Install your GPU Drivers like you normally would (Next, next, Ok, etc.) and reboot.  Afterward, you know your GPU’s are recognized correctly if you go into Device Manager (search in Windows search bar) and you don’t see any warning marks on your GPU’s and it shows them correctly like this:
While Ether seems to play better with AMD cards, ZCash is more friendly with NVIDIA, the GTX 1080Ti being one of the best performers in the segment with a hash rate between 700 and 750 MH/s. At the current ZEC value, mining difficulty and power costs, an NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti can bring you a monthly profit of approximately $126. While the figure is below what you stand to make with an AMD 295×2 mining Ether, using 1080Tis for ZEC mining has its advantages: GTX 1080Tis are much easier to come by nowadays than 295x2s, and have a significantly better resell value if mining become unviable.
What all cryptocurrencies have in common is their primary operating principle: they all rely on a decentralized network to store transaction information, which basically makes all transactions publicly accessible and incorruptible. This network is usually known as a blockchain, and consists of blocks each contains information about multiple transactions. When a transaction is initiated, it needs to be included in a block and verified for authenticity; the verification part is done through complex computations performed by – you guess it – miners.
You may have to ensure you have the correct virtual memory enabled (minimum 16GB). To do this, search for system in the start menu. Open system and on the left hand side click ‘Advanced System Settings.’ Go under the advanced tab, under performance settings, and advanced again. Then click ‘Change’ under virtual memory. Uncheck the box that states to ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’ and then input a custom size of 16384 (or whatever is the maximum allowable value) into the Initial and Maximum size fields. This will prevent you from having any errors with virtual memory.
Each block must have the proof of work of the given difficulty if it is to validated in consensus. The algorithm for validation is called Esthash. It has to do with identifying the nonce input to the result in such a way that it will be below a threshold that is determined by the difficulty. If the outputs are uniform in distribution, then the fact that the time required to find a nonce depends on the difficulty is guaranteed. In this case, simply manipulating the difficulty will allow a miner control how much time is required to find a new block.
Note that your Ethereum mining software will treat the HD 7990 as two separate GPUs with 3Gb RAM each, and miners with 2Gb GPUs have recently encountered some problems with the growing DAG file size 2Gb cards stopped working – 13/03/2016.

The GTX 1050TI has a hash rate of 11 Mh/s with a power draw of 70W, it will make a profit of 23.83 USD a month, with a power cost of 4.28 USD per month. It will take just over 6 months to pay off the GPU at 150 USD
Supply does rise to meet demand over time. However, Ethereum has experienced explosive growth with roughly a $35 billion dollar market cap currently, and this spike in Ethereum’s price has led to a fresh shortage of cards and correspondingly high prices.
When you first boot it up, you must have a single GPU connected to the x16 slot closest to the CPU. The initial boot up will take a few minutes. Once that’s done, you will need to change the remote and local config files. To help with this, gpuShack has a fantastic knowledge base. Of course, if you haven’t yet, then you will need to get yourself an Ethereum Wallet/ address.
One of three things is going on here, either the person really does not know what they are talking about (e.g. hashrates for RX 400 & 500 series, the R9 only coming in 4gb, etc), or they are advertising for Nvidia, or they are attempting to get a sell off for AMD cards. I don’t mind because I have been able to get some good prices on AMD cards lately with one guy even saying that he was selling cards he just purchased brand new in December because their technology was becoming obsolete. Probably read this article and took it… Read more »
Haters incoming in 3.. 2.. 1.. Seriously, there’s going to be a lot of AMD RX580 religious followers who are going to really trash this. Because they’re too stupid to realize that making a profit is more important than their AMD religion. And of course, if the RX580 prices were reasonable it would be the best pick. But there is no doubt for anyone with a brain that the GTX 1060 is the king right now in price/payback ratio.
1x RAM (System Memory) –  4 GB RAM – You don’t need a lot of system memory to mine ethereum effectively. 4GB is about as small as a stick of RAM comes these days, so I recommend just picking up a cheap one as long as it is DDR 4 desktop memory.
At the time of this writing, Ethereum (ETH) ranks second only to Bitcoin (BTC) in terms of market capitalization, with a total cap of almost $83 billion. In comparison, Bitcoin’s market cap exceeds $140 billion (after hitting a peak of more than $325 billion several weeks ago), and Litecoin (LTC), silver to Bitcoin’s gold, crests at only $6.8 billion.

It’s also recommended that you buy some additional PCIe to Molex (or SATA) connectors so that you can connect the risers to different rails on your PSU. Again, you can find these on Amazon, and will only cost a few dollars.
I am new to mining and want to build a rig. I think I have enough money invest in a very nice setup. Can you please tell me if the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC is the best GPU available on the market right now?
Why would it render them them unprofitable?? It’s not like you GTX 10XX card will stop working the day those come out. They GTX 20XX might be more (or less) profitable. There is too much unknown right now. If the GXT 2060 costs three times the price of the GTX 1060 and only hashes 50% more then the GTX 1060 will still be more profitable. Of course, if the price of Ether quadruples then almost any card could become relatively profitable. This is a game of four numbers: hashrate, card price, card power consumption, and coin price. Bottom line: The rig you build today doesn’t magically stop working when new hardware comes out.
