For purposes of this guide, we are going to do a detailed walk-through of setting up and using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and then follow along with the steps in this video.  The whole process of getting a wallet setup, downloading your miner, configuring things in Windows and setting up your batch file to run should take less than 10 minutes:
Before you decide that you’d like to start mining for ethereum, you first need to decide if it is going to be profitable for you. At first glance, it’s going to be incredibly easy, but you should know that mining is going to be a lot like trading stocks.
HydroMiner is a cryptocurrency mining company using green energy drawn from hydro power stations in the Alpine region of Europe. Hydro-power is generally thought to be one of the most effective and lowest-cost renewable energy resources. It is environmentally friendly, carbon-neutral and natural.
Fans. Liquid cooling requires more thought as it is the GPUs that require the cooling and you will have to purchase the correct GPU liquid cooling add-on, or purchase a GPU with the liquid cooling built in.
Ameer Rosic uses ‘if this than that’ logic to explain smart contracts. If we create a code online on the blockchain, and someone puts money into the contract, the next action will be executed. This may be a digital contract being sent to somebody’s email, for example. This trigger may execute something else, so on and so on.
I reckon just try running Claymore and see what it says. I’m not up to date on Ethereum mining but I heard that the ETH blockchain has gotten too big to sync normally. I don’t know how miners are handling that but presumably some kind of pruning or other solution is used.
One of the advantages of Ethereum over Bitcoin or Litecoin has to do with the algorithm chosen to validate the proof-of-work (PoW). While BTC relies on SHA-256 and Litecoin on Scrypt for its hash function, Ethereum calls on an algorithm called Ethash, created especially for this purpose. In practice, it was designed from the start to prevent the development of dedicated ASICs to mine it.
While you will still be using your GPUs or ASICs, you have the choice to choose between mining in a pool, or by yourself, hence “solo” mining. Pool mining is where you join with a group of other miners and every miner contributes to mining blocks. The between this and solo mining is that your payouts are more consistent. Solo mining is hard, especially if you are running a small rig because you will most likely not find a block for a very long time unless you get very lucky. You can use the Coin Warz calculator to estimate how long it will take you to mine a block by yourself. Another benefit of pool mining is that it’s more consistent. You will get your payments consistently, unlike solo mining where it may take a very long time to get your payout. I recommend the Ethermine.org and Nanopool.org pools, each have a large list of crypto-pools to choose from. You can also check if your rig is online here, as well as how much crypto you have mined.
There are two downsides to this card, though: 1) it’s extremely hard to come-by, as the card has been discontinued for quite a while now, so you can only get a used one, and the prices tend to grow with every second, and 2) its official power requirement is 450W, meaning that a setup with multiple RX 295x2s (if you are lucky enough to get a hold of more of these beauties) will require a massive power supply, or multiple (just as massive) ones.
I have a 1080ti and would like to pick up some extra cash by mining, but I don’t want to degrade it’s life. I just got it a month ago and it is supposed to last me several years. How can I pick up some extra cash without it costing me another gpu?
Mining pools are not to be confused with Ethereum cloud mining where the full task of mining is outsourced to an organisation which supplies the hardware and running costs and pays you a dividend based on your investment.
With so many mining pools at play in the market, solo miners are finding it more difficult to get blocks to process and the Ethereum mining rig that a solo-miner uses, needs to have massive processing power to be able to compete with the pools, which can be very expensive.
Ethereum Mining can be done in the comfort of your home. It requires script writing and some knowledge of the command prompt. It is quite easy and exciting once the process is broken down into manageable steps.
Listed below are the components along with the amount you will need to assemble your GPU mining rig. Once your components arrive, you will want to come back to this guide for assembly and configuration instructions. I’ve included a YouTube video further down the page with complete assembly instructions as well.
An uncle is a stale block, usually beat to the blockchain by another block. The Ethereum network compensates miners for these though they receive a lesser reward. As you mine a block, you’ll receive a reward for no more than two uncle blocks included. The pay you receive is for uncles up to six blocks back.
A Bitcoin ASIC’s specification could be seen as having a certain hash rate (e.g. Gh/s) at a certain efficiency (e.g. J/Gh). While cost is another factor, this is often a relatively fixed factor as the minimum cost of a chip will be determined by the fabrication process, while the maximum cost will be determined by market forces, which are outside of post-fabrication technological control.
2.6 Type in cd cpp and then press tab and then enter. This is taking you into the newly installed Ethereum Mining software folder. And this should look like this after pressing tab C:\Program Files>cd cpp-ethereum and pressing enter gives you C:\Program Files\cpp-ethereum>
There is actually no best Ethereum pool existent. All of the reliable Ethereum mining pools serve a great way to get your Ethers or just to get paid. However, there is a difference between the fees that Ethereum pools charge. Moreover, you would want the Ethereum pool’s server to be near you for better connection and speed.
