had a quick question on setting up geth – I’ve gotten to step 7 and while syncing it keeps generating the same few lines of text (“imported new block receipts, imported new block headers”, etc.) should this be expected? how long does this usually take to complete?
SSI is a free tool that can be found here that tells us how many traders are long compared to how many traders are short each major currency pair. It’s meant to be used as a contrarian index where we want to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Using it as a direction filter for my trades has turned my trading career completely around.
Here’s the only real drawback to this card: It’s an all-round excellent performer, so that mining demand has driven its price from the regular $400 range to over $700! If you’re able to find it at a lower price, don’t hesitate to snap it up.
Good point though. Will provide ranges of what to expect (what’s good, great, or could be improved) as opposed to single numbers. Also, totally based on how an individual trades and risk tolerance/leverage….results vary drastically from person to person, as discussed
HASH RATE – as described before, Linux is not EFFICIENT and you will not get the same hash rate as on Windows, for example the exact same settings on a GPU on Linux would give you 28.8 MH/s and on Windows you will get 29.3 MH/s.
Ether is an absolute essential, as it serves as fuel for the smooth running of the Ethereum platform. An interesting way to look at Ether is an incentive used to motivate developers to create top notch applications.
The worst thing that could happen when once you’ve invested all the time and money involved in setting up your mining operation is a hardware failure or internet downtime. But when you mine with us, you can rest assured that any single piece of hardware failing does not mean the end of your operation thanks to scalability.
Merged-mining support was added – There were concerns that one or two big groups were dominating the Dogecoin mining scene, which led to the hypothetical possibility of a 51% attack, where a single group could corrupt the transaction network or blockchain, by virtue of controlling more than half of the processing power (hashrate).
Calling all gamers and crypto-miners! Surely you’ve heard that Radeon is releasing the AMD Vega Frontier Edition at the end of June (June 27 to be exact) and the RX Vega gaming card will be released at the end of July. If you’re thinking that you’ll be able to get your hands on one of these bad boys…
It is possible to mine Ethereum, using online services such as AWS, or DigitalOcean. However, no-one has managed to make this real-time profitable, and you should only take this root if you don’t wish to build your own rig and want to speculate on the pricing.
Is Ethereum mining profitable? This is one of the most asked questions about ethereum mining. The response is not so simple and clear because not all the parameters can be anticipated. Profitability depends on the hashrate and on the price of hardware and electricity but also on Eth price and on the how many other people are mining in the network. While most of the parametes are steady the last 2 are can change from on day to another.

A password will be of you at this stage, and extra care should be taken here. Be sure about your password, write it down if possible and be sure to type it in carefully. Press enter once again after typing in the password and voila! Your new account is created.
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to do mining using Linux, ethOS or Windows. I’ve made sure to cover the steps for each. You will also find some great tips, tricks, optimizations, and solutions to common troubleshooting issues.
There are two types of mining hardware: CPUs and GPUs. GPUs boast a higher hash rate, meaning they can guess puzzle answers more quickly. At time of writing, GPUs are now the only option for ether miners.
Below, I have outlined the considerations you need to keep in mind when choosing these base component and the popular options for each. You can use a website such as PCPartPicker to ensure that the parts you have chosen will work together. Also, if you’d like you can buy complete CPU, RAM and Motherboard bundles from gpuShack.
CloudFormation is a service in AWS that allows you to create ‘templates’ that define the systems you want to deploy as code. This makes it easy to save, replicate, and share the exact configuration of a system. The templates are created in JSON or YAML and are pretty flexible. This template can be used in any of the four US AWS Regions to deploy a Spot Fleet that will automatically mine Ether and deposit the proceeds in your Ethereum wallet.
Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for everyone. Before deciding to trade foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. Remember, you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment, which means that you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. If you have any doubts, it is advisable to seek advice from an independent financial advisor.
Carefull, as you can see in the displayed image in my case, I have on this mining rig 7 GPU’s enabled. The first one is an INTEGRATED GPU and it’s ID is -p0 , all others are mining gpu’s (p1,…p6). So if you have your integrated GPU disabled or for some reason you use a motherboard that does not have it, then your mining GPU id’s start from p0, but you can see the GPU’s order as displayed in the picture below. The GPU’s order in OverdriveNtool is the same as in the GPU-Z and Claymore 11.2.
With geth installed and set up, your rig will be a “node” in the network and will be capable of communicating with other nodes. This is an essential step in mining ethereum, as it allows you to deploy your own smart contracts and to send transactions across the network. However, you’ll still need mining software in order to proceed.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
Long considered the workhorse of GPU mining, the time has sadly arrived when the RX 400 and 500 series must be put out pasture—at least for Ethereum mining purposes. Unless you intend to mine other altcoins and can find an RX 580/570/480/470 at a good price, you should shun the rip-off prices that sellers often charge for these cards.
Of course, you could build your own massive computer system to mine Ether, but in the era of Public Cloud, why not just rent one from AWS? Good thinking! And I built a CloudFormation template to do exactly that.

  1. Etherem mining uses hard hashing techniques to mine the blocks, so a computer with a good or decent GPU and a good amount of graphics card is required. GPU can prove to be a good deal for Ethereum miners. GPU mining is energy-efficient and we do not have to worry about the systems storage.
Apart from the main components, you will also need GPU risers. I’d recommend getting USB powered 1x to 16x risers, which you can get from Amazon, for a few dollars. With some motherboard models, you will need to short some pins for the motherboard to recognize the riser. You can find a list of these here.
It was this break down of the Bretton Woods System that ultimately led to the mostly global acceptance of floating foreign exchange rates in 1976. This was effectively the “birth” of the current foreign currency exchange market, although it did not become widely electronically traded until about the mid 1990s.
Once installed, run the program and wait as the program will run a quick scan to detect your hardware and install software. Once this is complete, enter your bitcoin address in the top. This is important otherwise you will not get paid. Once you’ve inputted your bitcoin address, click on the benchmark button and start the scan. Once this is done you’re ready to start mining.
