Minex Review: Minex is an innovative aggregator of blockchain projects presented in an economic simulation game format. Users purchase Cloudpacks which can then be used to build an index from pre-picked sets of cloud mining farms, lotteries, casinos, real-world markets and much more.
Thanks for the comment. I believe that Nixon ended convertibility into gold — he did not end the relationship between the US’s gold reserves and the dollar. The dollar is still backed by the tremendous amount of reserves held by the US government, which is why it’s among the most stable currencies in the world.
The computer industry’s use of kilobyte, megabyte, and gigabyte is inconsistent with the SI. The Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) has redefined the prefixes kilo-, mega- and giga- in correspondence with bit and byte as powers of 1024 instead of 1000. Higher prefixes were not redefined by JEDEC.
GeForce Titan V from Nvidia is perfect for those who are looking for the Ethereum mining hardware with an unmatched hashrate. Titan V uses a new type of graphics processor named Volta, which is a brand-new architecture that’s quite different from Pascal and Maxwell, with 64 CUDA cores per SM (instead of the usual 128), HBM2 memory, and other changes that Nvidia hasn’t fully disclosed at this time. The same processor is also found in Tesla accelerators. The Nvidia Titan V targets a very specific audience and is intended for serious number- crunching (such as machine learning, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC) applications).
So, with our eyes on Ethereum in particular, being the new rising star, that’s exactly what we did here at HotHardware (1 ETH = ~ $277.85 as of this publication). We also learned some handy tips for tweaking your mining rig for maximum hash rate throughput, while keeping your heat and energy consumption at a minimum. We will be sharing these as well has some key hardware benchmark metrics and suggestions to help boost your personal mining potential.
These cards are quite effective when it comes to power consumption and they are long considered the workhorse of GPU mining. The cards from the RX 400 and 500 series feature a really amazing cooling and can boast a performance that ideally matches the initial price, but the time has sadly arrived when the cards from these series must be put out to pasture – at least for Ethereum mining purposes. Yet, you can use an RX 580/570/480/470 only for mining altcoins, but unless you can find them at a good price, you should shun the rip-off prices that sellers often charge for these cards.
Ethereum intends to switch to a Proof of Stake scheme called Casper. Although this switch has been delayed, it’s reasonable to expect that it will occur in late 2018. Ethereum mining will no longer be possible after that, unless a hybrid Proof of Work/Proof of Stake model is implemented.
This is another great graphics card for mining, although it pulls more power than the 1050Ti and has a steeper starting price, it pays off with its large hash rate bump. This card also has an external power connector, so you will not be able to plug this into any old desktop computer. However, this card is an excellent performer on the ETHash algorithm, as well as EquiHash. Keep in mind that if you choose the 3GB variant you should know that in the future, you will not be able to mine some coins on the ETHash algorithm due to how the algorithm functions; where the DAG file is stored in the GPUs VRAM. Even though this shouldn’t be a problem for a long time, it is worth noting. You can check the DAG size for many popular coins on this website.
Install Claymore Dual Miner, edit the config file with your Ethereum address and miner name. Drop a shortcut to the mining software .exe file in your system startup folder if you’d like to auto-start mining when Windows boots up. You can find the system startup folder in Windows 10 by going to: Start > Run  and entering ‘shell:startup’.
A fixed maintenance fee is deducted from all Open-Ended contracts for as long as they are profitable. Current maintenance fee: USD 0.00028 per GH/s per day. Be aware that the fee is fixed in USD, but deducted from the daily payouts in BTC. Please refer to the contract for further details.
So far, I am very satisfied with my purchase of the 2 Year Litecoin Contracts. I think Litecoin is going to be more profitable than what it is now and will be buying more when I can. Thank you for providing this service.
The Fury X has a hash rate of around 28 Mh/s and a power draw of 275W, it will make 54.73 USD a month in profit, with a power cost of 16.83 per month. It will take 7 and a half months to pay off at 500 CAD.
Interesting blog. I was about to post a similair post. The decision to buy a coin should be based on real analysis of the coin. I found that people keep buying coins without have any knowledge of them. This is considered high risk. I was wondering if anyone of you uses: https://www.coincheckup.com. Every single coin can be analysed here based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model and much more. Go to: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Zcash#analysis To check Zcash Research report.
I have a mining rig at home as well to compare the income variations. (you can check any ETH mining difficulties chart which is available online too). What i can conclude is that the Genesis Mining payout declining speed is faster than the actual mining difficulty increase rate.
AS THE bitcoin price continues to fall, sceptics have started to wonder what will happen to the industry underpinning this digital “crypto-currency”. Around the world, hundreds of thousands of specialised computers have been built to create (or “mine”) bitcoins and, in the process, validate transactions and protect the system. How does bitcoin mining work?
While our introductory course was a basic overview that familiarized you to tools and resources in a broad sense, this course is much more concrete with walkthroughs, personal examples, and analysis. A real emphasis is put on tangible experiences based on over a decade of combined experience.
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 231,987 GH/s and using a ETH – USD exchange rate of 1 ETH = $ 685.18. These figures vary based on the total network hash rate and on the ETH to USD conversion rate. Block reward is fixed at 3 ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.12 per kWh. Network hash rate varies over time, this is just an estimation based on current values.
I’ll continue to scour for deals and add a card or two here and there for the right price, but I won’t pay over $280 for a card unless it’s a 580 8gb or 1070+ in which I have no NVIDIA cards at the moment anyway, and even then I won’t go much higher or I’ll just pass up the deal and be happy where I’m at.
For me, my aim was to find out more about the Ethereum network as I am a software developer and the possibility of programming smart contracts is like playing with a giant box of Lego Mindstorm, with unlimited pieces.
Notice the wave pattern in the chart? Our guess is its claymore’s dev fee kicking in at that time. We also seemed to had some internet outage (and that is the most annoying thing ever – no internet, no mining)
ethereum mining is profitable, but there are some other coins available for mining, like monero, that can be a good choice for you depending on your purposes. and with the electricity cost how long mining ethereum will be profitable we don’t know. but some are predicting about its better future. one of friend informed me that he is earning good, and he is hoping for more.
Never underestimate the power of the Radeon RX 400 series. The Radeon RX 480 is not only the cheapest GPU in this list, it is also easily the most economic GPU. This card has a hash rate of 25 MH/s while only drawing 150 W at max load. You’ll make over $700 USD annually per card! Comparitively to the RX 580, this card is an awesome Ethereum miner!
