If you mine in a pool, you’ll pay a fee to belong as well as a payout fee charged on each payment sent to you. Pools don’t charge the same rates though the variation is low. These fees are another value you will subtract from your income. If you outsource, your contract states the amount of a year’s subscription to the cloud mining entity.
Decide on which service you will like to use for your wallet, and sign up to it. I’ve created a Poloniex account, as I plan on doing some trading with the Ether I mine to try and further increase my profits. Make a note of your address. It should look something like this: 0x7b5eff562ee17b9e27a7af6afc26944266c8b025.
The great part about these is that they are quite power efficient, and with a bit of tinkering, you can go below their 150W TDP without losing in the performance chapter. The not-so-great part is that, due to their excellent price/performance ratio, the RX480 and RX580 have sold out in a blink of an eye, so finding a store that has these in stock (without artificially inflated prices) is anything but easy nowadays. Of course, there is Amazon, eBay and other similar sites, but the people selling them know exactly what they are giving away, so it’s not uncommon to find one of these cards (which used to retail around the $200 mark when they first came out) selling for double or even triple their original price.
This collective, distributed computing network, called the “Ethereum Virtual Machine,” can be, in a sense, rented out. Participants who consume computing power pay for it with tokens, called Ether; those who contribute processing power can earn them. Of course, buyers and sellers can simply trade Ether independently of these activities.
I see a lot of people are having this same problem. I believe that something must have changed in the new version of Claymore which is causing this error. Can you perhaps install an older version of Claymore?
Bad job Tom’s. Just add fuel to the GFX card debacle. Irresponsible and just wrong. First the user must go out and OVERSPEND on a GFX card and then follow this article and start mining and increase the shortages even further. Hm, good job Tom, good job.
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to do mining using Linux, ethOS or Windows. I’ve made sure to cover the steps for each. You will also find some great tips, tricks, optimizations, and solutions to common troubleshooting issues.
This mining pool supports only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. It serves only in Asia, and the minimum payout amount is 0.1 ETH. It offers to monitor and is involved with stratum. An average fee of 1% is charged, and it uses PPS and PPLNS systems. It contributes up to 4% of hash rate power.
I’m building a mining pool for new miners, those who can’t compete with the big server farms, so we can join together and have a better chance at those bonuses. Sure the eth won’t show up too fast until we get enough people mining.
To a cloud mining pool, you must purchase shares online. Choose from any one of the plans, pay for the plans you choose and once done start mining. Your provider signs the contract for one year and takes complete responsibility for all the infrastructure, and maintenance tasks. They will provide all hardware and software, pay for licenses, while you focus on mining and collecting your mined coins.
The same thing applies to Ethereum. The only way to utilize Ethereum is with the product from mining. However, mining Ethereum means more than increasing the volume of Ether in circulation. It is also necessary for securing the Ethereum network as it creates, verifies, publishes, and propagates blocks in the blockchain.
Yes in the sense that if difficulty gets too high, the number of Ether coins you get in reward doesn’t offset the cost of electricity and/or cooling.  But usually, when that happens, people tend to stop mining or move to another coin.  Once that happens, difficulty drops down and Ethereum becomes profitable again to mine.
For an enhanced gaming or mining experience, this ASUS graphics card features MaxContact technology which features copper heat spreader that is in contact with the GPU is an industry-first cooling technology, allowing for twice as much contact with GPU for increased thermal transfer.
Set up SSH: If you’re going to set up SSH, there are two important things you need to do. Firstly, set up port forwarding on your router, so that traffic redirects to your rig. Secondly, use the below commands, to change the SSH port to something different e.g. 2221. While this won’t stop an attack if there is a port scan, it will reduce the possibility of an attack by a crawler. You can also consider using private & public keys to 100% ensure that only you can access the rig.
This pool is a great optimized stratum pool engine that can be found online. It offers you maximum transparent and detailed statistic related to your mining account. You can also monitor every mining ring via email. As well you do not need to register on the website in order to mine ETH.
You can use any personal computer to mine Ethereum, provided the system has a Graphic Card (GPU) with at least 2 GB of RAM. Central Processing Unit (CPU) mining is simply an exercise in frustration. It takes an extended period to complete, and the profits are little thanks to the cost. GPUs are your best bet as they are 200 times faster than CPUs when it comes to mining Ether. AMD cards are more efficient than Nvidia cards as well.
The AMD Radeon RX 580 is one of the very best GPUs for mining, and in fact is a bit of a victim of its own success, as it can sometimes be difficult to find. However, its popularity is warranted, as it offers an excellent hash rate of 29 mh/s, while also keeping the electricity consumption low as well. It’s also cheaper than the GTX 1070, and if you don’t mind tweaking a few settings, you’ll be very pleased with this card’s mining performance.
IMPORTANT: The following info is taken from the manufacturers and does not take into account and custom configuration such as overclocking, undervolting and BIOS modifications. Actual results vary depending on your customization. AMD cards allow for greater customization while Nvidia cards are locked to certain configurations.
1. PPS means payment per share (Pay Per Share). This means that each Share that mines has a specific value for the Ethereum mining network and that is what they pay you during the distribution of the group. If you mine intermittently for a certain period of time, this is the type of payment you want.
For beginners, a rig is going to require some significant processing power. This power is best achieved with Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) that are typically applied for 3D graphics in video games. Though it is possible to mining with Central Processing Units (CPUs), which link up all the right software and hardware in a computer system, GPUs are optimized and specialized in running recurrent operations over and again.
Some settings should be modified in Windows to get you ready for mining.  First, you don’t want your computer to go to Sleep as it will interrupt your mining so go into your Power Settings and set it to “Never” turn off/sleep.
The Radeon R9 295X2 has by far the highest hash rate (46.0 MH/s) of the Ethereum GPUs on the market and will cost you $600. It has a power cost per day of about $1.44, a return per day of about $1.61 and a cost per MH/s of $13.04. This gives a return per year of $586.43.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
Hey I have been following the above guide and also the guide on how to mine ethereum from cryptocompare but i just started using parity instead of geth t download the block data. Currently running a Nvidia K80 on a vm and I get only 13MHz hashrate, also I see that only 2GB (2001MiB) of the GPU memory is being used (I think total memory is over 50GB). Am i doing some mistake coz i was expecting hashrate in 100Mhz?

  1.  – For Power Supplies, you want to double check that your PSU has enough connections to support the number of GPU’s you are running and enough overall wattage to support your total system power draw (and to give yourself some buffer of at least 10-15%). A helpful site for identifying how many 6 or 8 pin PCI-E power connections your GPU will require is here (Realhardtechx.com) and to get a sense of your overall system power draw, this is a good power consumption calculator (outervision).  Pro Tip: if building multiple rigs stick with the same brand PSU as you can use extra cables on your other systems if needed (e.g. I use only EVGA G2 PSU’s so if I have extra VGA, sata or molex cables from one build I can use them on another build).
There are several providers who offer cloud-based mining. Hashgains offer you a one year contract and from then there is no maintenance fee for you to bother about. In the cloud, you have guaranteed uptime of nearly 100 percent. Even if one miner goes offline for some reason, your provider will automate them on the other active machines.
