So here’s what we did today. First thing first, we have added mineral wool between plasterboards. This way the office can both enjoy better soundproofing and be isolated from the warmth that will be produced by the GPU rigs outside. We don’t want human BBQ, do we? 🙂 Then we have finished installing the plasterboards inside of the office partition.
BIOS: Launch your rig, go to BIOS and update it to the latest version, which is 0812 at the moment. You can download it on Asus website. To install BIOS, put the file with the newest version to a USB flash drive, press F7 to see BIOS advanced settings, then search for ASUS EZ Flash Utility, choose ‘by USB’ and click on the USB flash drive file.
As mentioned make sure your power supply unit can handle the Graphics cards and that you have risers capable of placing extra GPU’s in a safe location. Make sure all the connections are in nicely and everything is held together firmly.
Even though currency mining seems to be an easy get rich quick scheme, it does not come without risk, the main risk being: fire. If you have a relatively large mining operation with poor cooling, and you’re using bad power supplies with multiple extensions cables going into one outlet, something could catch fire very easily, making not only your rig worthless, but most likely your house too. As long as you use parts from reliable companies, and keep your rigs cool and dust free, this shouldn’t be an issue. Another risk to watch out for is if you have young children or small animals. They could easily break your rig by accident, either by throwing something at it or giving it a static shock.
We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).

Any others: Do not trust any random names on the internet, bitcoin is a currency that cant be chargeback in anyway and so thieves are out there looking to steal your bitcoins so be prepared and dont invest in every single website you find out there. Some are legit, some scams.
We’ve seen many services that offer cloud mining which look great on paper but we believe the true profitability is from owning a rig. In addition to being fully in control of it you can also sell the parts afterward.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
So you just found out about Ethereum mining and looking to build your first Ethereum mining rig. This guide will walk you through choosing GPUs, hardware, and what software to run for mining Ethereum.
Think about it. It does not sound like much, but it is. If you have a friend that just invests 1 Bitcoin, you instantly get 0.10 Bitcoin. Your friend probably earns much more % on his 1 Bitcoin, depending on the contract he choosed.
These figures will change based on when you run this analysis, but for purposes of the example here we would net 109 ETH annually. If sold at the current price, $1537 will be earned from which we subtract the electricity cost of $493. This nets a respectable profit of $1045.
The reason Ethereum Cloud miners can get better deals is two fold. Firstly they buy in bulk, so they get a discount on all their graphics cards. Secondly they can put their mining machines in low cost locations such as Iceland. This severely reduces the operating costs of running an ethereum mining contract which means they can pass on these savings to you. In fact Genesis mining run their contracts off green energy – so you can say your being green whilst being in the avant-garde of a financial and technological revolution.
I have finally decided to try to rent a hashpower through reputable company with positive reviews. The only contract available was Monero, which quite suited me. The web with configuration and Dashboard is quite intuitive. Mined balance is added on daily basis. The mined amount correspond with ordered hashpower. In fact it seems like the amount is a little big bigger that it should be according to the online calculators. So far, I have no experience with withdrawal, but this company is reputable, so I do not expect any difficulties.
As i am new to mining i have yet to review my earnings w/ genesis mining and see ,however the support they offer seems to be class leading, thanks for the wonderful support. hope to review my mining experience with the company in the future.
So far, I am very satisfied with my purchase of the 2 Year Litecoin Contracts. I think Litecoin is going to be way more profitable than what it is now and will be buying more when I can. Thank you for providing this service.
This local law shall impose a moratorium on applications or proceedings, or the issuance of approvals or permits for commercial cryptocurrency mining operations in the City of Plattsburgh. The moratorium imposed by this local law shall be in effect for a period of  eighteen  months from the effective date of this local law.
Among all types of digital currencies, Ethereum has been able to command amazing popularity and stands at number two position after Bitcoin. Ethereum’s rise in the domain of technologies that are based on blockchain can be attributed to the relative ease and economy of the mining process in comparison with its counterparts.
Hello, first, thank you for the tutorial, miner appears to be functioning. Hoever, it’s not working properly on my machine. I keep getting a Watchdog Error: must restart GPU. Please help me sort this error out. Thanks.
The other night I was talking with a fellow affiliate marketer on Facebook, our conversation for some reason started to focus on investments, stocks, and cryptocurrencies. Seems that alternative finance income ideas…
With the prices of graphics cards rising due to the cryptocurrency gold rush, it’s now more sensible to buy a pre-built device for mining cryptocurrencies, which is where our best mining rig 2018 list comes in.
