Here’s a little introduction. Part one of the project is already completed – I’ve got a plan, a great team and a place where we can start equipping the workshop. We have two plain rooms of 50 square meters each. One room will be subdivided into an office and the rigs workshop – where rigs will be physically assembled; the other room will be hosting the rigs that are in testing phase.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
Great article, wish you would take it a step further and play with tuning the system to see how significant of a change you might be able to dial in. Also, In regards to heat, maybe it makes sense not to mine during the summer cooling months, but run it 7-9 months out of the year were the heat it produced would not be wasted completely? I understand it’s not the most efficient way to heat a house, but, at least your not doubling down on your costs?
Crypto mining has become a divisive issue. Miners gobble up popular graphics cards by the armful, depleting inventory and driving up prices. Gamers are left to pay exorbitant prices, sometimes as much as double, even for mainstream GPUs. A little animosity between the two camps is therefore understandable.
I recommend mining the most profitable coin for you. So, if you’re using AMD GPUs then Monero and Ethereum are the most profitable option for you. If you’re using NVidia, ZCash and Ethereum are the most profitable. It’s your choice to choose which of these two coins to mine, and I recommend mining whichever one you think has the brightest future, as what you mine today may be worth $10 now, but $100 in a few months. You can always trade your mined currency for a different coin if you believe that is a better option. You can use services like Shapeshift.io for the quickest cryptocurrency swaps, or you can trade on sites such as Bittrex so you don’t have to pay as high of a fee.
The ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ is another excellent choice for mining, with support for up to 13 GPUs. However, it currently costs about the same as Asus’s mining board, and for the money I’d rather stick with Asus. If you know that you’ll definitely stick to a single PSU and a small handful of GPUs (e.g.: the majority of us), this is a fine choice, especially if you find a deal on it.
I’m with GM for a year. I sincerely recommend GM due to the low cost of the account. At any time you can change addresses, which is very valuable. For one year there have been no problems with payouts. So I decided to invest more in various cryptowals. For me GM is the best mine in the cryptowalut market. Sincerely Malgorzata from Poland
Clever though it is, the system has weaknesses. One is rapid consolidation. Most mining power today is provided by “pools”, big groups of miners who combine their computing power to increase the chance of winning a reward. As mining pools have got bigger, it no longer seems inconceivable that one of them might amass enough capacity to mount a 51% attack. Indeed, in June 2014 one pool, GHash.IO, had the bitcoin community running scared by briefly touching that level before some users voluntarily switched to other pools. As the bitcoin price continues to fall, consolidation could become more of a problem: some miners are giving up because the rewards of mining no longer cover the costs. Some worry that mining will become concentrated in a few countries where electricity is cheap, such as China, allowing a hostile government to seize control of bitcoin. Others predict that mining will end up as a monopoly—the exact opposite of the decentralised system that Mr Nakamoto set out to create.
If you can be clear about what exactly do you mean by RX cards speed problem that would be helpful. And, when you post in 2018 that and RX 580 is getting 18 MH/s and falling fast, what is this information based off of.

Mining can often be a quite strenuous process that is not error free. So if you are setting up your own miner, it can be useful to interact with some communities in order to get proper guidance. One of my favorite communities is Reddit, and although Reddit has a vast array of sub-communities, or subreddits, there are some for mining. Such as:
We recommend checking out an Ethereum mining calculator before starting with mining process. An Ethereum mining calculator is an essential tool that will help you work this out, and by entering the above details into the calculator, you’ll be presented with a rough guide of your expected profits. The calculator will automatically enter the current figure for difficulty. However, Ethereum’s high price lures in more miners so that difficulty is very likely to rise in the future.
Every Ethereum miner needs to plan in terms of mining rigs and their power apart from budgetary provisions for covering electrical expenses. You should also be aware that consumption of electricity is a significant aspect of Ethereum mining and therefore miners in certain countries such as Iceland or China are able to able to achieve greater cost efficiency due to relatively cheaper electricity in these countries.
Sapphire is a Graphics card producer that can be used in mining alternative crypto currencies such as Ethereum and Litecoin. See all products Sapphire has to offer and check out the profitability and returns for using them to mine ether.
