I think 1 Ethereum token will be anywhere between 2,000–5,000USD by late 2018 with the current circulation supply. In comparison to Bitcoin, Ethereum has had over a 5000% increase over the past year & Bitcoin has had around 1100% increase (Nov. 2016 – Nov. 2017). Last year around this time Bitcoin was around 700USD & Ethereum was around like 7USD. Even at 700USD & all of these alt coins, Bitcoin was still able to do over 1000%. If Bitcoin can pull off 1000% at 700USD, I don’t see why Ethereum can’t pull of at least a 1000% increase at around 480USD (current price of 1 ETH) being that they already accomplished a 5000% increase for 2017 alongside the dominance of Bitcoin placing #2 in the overall cryptocurreny market. Let’s GO ETH!
As the price of Ethereum hovers around $300, you may be wondering to yourself whether or not it’s worthwhile to begin mining. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is a proof-of-work coin that uses miners to confirm network transactions. The profitability of mining varies from person to person and changes over time – usually becoming less profitable as the coin matures.
So what I’m hearing, if I understand you correctly, is that it would still be a percentage of how much you have staked, only that the percentage would not be fixed and would instead vary depending on consensus of the miners. Since everyone is distributed reward based on the amount they have staked that sounds like what is effectively happening.
All I see when I turn shaders on is pitch black, with 7 diff images of screen, each one getting smaller and smaller, and blurier, and blurier, and no, Im not holusinating, but i can see all guis just fine(pause menu, inventory, f3, and the little plus sign in middle of screen) plz help this is best shaders version out there
I also use EthOS and when I started I believe it saved me a LOT of time and effort on the software side of things, because it just works. No messing with which drivers, which OS, etc – you just edit a config to point to your wallet and reboot it and it mines. Some people bitch about paying for it, which I understand, but the quicker you can get a rig up and mining the sooner you will be earning ETH and that was definitely worth the price of EthOS to me. It is a good beginner’s option if you aren’t scared of (a little bit of) Linux.
The value of bitcoin fell below US$10,000 in recent trading, after the US Securities and Exchange Commission instructed online trading platforms to register with the agency as exchanges, in a move that’s seen as adding more restrictions to the unfettered movement of digital currency.
So the platform itself has general practical value above all other crypto’s and that value grows with broader adoption. The high profitability of mining now is only because the mining infrastructure has not been able to keep pace with the growth in value. The huge Chinese farms that are coming online now are putting a huge dent in the equation though.
If you can somehow locate your servers in Quebec, Canada; you get hydroelectric power for 8.92¢/kWh (or 6.62¢/kWh in USD). Otherwise, try to review your options for power sources. IMHO — this factor will significantly impact your risk as it is a recurring cost. For comparison sake, locating the mining servers in Florida would cost at least twice as much, not even factoring additional air conditioning requirements. Within a couple years, this difference adds up to the entire hardware cost.
Thanks for the comment. I believe that Nixon ended convertibility into gold — he did not end the relationship between the US’s gold reserves and the dollar. The dollar is still backed by the tremendous amount of reserves held by the US government, which is why it’s among the most stable currencies in the world.
Understand, however, that the operative word is bet. In the two years I’ve been mining, I’ve gone through three pools. One became too small to sustain itself, one was DDOS’d to death, and 50BTC technically claims to still be operating, but its account system has been screwed up for nearly two months and the support staff no longer answer emails. Its FAQ on the attack hasn’t been updated in weeks. All withdrawals are frozen.
Stratis: Yes I know that (STRAT) recently reached six dollars, but y’all said this when ethereum hit 9 dollars. This is the same product with an easier to use code. I bought at 18 cents and haven’t looked back. A money train to take home to the bank.
