, a GPU can be best described as a specialized computer for mining Ethereum.
The 2.5-slot width allows 40% more heat sink surface area, giving you a dramatically cooler and quieter performance. The FanConnect II features 4-pin hybrid-control headers that you can connect to PWM and DC system fans for top notch system cooling.
Eobot Review: Claims to be the easiest, cheapest, and best cloud mining solution. Start with as little as $10 using PayPal and choose between any cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Namecoin, Feathercoin, Dogecoin, NautilusCoin, and Vertcoin.
A close second choice for a mining GPU if the Nvidia is hard to find or out of stock, would be the AMD Rx 580 and AMD Rx 570.  The Rx 580 does 29Mh/s and the Rx 570 does 27Mh/s. All mining rig build requirements are the same for either the 1070 or the Rx 580/570. The primary reason I like the GTX 1070 is the lower power usage (100w vs 135w per GPU) when mining. If you want to give your power supply a little extra headroom to run the Rx 580, I’d recommend upgrading to a 1200 watt power supply.
Reports and email tracking are available in Ethermine, as well as notifications of invalid shares and detailed statistics by worker as well as global statistics. Ethermine has more than 200,000 active workers and processes around 35 blocks per hour.
3) Choose a memorable download folder for the “Ethereum Wallet” zip file. Extract it with a suitable file extraction tool, navigate to the new folder the extractor creates and then locate and run the Ethereum app.
I’ve had several people ask about the NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB . Though not my first choice, this GPU can be overclocked to mine at 24.7 Mh/s while only pulling 80 watts of power.  Just like the GTX 1070 and the Rx 580, you can find this GPU conveniently sold in a six pack here, here and here for building a mining rig.

