As already mentioned the ethereum mining is done using graphic cards. As graphic cards can not work by themselfs, the ethereum mining hardware consists of a omputer which has as many graphic cards attached as possible. Those computers are called mining rigs and in gereral they have around 6 gpus powered by 1-2 power supply units.

In order, to calculate this, you’ll need to find out how much power it uses and how much you need to pay per KW/h. These are respectively 150W and $0.10 per KW/h for me. To calculate the per hour cost just convert W to kW (by diving by 1000) and multiply together, so for me the rig would cost 0.15*0.1= $0.015/hour to keep alive. These ETH miners for cryptocurrency mining are all great options to mine Ethereum, but in the end, you must choose what you see is most convenient for yourself. Be the judge and choose what best fits what you need. Through ETH mining you can reap important profits, but it all comes down to an optimal combination of hardware and your ETH miner.
After you’ve done all that, you will want to calculate the cost of your electricity. Look at the card and see how many watts of power they require and how much money you will be spending to pay. By far the most powerful Ethereum miner, the Radeon R9 295X2 has a hash rate of 46 MH/s, drawing 500 W from the wall. This means you’ll see a yearly return of $1,454.18 USD annually per card. That’s right, over $1,400 per card. Some might think the GTX 1080 is a more powerful alternative, but they’d be wrong. If you want to generate serious revenue by mining Ethereum, the R9 295 X2 is your card of choice.
One of the benefits in investing a couple hundred, or a thousand into a mining computer instead of into the currency you are eventually going to mine, is the fact that in the very unlikely event that the headline in the morning is “United Nations Ban All Forms Of Digital Currencies,” you can still sell your mining computer. At a loss nonetheless, but it’s still better than nothing. However, if you invested that amount into a currency instead, that currency will most likely be worth nothing. Although there still is the chance that the currency goes up by 100% overnight, leaving in the dust with a mere mining rig.
Even harder to find than the RX 480 is the AMD RX 470. A year ago, this was the absolute best card for mining. With a slight BIOS mod, it can do 29Mh/s while pulling 140 watts. Just like the other AMD cards listed, my favorite model is the AMD Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ (Model #11256-10-20G).
Any personal computer can be used for the mining of ether, as long as the device incorporates a Graphic Card (GPU) and having at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM. Mining on Central Processing Unit (CPU) is simply a frustration in exercise; it incurs a lot of time with very minimal profits.
Apart from being one of the most affordable GPUs available on the market today, it is also one of the most economical. While only consuming 150 watts of electric power, this CPU presents a hash rate of 25 MH/s.  When compared to Radeon R9 295X2 and Radeon R9 HD 7990, the cost of power for this GPU is relatively low, at only $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $7.96, which is quite impressive compared to most GPUs that are currently on the cryptocurrency market. The return per day for the Radeon RX 480 is $1.21, while its return per year is $440.91. On sale at Amazon now, you will have this GPU and begin mining Ethereum without many problems.
Mist also contains Geth, a popular command line interface. You may choose to get only the latest Geth app for your system, it’s able to perform all the functions of Mist (and more) from the command line. Geth (an abbreviation for “go-ethereum”) allows you and your miner to interact more directly with the Ethereum network but Geth definitely requires some programming knowledge.
For better performance please use Google Chrome or Opera (without VPN feature, or you will get ping to VPN location plus ping from VPN location to mining pool). Safari seems to be slower during ping request in 3 times.
It is very easy to burn out your GPUs – I’ve done in two, but luckily got warranty replacements. The first just stopped working after one day. And one of the fans got “sticky” in the second one after a few months.