Aether theories (also known as ether theories) in physics propose the existence of a medium, the aether (also spelled ether, from the Greek word (αἰθήρ), meaning “upper air” or “pure, fresh air”[1]), a space-filling substance or field, thought to be necessary as a transmission medium for the propagation of electromagnetic or gravitational forces. The assorted aether theories embody the various conceptions of this “medium” and “substance”. This early modern aether has little in common with the aether of classical elements from which the name was borrowed. Since the development of special relativity, theories using a substantial aether fell out of use in modern physics, and were replaced by more abstract models.[2]
Building an Ethereum mining rig is really like growing your own money tree.  The rig will run and crank away and create wealth (in digital currency) while you sit back and reap the rewards.  It takes a little tech savviness but anyone can learn how to build their own rigs.
It’s possible to manage the heat with air conditioning and additional fans, but for every fan you add to the equation, the noise levels rise ever so slightly. With four cards and the extra fan running, the mining rig produces 54-56dB of constant noise. Admittedly, the small 8-inch fan that I’m running produces the bulk of the noise, but even with the fan turned off, the volume level in the room is considerable.
Bonus Sleeper: Library Credits (LBC). This one is easy, they are launching their product in June, which sounds awesome (decentralized youtube) and is dirt cheap due to its recent pullback. A must accumulate ahead of its launch.
1) A MotherBoard – A motherboard is the brain of the computer and is what you build everything onto – the base of your mining rig. The main feature you are looking for in a motherboard is the number of GPU slots it has as this will determine how many graphics cards or GPU’s it can fit – and in the end your total hashing power. 3 PCI Express slots will mean you can fit 3 x Radeon HD 7950 with a hashrate of 20 MH/s each – or a total hashing power of 60 MH/s. A PCI Express slot is a connection port on the motherboard and looks like the picture below – they are often coloured white but can be beige – you can get other types of slots but most GPU’s work on a PCI express.
Believe it or not, the Power Color RX which is otherwise a very efficient mining card, dumps more heat into the room than any other GPU in this roundup. After a little more than 10 minutes of mining, the card reaches nearly 80°C.
Hello @DHG9691 , i know! I have a lot of people asking me how i got mine to work…. and prolly 90% of Z170 borads DO NOT support more then 4 GPUs on a Hardware level… (This may be fixed on next iterations of the BIOS and/or Firmwares) But by now
 – For Power Supplies, you want to double check that your PSU has enough connections to support the number of GPU’s you are running and enough overall wattage to support your total system power draw (and to give yourself some buffer of at least 10-15%). A helpful site for identifying how many 6 or 8 pin PCI-E power connections your GPU will require is here (Realhardtechx.com) and to get a sense of your overall system power draw, this is a good power consumption calculator (outervision).  Pro Tip: if building multiple rigs stick with the same brand PSU as you can use extra cables on your other systems if needed (e.g. I use only EVGA G2 PSU’s so if I have extra VGA, sata or molex cables from one build I can use them on another build).
And if i do install Claymore Dual Miner onto Linux OS, is this software only good for Ethereum mining ? If i want to mine for another crypto currency, do i need to install another software on Linux OS for that ??? Do other mining software available for Linux OS ?
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 109,271 GH/s and using an ETH – USD exchange rate of 1 ETH =306.01. Block reward is fixed at 3  ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.074 per kWh.
It could still be profitable. Hashflare raised their prices recently but Hashzone, based out of Amsterdam Netherlands, has cheaper mining contracts compared to Hashflare and for a limited time they’re giving away 20 GH/s free with new sign-ups. Also, they have a great support team. Been happy with them.
Im very glad this helped you Decio!!! If you have a low budget then don’t worry you can eventually increase the number of GPU’s atached. So, if you are going to use 3 GPu now you can also buy the Motherboard that I recommeded. It will not affect your mining efficiency everything will be fine. Go with it!!!
It’s been a while since we updated this series this past summer, but our answer for the “Is it worth it?” question has remained mostly the same. Ethereum saw increasing difficulty throughout the fall and little increase in price, which made mining steadily less and less attractive. But recently, Ethereum has boomed to be priced at around $700-$800, which has led to a resurgence in mining interest.
As with any overhaul texture pack or general shaders pack, it is highly recommended to run Sonic Ether’s shaders on a computer than can handle the graphical overhaul. While these features are beautiful and realistic, older computers may have a hard time keeping up with the vast and vibrant graphical changes.
