I assume cards with 8+6pin would draw 150W+75W from the pcie cables so the powered riser may have less stress? But that would mean the riser needs its own power input cable which can be scarce depending on the PSU setup.
The hash rate in the Ethereum network has been rising over the past few years.You would expect blocks to be mined faster with this rise but they are not because the network automatically adjusts difficulty so that a new block is mined at the constant time of 12 seconds. Consequently, you will always need a faster device which has a higher hash rate to mine.
Ever since I’m building new cryptocurrency mining rigs I’m including SSD rather than HDD. The reason is SSD is fast and by using SSD I would increase the transfer speed and decrease the time. Also, other things that I think about SSD are – They use less power consuming and also if you are starting up your mining rig the boot time is reduced and soon you will be mining.

The card should have at least 3 gigs of RAM or it won’t be able to properly mine Ethereum. This is due to the growing DAG file (directed acyclic graph) used in the Ethereum Proof of Work hashing process.  
not if ethereum is your only plan and you have to pay full price on cards. i can buy cards as business expense, so no tax for me. i can write them off, so they’re again half in price. i bought some to a decent low price, (gtx 1070 for 400€) so total expenses I need for break even is 180€ per card. this should/could work out. and if not, I can sell the cards off for half the price and still be able to break even (without any cent mined), although I would rather stick to it and mine for the only real reason to mine: support an idea. be it a crypto currency or something like folding at home.
3) Mining Rig Case. No need to purchase a specific mining rig for 100’s of $$$. They are nice and well made but a waste of money. Buy a three tier Metal Storage Rack from Walmart for about $30. Good air flow, stable and easy to move. Put your motherboard and power supply’s on the middle shelf, 5 GPUs top shelf and 5 GPUs bottom shelf. Can easily attach everything and shelf is stable yet easy to move. For the GPUs they won’t sit upright themselves, however if you get a dowel from walmart (sold in the craft area) (1/4″???) you can hook each of the GPUs to the dowel using a small binder clip and they will sit perfectly straight and support each other from falling.
Being that new to BTC mining I can not say allot. yet from all the time and due diligence of reading reviews for the mining services. I have ZERO computer skills, and I am sorry if this question come across as stupid but I truly don’t have a clue how this all works. Do you happen to have directions for putting this together? Also, when everything is put together do I just turn it on and start mining? I am sure that I will need software to work this but do you know where I can get the software needed to run these? Yes yes and yes. I’m 100% with you here. The issue is if the difficulty currently keeps increasing as it has, there will be no 6 or 8 month ROI it will never come. Unless it really really flattens out it will be infinity ROI for any miner getting in now unless they’re getting their GPU’s for $120/card or so. And yeah we’ve discussed this before and it ultimately comes down to the fact that no one knows the future so it’s all about what you think will happen.

Hi Steemians, a few days ago I had a talk with a friend about Ethereum mining. Last year I invested 50 € in Ethereum Cloud Mining for him for example and now he has 2.3 Ether worth over 550 $. If I had bought Ether directly for 50€ last year, it would be more than 5 ETH worth over 1000 € today. So the question is: What is more profitable in 2017? Buying Ether, or Ethereum Cloud Mining?
worst article ever, get your fact right, you state different speeds for the same card (RX vega 64) and clearly you dont have a clue, i mine with rx580 and my hashrate its 30 with bios mod and propper patched drivers for mining
The diff change value is calculated by looking at the current difficulty and comparing it to the 12 hour moving average of the difficulty one month ago. For smaller coins the diff change can sometimes be inaccurate due to a wildly fluctuating difficulty.
As already mentioned the ethereum mining is done using graphic cards. As graphic cards can not work by themselfs, the ethereum mining hardware consists of a omputer which has as many graphic cards attached as possible. Those computers are called mining rigs and in gereral they have around 6 gpus powered by 1-2 power supply units.
Looking at the value of GPUs on Amazon.com gives you a pretty good idea that your GPU may very easily depreciate to a value of less than $100. Even at $100, your total resale value would be $400. This would bring your overall revenue to $3,316.59 and your profits to $316.59, which is about a 10.5 percent return.

I had two previous contracts one for Bitcoin and one for Ether, both had very good returns with regular deposits to my wallet. Just took out a much larger DASH contract for 2 years, deposits of dash started the next day.
