Ethereum Mining Difficulty Adjustment –  Most mining pools use VARDIFF on their mining pool connections. What does VARDIFF mean? VARDIFF means ‘variable difficulty’. It has become the new standard in Ethereum mining and with the huge price explosion the demand for these cards have far outpaced supply and created an extreme GPU shortage, resulting in much higher GPU prices.  That said, if you shop carefully, set up auto-notifications/alerts and have a little luck you can get some of the AMD RX series cards.
If you want the absolute highest hashrates you can currently get, then the NVIDIA Titan V is the master at a whopping 82 MH/s in Ethereum mining! Of course this card costs a whopping $3000 each.  Six Titan V GPUs in a miner would get you a 492 MH/s rate while setting you back a cool $18,000 USD.  And with a power demand of 250 watts you’ll be mining for 17 months before you break even. But then you don’t care about profit right?
At the time of writing this article, the aforementioned mining rig would cost around $2,250USD and would be capable of producing around 0.5 Ethereum per month. This is about $250 per month before variable costs. That means within 9 months you’ll have paid off your initial investment. This is of course assuming the price of Ethereum stays the same.
To achieve this, ZCash founders had to develop an entirely new cryptography algorithm that would allow transactions to be verified despite the fact that their inputs or outputs could be encrypted. The Radeon R9 295X2 has by far the highest hash rate (46.0 MH/s) of the Ethereum GPUs on the market and will cost you $600. It has a power cost per day of about $1.44, a return per day of about $1.61 and a cost per MH/s of $13.04. This gives a return per year of $586.43.
Note that R9s only have 4 GBs of RAM, which means that their performance is rapidly degrading with advancement of epochs, which means that you will be able to resell it later only at a very cheap price (once it’s no longer suitable for mining).
This card generally retails in the $800 range, but mining demand has driven its price to over $1,000 in some locations. If you’re lucky enough to get free power, then this card could be a great choice.

you seem to only be concerned with hashrate. The power consumption of the 1080ti is close to double that of the 1060. When you add that you have to pay 3X for it on top of that the 1060 is definitely the better value for a business venture in mining (at least at today’s prices).

Running a CPU you might be able to generate 0.15 Mega Hashes whilst with a decent GPU with enough memory you could be doing upwards 25 Mega Hashes (you can choose a GPU to mine ether here and use our guide on how to choose a GPU to mine ether). So in terms of total efficiency, taking into account electrical costs, a GPU is definitely worth it even if it costs you $200. 
    If you’d like to Solo mine, you will need to be in sync with the blockchain. To do this, you will need to download Geth and save it to a folder such as C:Ether. Then open a command prompt, and navigate to this folder using the cd command. First, if you’re not using a local wallet, you will need to sync the blockchain. The quickest way is using the command:
