Yes it is profitable is you do it the right way. You’ll need to build a mining rig with high powerful resources to make some amazing profits. if you want to know how much Ethereum mining can be profitable, then read the following article.
The total profit you would have accrued by the end of your mining rig’s profitable run would be $2,916.59. However, if you back out the initial upfront costs discussed above, you’ve actually made slightly less than you’ve invested. You could resell your GPUs to cut some of your losses, but your equipment will have lost a lot of value and that loss is only going to accelerate as newer mining equipment continues to improve at an impressive rate, something that is making GPUs from a year and a half ago already lose a majority of their value. Your GPU resale value will ultimately determine your overall mining investment return.
The day has come, guys! After one month of preparation and struggling we are finally ready to start building your mining rigs. There are still a couple of small things left to be done but we can work on them a bit later.
I bought nvidia for the same reason but I would simply add that nvidia is good for most of the coins, it’s only that RX cards are a bit better for some coin. You can make decent money with Nvidia on Ethash.
I was sure Cloud-Mining is more profitable, because of the high Ethereum price. If I would buy 10 Ether today, it would cost me about 2300 $. I can get the same amount of Ether much cheaper with Cloud-Mining. With around 37 MH/s Ethereum Mining Power, I will get over 10.4 Ether after 1 year and it only costs about 1090 € at Genesis Mining and it is mining 2 years. So after 2 years you will get about 20 Ether back for only 1090 € instead of 10 Ether for 2300 $ if you buy it today directly.
We provide simple, plug & play systems which work from day 1. You can view the best Ethereum mining rigs and have it delivered to your door. We also provide full solutions from facility design to electrical installation of GPU farming systems
The top Ethereum mining choice is currently the Radeon RX 570 / RX 580 line*. The RX 570 delivers nearly the same performance as the RX 580 (within 4-7% or so) for a bit less power consumption—they’re essentially equal from an efficiency standpoint. The RX 570 is usually significantly cheaper than the 580, so generally the 570 is the best choice.
So I am working through some issues. First I have two drives. C: which is a fairly small SSD drive just for my OS (the blockchain is too big to fit on here) and an E: drive which stores everything else. I finally figured out how to store the blockchain on E: with my coinbase and if I am solo mining it works (probably not going to mine anything but works nontheless). So I am considering pool mining. According to your article I must first downloan the entire blockchain which I am working on doing again to the E: drive.… Read more »
This is great info. I’ve just built a mining rig, and I’ve written up a post on how I did it. The post focuses on building the case, not software or which components to buy. http://blog.timwheeler.io/building-an-ethereum-mining-rig/.

The popularity of GPU-based cryptocurrency mining has driven up the prices of particularly efficient cards. GPU manufacturers have struggled to meet demands from miners. This struggle has resulted in a noticeable shortage of certain cards, as well as inflated prices from suppliers on the “secondary market” (in other words, resellers on sites such as eBay).
There are several providers who offer cloud-based mining. Hashgains offer you a one year contract and from then there is no maintenance fee for you to bother about. In the cloud, you have guaranteed uptime of nearly 100 percent. Even if one miner goes offline for some reason, your provider will automate them on the other active machines.
4) Remote reboot and power management. There is a device called an iCoostor. It will monitor your power usage and give you the opportunity to cut power to your rig remotely. This can be important 1) to know your power costs 2) if your rig hangs you can cut power using the iCoostor and then when you restore power (all remotely) you can have the BIOS set to automatically reboot your rig. That combined with the automated startup scripts provided on this site will have you back up and mining in minutes from anywhere you have an internet connection using only your smartphone.
That’s how much the difficulty increased over the past month, so it’s not as stupid as you might think. With a fair number of people out there still taking delivery on overpriced mining hardware, it’s not too much of a stretch to think that it might keep going up linearly.
When it comes to cryptocurrencies, they need to be mined as well. This mining is computational and is done by specialised computers that solve very specific math problems. In the case of Bitcoin, only a finite number of them will ever exist – 21 million. So it is possible to solve these math problems, and receive Bitcoin in return till this number is reached.
The Radeon R9 295X2 is currently the most popular GPU when it comes to mining Ethereum. It offers a hash-rate of 46 MH/s and is the industry leader when it comes to hashing power. The R9 295X2 consumes a power of 500W. This GPU is in high demand and tends to get sold out as soon as it goes on stock. It comes with an 8GB GDDR5 RAM.
The GPU is still the biggest factor in determining mining performance and which card you have matters greatly. AMD cards are still king in total mining performance, just as they were in Bitcoin’s early days. Nvidia microarchitecture (through Maxwell) wasn’t focused on general purpose computing like AMD’s Graphics Core Next. Actual hash rates will vary between different mining software, operating systems, and drivers, but even a GTX 980 Ti can’t keep up with, say, an older mid-range AMD card. Nvidia has made changes in Pascal that make 10-series cards quite capable miners. Then again, if you’re using a recent generation Nvidia card for mining, you’re more likely mining on the side with your current machine rather than making a dedicated mining system out of spare parts.