I bought 2 year though not 1 year. It has been good but I did ask a question related to z cash but I found out the answer to it in the faq. Would have liked more clarity on the subject at least but I know Genesis is a solid company with a 4 year track record. So far the 75 hash that I have been getting because I bought it with bitcoins were good and stable as of the past two days.
As more and more miners competed for the limited supply of blocks, individuals found that they were working for months without finding a block and receiving any reward for their mining efforts. This made mining something of a gamble. To address the variance in their income miners started organizing themselves into pools so that they could share rewards more evenly. See Pooled mining and Comparison of mining pools.
I’m only looking to buy RX Vega with my earnings. No delusions of becoming rich. I already owned my to Furys, so I’m not out any investment. My rent is all inclusive, and hydro is pretty cheap here regardless. I do wish I’d started sooner though.
@acaciosc The primary reason that Ethereum is so profitable isn’t because it’s ASIC resistant but because it’s the only coin with a generalized intrinsic value. That value being that ether is the only coin that can run a Turing Complete smart contract (or more technically the only coin that enforces a Turing Complete contract to ‘halt’).
This is the best mining hardware configuration that can mine the following coins / altcoins: Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Monero (XMR), PascalCoin (PASC), Decred (DCR), Expanse (EXP), Lbry Credits (LBC), Siacoin (SC), Komodo (KMD), Ubiq (UBQ), Karbowanec (KRB), Bipcoin (BIP), Orbitco (ORB), Zencash (ZEN),  Hush (HUSH) etc..
Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a bios modification question. I have a rig running mostly rx470 mining editions, are these cards already maxed out when it comes to tweeking their bios? Im asking becuase i have tryed to tweek them in the past and run into issues and a loss in hash rate…
So if you’re looking for a way to pay off some new gaming GPUs, you could technically mine them for a few months to pay them off, but if you’re expecting to become an Ether millionaire, and you don’t have a massive operation already–it’s probably a pipe dream.
Right now it is quite profitable, but it is better to see the historical comparison between prices and the difficulty. Also take in mind that the cards doesn’t last forever – not that they will brake down but eventually new cards with better hashrate per watt are appearing. So, I would say that we are looking at about taking back the price of hardware in the first year and then start taking profit which will gradually slow down. So if you invest X money in 2-3 years you will make back double the initial investment.
Zcash uses the equihash algorithm. Same as btc gold. I bought my contract to mine zcash, but I don’t think it is unreasonable that in a few month’s time, Genesis might make it possible to mine btc gold with it since it is the same algorithm. If not, Zcash will still be hot. It is a win win!
Do you mine Ethereum for fun? Then the numbers might not mean a lot to you. Though chances are you want to rake in some money from your venture, so the numbers matter to you. There are many ETH mining calculators you can use online and they give valid results.
And you believe that our current monetary system is based in reality? How is a $100 bill printed on paper (not backed by gold or any other valuable tangible object) any more ‘real’ than any of these cryptocurrencies? You do realize that every dollar the U.S. government prints is printed with interest, right? As in, the Federal Reserve prints our government the $1 and charges us interest (whatever the Fed Rate is). Where do you think that interest comes from? It’s simply made up. POOF, out of thin air. Where do you think any of our money comes from? What to you makes the digital representation of money you see when you log on to your bank account online
Crypterra – new company, offering mostly 2-year proftable cloud mining contracts. Update on Crypterra: Looks like they are a scam, the website disappeared and SSL certificate was revoked. We were paid the last time on january 20, 2018. Discussion here. Before adding them to our website we did a lot of emailing with them and somehow they convinced us that they are a legit company. We also received regular payments. For more detalis you can contact us [2018-01-25].
The testing phase also allows me to get the best of the rig hashrate-wise. As you probably know, the silicon lottery is a thing, which means that every GPU unit has its own unique overclocking and hashing potential. That being said, I’ve more than a dozen of rigs and all of them end up having roughly the same specifications. The expected fluctuation in power consumption and hashrate is between 3% and 10%, depending on the coin.

  1. I am a lightweight as far as mining goes, however, there is still room to make money on ETH. If you already have hardware, turn it on and let it run. If you don’t have hardware, I can see it being difficult to ROI. A lot depends on price and difficulty, price has been going down as of late, while difficulty has been going up, HOWEVER, its always possible that people quit mining and difficulty goes back down. That is almost a win win. Less competition, that is if you are in it for the long haul, however you have pretty much missed the boat on that.
Thanx for the update. It’s still accurate right? And what do you suggest, should I wait for bitcoin to come back as a mining option and upgrade what I have or should I buy Ether/Monero from genesis(which is more profitable)?
