We’ll be seeing ETH go PoS this year, meaning there’s 1million+ graphic cards switching from ETH to other coins as well. This will create huge chaos for sure. Once that happens i hope miners have gotten their ROI
The most energy efficient GPUs around come from Nvidia. Unfortunately, Nvidia GPUs aren’t quite as good at solving cryptographic hashes as AMD hardware. More or less, if you want energy efficiency (without paying a fortune for a 1070 or 1080), your only option is an AMD graphics card. The most energy efficient of these is the AMD Radeon RX 460 or RX 470 (or the pricier RX 560 and RX 570). The RX 470 pulls around 145 watts, with the recommended power supply for it producing around 350 total watts. The RX 460 on the other hand, uses a total of 75 watts. That makes it easier to deploy on single-card mining rigs.
Now you’re talking about difficulty increase of 100%, which with this rate is easily going to happen before summer, might even be by march. Hopefully price will increase as well, but at some point we’ll be seeing a saturated market (especially once ETH goes PoS), so your prediction here is that 12-18months payback period. While i’d not speculate more than 6-8 months in the future. Because we can’t possibly know what will happen once PoS happens.
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin & Ethereum have grown tremendously since they were created, and as more people and businesses adopt them the value will only continue to rise. For example, Ethereum has already grown over 4000% this year alone!

With the prices of graphics cards rising due to the cryptocurrency gold rush, it’s now more sensible to buy a pre-built device for mining cryptocurrencies, which is where our best mining rig 2018 list comes in.
According to claims made on their website, $100 invested over a period of 1 year in bitcoin mining would fetch a return 252.77% or will turn into $ 252.77. Hashocean is another provider, which claims to have 392,314 users as of the writing of this article and say they have paid out 137,495 BTC since they started operations. Here is a comparison of some Bitcoin mining contracts according to cryptocompare.com.
A couple of days ago I shared a quick tutorial on how to mine ETC (Ethereum Classic) with SMOS (Simple Mining OS), as there is an upcoming ETC Callisto airdrop happening, the idea to pre-mine couple of ETC’s sounded…
We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).
You can use any personal computer to mine Ethereum, provided the system has a Graphic Card (GPU) with at least 2 GB of RAM. Central Processing Unit (CPU) mining is simply an exercise in frustration. It takes an extended period to complete, and the profits are little thanks to the cost. GPUs are your best bet as they are 200 times faster than CPUs when it comes to mining Ether. AMD cards are more efficient than Nvidia cards as well.

Etherem mining uses hard hashing techniques to mine the blocks, so a computer with a good or decent GPU and a good amount of graphics card is required. GPU can prove to be a good deal for Ethereum miners. GPU mining is energy-efficient and we do not have to worry about the systems storage.
Transaction Fees   This is a small, optional fee attached to a Bitcoin transfer. Upon the completion of all 21 million bitcoins being created, these fees will provide the reward to encourage miner to continue mining and verifying the network transactions.
Let’s see how to choose the right hardware and build a universal mining rig for the Dagger Hashimoto (Ethash) algorithm for such coins as Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Metaverse, Expanse, Musicoin, Pirl, Whale, and an Equihash algorithm for Zcash, ZClassic, Zencash, Bitcoin Gold.
Very good guide and an interesting read. I was wondering, lets say you can only lay hands on 3 gpu’s initially. Is it worth bringing up the rig with half gpu’s and then adding the rest as you can find them?
In your test calculations, you will likely see that some cloud mining services will be profitable for a few months, but, as the difficulty level of bitcoin increases, you would probably start to make a loss in four to six months and beyond.
I prefer using what’s called a picoPSU. A picoPSU generally supplies power somewhere under 200 watts. It also tends to offer higher efficiencies than standard power supplies, at around 80 to 90 percent efficiency. If you’re using an RX 460, you can get away with a picoPSU. The model I recommend is the 160-XT. The XT includes a 4-pin CPU connector.
Up to a point, more VRAM will also improve performance. The present difference between a 4- and 8-gig version of the same card can be up to 5 MH/s (To clarify, MH/s stands for megahash per second, and a megahash is a million hash attempts.)
Now, the total amount I’ve invested so far in my GPU mining rig is $1,365 – and currently, it gives me a hashing power of 41 MH/s. Again I haven’t yet calculated precise electricity consumption, but for the sake of this experiment, let’s assume it’s 300 Watts.
This is outsourcing the mining. Cloud mining companies will charge you a fee, usually for a fixed-term contract. A short contract might be one year.Cloud mining is profitable because the GPUs are bought in bulk, hence at discounts.
14.73 ETH – Now, that already seems as a nice result. If converted back to the USD using today’s ETH pricing (which is wrong, as we have no clue what will be the price for ETH at the end of 2018) we could get $6959.33, or profit at $3,079. Nice.
Mining profitability is a variable and depends largely on the type of mining software you own, the cost of electricity in your locale, the current price of the cryptocurrency you are mining and, of course, your own overheads.
Ameer Rosic uses ‘if this than that’ logic to explain smart contracts. If we create a code online on the blockchain, and someone puts money into the contract, the next action will be executed. This may be a digital contract being sent to somebody’s email, for example. This trigger may execute something else, so on and so on.
February 16 marks a small 2-month anniversary since I’ve started to mine Ethereum and others altcoins. In today’s article let’s take a quick review and try to understand is GPU mining still profitable in 2018? It all…

When you execute a transaction or contract in the Ethereum network, you use gas. A calculation that requires more hashes or computing capability will need more gas. While gas is not a token, it is usually measured and paid out as a fraction of ether. Gas is important because it assigns a value to transactions within the network. It prevents miners from performing computations that have no value to the system and makes it costly for scammers to attack.
