Alternate Currencies   There are many different alternative currency that have sprung up based off of the idea and/or basic code of Bitcoin. A few of the more notable ones are litecoin, namecoin, PPCoin, and Ripple. To learn more about these, please visit our alternate currencies page.
I’m very happy with the mining service provided by Genesis Mining. When I signed up I paid via wire transfer and the payment was processed quickly such that mining started as soon as possible. The Web interface is clear an nice and payouts are done swiftly as well. All in all a very nice way to mine some crypto currencies!
Profitability will be spread out some, but have faith and never overspend what you cant get back. We will provide a costing spreadsheet on our next episode drop, this will allow you to keep taps on B/E. Working on finishing the API calls for difficulty/pricing.
Something I’ve done when building out a GPU mining farm, is to do the OS/DRIVERS/MINING setup and then just clone the solid state drive using a 2 bay hard drive dock with offline clone feature built in.
Ethereum is quite difficult to mine on your standard PC as there are quite a few step to go through as can be seen in our comprehensive guide here. If you aren’t tech savvy or willing to give a bit of time to getting it up and running yourself, there is another way. This is where you pay someone else to do it for you and get them to run the mining equipment on your behalf. You can compare all Bitcoin and Ethereum cloud mining contracts here.
The power supply is extremely important—don’t skimp on it! A good, efficient PSU will keep your electricity costs to a minimum and more than pay for itself over the long run. Seasonic, EVGA, and Corsair are all generally top brand choices. The 1200W unit that I’ve linked may seem like overkill, but power supplies are most efficient when they’re not running near their rated maximum load. A 6 GPU rig will draw about 750 watts (assuming 6x RX 570 cards, properly optimized), which means a 1200W PSU will have sufficient headroom to perform efficiently.
Hi Bhavesh, OK, this seems to be a fairly common error but it’s beyond my capabilities to diagnose precisely that log. I’ve seen a variety of solutions to this issue proposed on various forums: https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/18806/couldnt-connect-to-node/23153#23153 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/2426 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/wiki#unable-to-find-peers I suggest starting with the simple solutions first before trying the more advanced stuff. So if using Windows, start things up in Administrator mode. Then try starting Geth manually with the –nat=none flag. Then try starting from the command line as someone suggested. You can also backup your data directory, rename / move it, and let the wallet resync itself… From there,… Read more »
Nvidia’s latest flagship card, the Titan V, is a real beast. It uses a new type of graphics processor named Volta, which is also found in Tesla accelerators. The card is intended for serious number- crunching (such as machine learning, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC) applications).
A lot has been said about the Ethereum technology and how it works, but are you curious to know how to become a miner of ether. Mining sounds like a Stone age term but what it has to do in this Digital Age? No, we are not digging up earth to mine gold here but yes, we are digging software puzzles to get cryptocurrency Ether in return here. There are numerous ways to become a part of this network, let’s first precisely and briefly know what mining of ether will actually mean?
We’ll be seeing ETH go PoS this year, meaning there’s 1million+ graphic cards switching from ETH to other coins as well. This will create huge chaos for sure. Once that happens i hope miners have gotten their ROI
If you’re new to the world of crytocurrency mining, this guide should give even an absolute beginner all of the knowledge needed to put together an efficient Ethereum (or other GPU-minable altcoin) mining rig using readily-available consumer hardware.
DAG epoch is 131 right now I did a benchmark with DAG epoch 199 and it gives me almost half hashrate for each card but I think ETH may POS before DAG epoch 199 , plus I don’t have enough experience in trading and long term investments I have to do more researches maybe you are right and I’m just wasting my time and money also valuable electricity power
All the information on cryptocurrency transactions must be embedded in data blocks. Each block is linked internally to several other blocks. This creates the blockchain. These blocks must be analyzed as fast as possible to ensure a smooth running of transactions on the platform. However, the issuers of such currencies do not have the processing capabilities to handle this alone. It is where miners come in.

  1. After looking up the price of hardware and the associated costs of having my own rig, I’ve decided to leave it to the pros. I recommend that everyone read the FAQ so your expectations are better managed. SO FAR SO GOOD!!
    2. What PSU valtage do you recoment since both the logic that you used with the 20% rule and this calculator by OuterVision (https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator) (the same as the CoolerMaster one) is suggesting that you buy “bigger” PSU? (GPUs use a variable of 150, meaning around 1000 and then adding the processor and the 20% rule getting us at 1600W PSU or 2x650W PSUs) And since we are the the PSU topic – what brands do you recommend and do you recommend getting 2 PSU in the first place?
For powering 6 GPUs it’s important to buy a 1200W power supply with Platinum connectors. Using anything lower than a Platinum connector will cause a loss of energy during use; which will ultimately factor into your bottom line. If you’re planning on using less than 6 GPUs you can go with a less powerful power supply.
So today we’ve applied even more paint and we kept on the smaller details to make the room look good (or acceptable, depending on tastes). The room is quite big and it takes quite a while to paint it.