Ethereum uses a different hashing algorithm to Bitcoin, which makes it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Ethereum’s algorithm is known as Ethash. It’s a memory-hard algorithm; meaning it’s designed to resist the development of Ethereum-mining ASICs. Instead, Ethash is deliberately best-suited to GPU-mining.
I made this same question in Bitcointalk and a veteran told me “we will talk about another more profitable coin in 1-2 years, guaranteed…”, so we don’t need to worry about it stopping being profitable soon… I asked him/her how s/he can be so confident, and the reply was that it’s because it happened 3 times before. I said that it doesn’t mean it will be the same thing from now on just because of that. He didn’t reply me anymore…
All mining activities run on the GPUs so you won’t need a very powerful CPU to run the rig. Your CPU won’t be used during mining so a lower power chip is prefered. An Intel i3 or Celeron chip will work just fine in a LGA 1150 motherboard.
You do have some great information on mining with the GTX 1070, thank you. But you don’t mention the 1070 Ti, how come? According to other research I have found that the 1070 Ti is actually more efficient, and faster than the 1070 so overall it can cost less and mine more.
1) Motherboard. I do not like the Asus B250 Mining Expert. Sure it supports 19 cards on one board which sounds great like it will save you $$ on additional memory, cpu, hard drive etc. However, to get it running with 19 cards you have to have 32GB of memory and use specific Nvidia P106 mining cards which don’t even seem to be available. I haven’t used the ASRock so I can’t comment, however I really like the Biostar TB250 motherboard. The Biostar will run 10 cards using Linux without any special cards or endless tweaking and technical knowledge. I currently have 2 Rigs of 10 Nvidia 1060s each running stable, 24 hours a day using mainly the directions found on this website.
Some settings should be modified in Windows to get you ready for mining.  First, you don’t want your computer to go to Sleep as it will interrupt your mining so go into your Power Settings and set it to “Never” turn off/sleep.
Gamers and computer enthusiasts their systems more than just about anyone. Motherboards, CPUs, and graphics cards sitting around after an upgrade are the perfect starting points for a hobbyist mining machine. You’ve already paid for these components and extracted value out of them. What’s more, you know their history and how well they’ve been cared for, which isn’t necessarily the case when buying discount used parts on eBay. With sufficient leftovers, you should be able to cobble together a competent mining machine, even if it’s not terribly impressive.
this is my 2nd opportunity to set mining at genesis mining. it is very easy to start mining with them, compared with do that by myself. just hope i will have a chance to buy the contract for BTC mining.
I have continuous payouts for about two months since I joined the mining pool. The dashboard layout is convenient and user friendly. Despite being a novice regarding cryptocurrency, the overall experience is pleasant.
For the last couple of days we have been focusing on cleaning the room. We have been using a professional machine to dust the carpet – I really want to have as less dust as possible before we install and turn on the rigs. We’ve been repeating the process for 2-3 days in a row – you can see me on the photo doing it once again today.
Some people have reported that their rigs won’t boot unless they have a monitor connected, although this seems to be fairly rare (my own rig boots fine without a display attached). If this happens to you, you’ll need a dummy plug.
“Cloud mining is a profitable pursuit if you know what you are doing. While many cloud-mining services provide different mining options, not all of them are the best choice, obviously. The market of mining is very dynamic in general, so you should most probably learn something in the Internet about different options before making a considerable investment. Usually people tend to ignore open information like mining difficulty growth or currency value changes and they get very frustrated once mining becomes less profitable.”
Each block must have the proof of work of the given difficulty if it is to validated in consensus. The algorithm for validation is called Esthash. It has to do with identifying the nonce input to the result in such a way that it will be below a threshold that is determined by the difficulty. If the outputs are uniform in distribution, then the fact that the time required to find a nonce depends on the difficulty is guaranteed. In this case, simply manipulating the difficulty will allow a miner control how much time is required to find a new block.
The thing is Ethereum is the cryptocurrency which is ASIC resistant; i.e you cannot mine it with any ASIC you will have to mine it with graphics cards. I have also inserted Amazon links as it may help you buy them.
As i am new to mining i have yet to review my earnings w/ genesis mining and see ,however the support they offer seems to be class leading, thanks for the wonderful support. hope to review my mining experience with the company in the future.
Every Ethereum miner needs to plan in terms of mining rigs and their power apart from budgetary provisions for covering electrical expenses. You should also be aware that consumption of electricity is a significant aspect of Ethereum mining and therefore miners in certain countries such as Iceland or China are able to able to achieve greater cost efficiency due to relatively cheaper electricity in these countries.
Some of the above links are affiliate links which means I will receive a small commission if you buy through them (you won’t pay any extra). If you choose to buy through these links, thank you for your support.

  1. This one is easy: buy the cheapest CPU that works with whatever motherboard you pick. When it comes to mining, the GPUs do all the work. Your CPU will essentially sit idle, so there is no reason to waste money on anything other than the bare minimum.