The testing phase also allows me to get the best of the rig hashrate-wise. As you probably know, the silicon lottery is a thing, which means that every GPU unit has its own unique overclocking and hashing potential. That being said, I’ve build more than a dozen of rigs and all of them end up having roughly the same specifications. The expected fluctuation in power consumption and hashrate is between 3% and 10%, depending on the coin.
This is an excellent graphics card for mining as it does not require any external power, so you can easily put it into any desktop PC with a PCI-E 16x slot. With a starting price of around $150 US dollars, and a mere power draw of <75W, it makes this card not only extremely efficient but extremely effective for cryptocurrency mining. If you are to get this card, I highly recommend mining the ETHash algorithm (Ethereum or Ethereum Classic) or EquiHash (ZCash). Made about $300 dollars with genesis so far in about a month and a half. really awesome service. Had one issue with a payment not being processed and customer service resolved this immediatly. A tip I would give is to stick to one mining contract and upgrade every now and then so the difficulty increase wont be noticeable. This is better than having more than one contract and having it pay less and less each time with difficulty increase. Also use crypto to pay instead of credit card, this way there is no 30 day payout hold. Good luck guys. This card generally retails in the $800 range, but mining demand has driven its price to over $1,000 in some locations. If you’re lucky enough to get free power, then this card could be a great choice. Ethereum cloud mining contracts are best from Genesis Mining with 2 year lifetime. Hashflare offers 1-year Ethereum cloud mining contract. Our latest cloud mining calculation is always available on Best Cloud Mining. To start mining with your GPU, key in ‘ethminer –G’ followed by the enter key. This will initiate the mining process after building the DAG ((Directed Acyclic Graph), which is a large file stored in the RAM of your GPU for the purpose of making it ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) resistant. Ensure that there is sufficient space on your hard drive before getting to this point. Mining profitability calculator host CoinWarz has recently launched a calculator for Ether, the token that fuels the Ethereum platform. “Perfectly timed” with the history-making DAO crowdfund, the company believes that their calculator has hit the market just in time for Ether mining profitability to be pushed “to the moon.” Very much appreciate what you’ve done so well here, THANK YOU! Very clear … the only thing I wonder on the open-ended contracts is how long does the initial investment carry you? Obviousily on the 2-year leases it’s a fixed time, making it easy to calculate. Any idea? Appreciate it – Thanks Again. Click Save private key to save the key in the format that PuTTY can use. PuTTYgen displays a warning about saving the key without a passphrase. Click Yes. Note: A passphrase on a private key is an extra layer of protection, so even if your private key is discovered, it can’t be used without the passphrase. The downside to using a passphrase is that it makes automation harder because human intervention is needed to log on to an instance, or copy files to an instance. The most ideal mining hardware provides high hashing power at optimum power consumption. This explains why Ethereum miners prefer Graphic Processing Units over Central Processing units. GPUs are known to deliver higher hashing efficiency as compared with CPUs. The market? Most people will sell off their gpus or just turn them off.. Are you reffering to the gpu market? 1million gpus.. world wide is a small number and frankly nothing to really be too concerned about.. Yes, but if you're getting your profit from the increased market price for the crypto, wouldn't make more sense to just invest the total amount into the crypto itself? Otherwise you would be spending a good amount for electricity + hardware and would have to reach ROI before actually making money. That being said, the more powerful your mining hardware is the more likely you are to successfully mine Ether, and in turn generate a profit. If you use one of the three GPUs mentioned above, you’re off to a good start. The good news is that getting started with Ethereum Mining is now easier than ever.  You do not need to download the full Ethereum blockchain, which is now over 20+ GB’s and still growing!  You also do not need to manage clunky command line miners with manual instructions. For most of these, if the issues persists, watchclay power cycles the designated outlet on a Ubiquiti mPower strip to reset the rig and return Claymore to mining. In case of GPU overheating, watchclay immediately powers down the designated outlet to prevent permanent damage. If i were to build another rig, I would have to be convinced that I would make my investment back in 2.5 months or less, and while I'm considering it, I'm not exactly convinced that it would net me more ethereum in the long run than just investing the same amount of money into ethereum today. 1. Some settings should be modified in Windows to get you ready for mining.  First, you don’t want your computer to go to Sleep as it will interrupt your mining so go into your Power Settings and set it to “Never” turn off/sleep.
