The great part about these is that they are quite power efficient, and with a bit of tinkering, you can go below their 150W TDP without losing in the performance chapter. In a blockchain, transactions are added in a block, then the block is closed and added in the chain. After that a new block is open. In order to maintain the consistency over the network, only one miner can close a block in a specified moment. That miner is the one which solves first the hash problem and finds the winning solution. It is very easy to burn out your GPUs – I’ve done in two, but luckily got warranty replacements. The first just stopped working after one day. And one of the fans got “sticky” in the second one after a few months.
Lastly, as a miner ensure that you are aware of the way your preferred mining pool pays out. Does it do a daily payout? Or any other type of payment method? Endeavour to know these things as it will help you to decide the right mining pool.
That is an excellent hash rate as long as your cards don’t overheat. I like to keep my GPU’s around 65 degrees Celsius. Also, the reason I dial mine back to around 31Mh/s is because power usage goes up significantly once you bump the cards past 32Mh/s.
I’ve tried creating a batch script with every iteration of the final line, it does nothing. The CMD prompt appears and then closes within a second. I’ve been at this for HOURS. Any help would be awesome….
Here’s the only real drawback to this card: It’s an all-round excellent performer, so that mining demand has driven its price from the regular $400 range to over $700! If you’re able to find it at a lower price, don’t hesitate to snap it up.
If NVidia and AMD released their high-end cards 1080Ti, Vega 65, etc. with 3.5GB of RAM and a lower price to reflect less gRAM. These wouldn’t be of interest to miners while still being of use to gamers. Do you think gamers would buy them?
Long considered the workhorse of GPU mining, the time has sadly arrived when the RX 400 and 500 series must be put out to pasture—at least for Ethereum mining purposes. Unless you intend to mine other altcoins and can find an RX 580/570/480/470 at a good price, you should shun the rip-off prices that sellers often charge for these cards.
Double click your Bat file to start the miner.  The miner will start, run the setx commands to set those environment variables, initialize each of your GPU’s, build the DAG file on each of your GPU’s and start hashing away.  Let it run for about 20 seconds and then click “s” to have it show your Hashing speed.  You can use that back in the calculator again to determine a more accurate representation of your earnings.   
Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a bios modification question. I have a rig running mostly rx470 mining editions, are these cards already maxed out when it comes to tweeking their bios? Im asking becuase i have tryed to tweek them in the past and run into issues and a loss in hash rate…

You would need to flash your GPU BIOS using Windows. I have specifically not covered this in detail as it’s risky and I do not wish to take responsibility for flashed GPUs. However, there are plenty of sites out there that show you how to do it.

Quite the opposite I’d think. Gamers purchasing high end cards wouldn’t want them to be hamstrung by a lack of VRAM to play at higher resolutions, whereas I don’t think most mining algorithms would be significantly affected. The only concern would be Eth DAG size reaching 3.5 GB, but it’s entirely possible it’ll go PoS and end eth mining before then anyway. And regardless, you can always mine a different coin.
2.2 Click on the download and click install. Your firewall can cause issues but just click allow if it does so – the same is true of windows that doesn’t recognise or approve the software – tell windows its ok when Click through the installation process until Ethminer is installed.
Both Nanopool and Ethermine can run different software to hash for Ethereum. I recommend running Claymore Dual Miner which allows you to hash for both Ethereum, as well as an alternative currency. This is because Ethereum heavily relies on memory usage while the core processor sits idle. While dual mining, the memory of your video card will hash for Ethereum, and the core processor will hash for Decred or Siacoin as an example.