Hi dear mike. my motherboard is asus h87-pro and i install 16g of DDR3 ram and i decided to buy two graphic cards for my system to start mining ETH or XMR. the electricity is free and if u suggest any gpu please tell me about what power i should buy too. thank u so much dude .
MiningFit is a Norway based mining contract provider. They offer a range of contracts from 5 TH/s to 500 TH/s having chosen several optimal locations to house their equipment – where there is cheap electricity and low temperatures to reduce the need for cooling.
Genesis-Mining: I’ve never used genesis mining because their price is just way to high and its not profitable at all at the current bitcoin price of $18,500 – you better stick with the above listed one.
With mining rigs, you want the lowest clocked CPU, bare minimum RAM, 5,6 or 7 GPUs and a very basic HD.   Oh, and as you can see from the picture, you don’t want nor can you fit all those GPUs instead of a normal case.  You can use a nice custom made case as you see above or something cheap like a milk crate.
Glad to have you here! That’s the thing I tell newbies constantly. And its even harder because the equation changes literally every few days as card prices change. Yesterday I bought 6 AMD RX580s because I got a smoking deal on them. It all just depends on the economics of the moment. Its still really hard to beat the performance/energy/price ratio of the GTX 1060 though.
While Ether seems to play better with AMD cards, ZCash is more friendly with NVIDIA, the GTX 1080Ti being one of the best performers in the segment with a hash rate between 700 and 750 MH/s. At the current ZEC value, mining difficulty and power costs, an NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti can bring you a monthly profit of approximately $126. While the figure is below what you stand to make with an AMD 295×2 mining Ether, using 1080Tis for ZEC mining has its advantages: GTX 1080Tis are much easier to come by nowadays than 295x2s, and have a significantly better resell value if mining become unviable.
Ethereum is a blockchain-based decentralized computing platform with ether as its currency. The price increment also had another profound influence on shaping the network—the mining of ether became truly profitable. Since then, cryptocurrency mining has been a big buzz concept in technology.
Step 12: Type in “cd prog” and then press the tab button. This should look like this C:\>cd prog and then press “tab” which will automatically complete the phrase for the closest fit found in the C: drive just like autotext does on your Iphone. After pressing “tab”, you should see C:/> cd “Program Files” and press enter which should give you a new line saying “C:\Program Files>”.
1x Custom Mining Case –  I’d recommend an Open Air 6 GPU Mining Case. I’ve built several of these 6 GPU rigs for family and friends using this particular mining case works quite well for airflow and ease of building.
Nanopool is the third largest with 13,2% network hash rate and over 38,000 miners.  Their fee is less than competition at 1%. Minimum payment threshold is 0.2 ETH, but there is a setting where you can raise or lower the minimum. The interface is user friendly and easy for beginners to use.
This is a successor of Ethpool. It is a high-performing mining pool that provides the same degree of effective mining as ethpool. It pays miners using the two methods namely, the traditional and fair PPLNS mode. Ethminer gives an immediate payout as every miner receives their Ether once they have attained their configured payment threshold.
I’ve listed these in the order I would recommend them to any friend just getting started with building a mining rig and starting to earn passive income with Ethereum mining. This is simply a list of known ethereum mining pools. No pool operators pay me to list their website here.
A: As long as your system meets the general requirements and has at least one GPU with at least 3GB of RAM, you can mine Ethereum.  Some Gaming laptops do have high end cards, but with the considerable heat generated from mining there could be other impacts to your laptop so it’s best to go with a desktop build.  Virtualized environments that you can rent usually do not have enough powerful dedicated GPU in them, or are simply not profitable if they do.  There are currently no ASICs for Ethereum (as it is designed to be an “ASIC Resistant” Proof Of Work hashing algorithim, so if you see ads for one – RUN.  ASIC’s are still profitable for mining some coins (Bitcoin, Dash and Litecoin), but for home built Mining Rigs, Ethereum and other altcoins are still profitable to mine (whereas Bitcoin is not profitable on a home pc – even with many powerful GPU’s do the Bitcoin ASIC technology available).
Please advice if the second GPU previous post, GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 GAMING 8GB (GV-N1070G1 GAMING-8GD) would be a right choice for the rig or there are some differences that I may experience in overclocking/drivers, e.t.c.. Thanks in advance,
So, with our eyes on Ethereum in particular, being the new rising star, that’s exactly what we did here at HotHardware (1 ETH = ~ $277.85 as of this publication). We also learned some handy tips for tweaking your mining rig for maximum hash rate throughput, while keeping your heat and energy consumption at a minimum. We will be sharing these as well has some key hardware benchmark metrics and suggestions to help boost your personal mining potential.
ethOS is possibly the simplest way of setting up a mining rig and is my go-to option when creating a new one. While it does cost $39, the amount of time it saves on troubleshooting is more than worth it. Arguably, it’s also easier and more streamlined to monitor as you can access it simply through SSH or look at your custom dashboard. You can read my review of it here, or head over to gpuShack to purchase it.
Bitcoin cloud mining contracts are usually sold for bitcoins on a per hash basis for a particular period of time and there are several factors that impact Bitcoin cloud mining contract profitability with the primary factor being the Bitcoin price.

  1. The maximum you receive for an uncle is 7/8 of the block reward. This pay reduces as you go back from the present block and there’s no reward beyond 6 steps back. Uncles are not a factor you can project accurately when estimating income; you’ll only know how much you earn from uncles when you have earned!
NVIDIA’s GTX 1070 holds a top spot in the ZEC mining charts due to its awesome price/performance ratio. A well-configured GTX 1070 provides a ZEC hash rate of roughly 400-450 MH/s, which translates into a $78 monthly profit when mining with a single GTX 1070. As usual, one of the main advantages of using NVIDIA cards is their power-efficiency, so setting up a multi-GPU rig with GTX 1070s can be a very smart move. Given the card’s availability on the market, its price and its resell value (the GTX 1070 is still a very worthy gaming card that can easily run all modern games at max settings at 1080p and 2160p), the NVIDIA GTX 1070 is definitely a worthy pick for your ZCash mining rig.

Nanopool – Next on our list is Nanopool (https://nanopool.org). Nanopool currently has 40 000 Ethereum miners and accounts for 15% of the hashrate. Nanopool uses the PPLNS method to calculate payments the same as Ethermine. Payments are made several times during the day and Nanopool has servers in Asia, Europe and America. Nanopool also offers miners the option to mine in Ethereum Classic which is a split from the traditional Ethereum currency. Also see our article on Nanopool vs Ethpool.
