2) After generating the Account, add a wallet and write down or copy to a text file the unique address. This address will start with the characters “0x”. It’s necessary for receiving ETH mining rewards!
However, you can’t use any GPU. Some are better than others when it comes to mining. For example, the GTX 1060 is a great GPU for gaming, but it’s not the best mining GPU on the market in its price range.
Looks awesome right?  A mining rig is made up the same components that go into normal desktop computer.  But there are a few differences.  In a normal desktop computer, you kind of have a good balance between CPU, RAM, GPU, and HD.  With gaming computers, you have higher clocked versions of CPU, loads of RAM, one or two GPUs and SDDs.
In the new terminal window, type ‘cd prog’ followed by the tab key. ‘C:\>cd prog’ should now be on display, press the tab key again to display ‘C:/> cd “Program Files”‘ then push the enter key to show ‘C:\Program Files>.’
The calculations neglect the electricity used by the other computer components, but these are usually negligible, especially if you have multiple GPUs in a single rig. In my case, I am mining with multiple RX480s, and expect to generate around $200 a month. Since all the equipment cost me $2000, I will break even after ten months, and make $400 profit or 20% by the end of the year.
To join a cloud mining pool, you must purchase shares online. Choose from any one of the plans, pay for the plans you choose and once done start mining. Your provider signs the contract for one year and takes complete responsibility for all the infrastructure, and maintenance tasks. They will provide all hardware and software, pay for licenses, while you focus on mining and collecting your mined coins.
In terms of Ethereum mining performance, the R9 series has aged far more gracefully (even though it was introduced in 2015) than the more recent RX 400 / 500 series (which launched in 2016 and 2017, respectively).
Or in simple words, you can say a mining pool is a platform where different miners join and help each other to mine Ethereum using their cryptocurrency mining device or CPU power. Also once the mining pool generates a good amount of Ethereum, it gets divided into every miner equally.
Payouts on Nicehash are minimum 0.1BTC four times per day. It’s also important to note that nicehash is approximately 20% less overall hashrate, but the switching feature may allow you to be more profitable than if you were to simply mine Ethereum.
Both Nanopool and Ethermine can run different software to hash for Ethereum. I recommend running Claymore Dual Miner which allows you to hash for both Ethereum, as well as an alternative currency. This is because Ethereum heavily relies on memory usage while the core processor sits idle. While dual mining, the memory of your video card will hash for Ethereum, and the core processor will hash for Decred or Siacoin as an example.
Your account balance needs to reach 1.01 Ethereum before payout and the pool pays out 6 times per day. Unless you’re mining with a powerful mining rig or using multiple miners, you may want to join a pool with a lower payout minimum.
2.3 You need to open up another command prompt as in step 4 – so your going to get two scary looking boxes. Simply click right click on your already open command prompt in the taskbar at the bottom of the page and click on command prompt in the menu that appears. A new command prompt should open with C:\users\username>. This is the wrong place to look for ethminer so you need to tell it the right place to find it.
Third, select the Graphics card you intend to use for mining. The calculator automatically enters the correct hashrate and power consumption. If your card isn’t listed or you’ve modified its performance, select the Custom option and enter the relevant figures manually. Note that GPU hashrates are entered in (Megahash per second aka MH/s; denoting millions of calculations per second).

Troubleshooting tip:  Some miners have had success installing all GPU’s at once and then installing the drivers.  Others prefer to install only one card, install the drivers, shut down the system and then install the rest of the GPU’s and then just let them all be recognized by Windows (you’ll feel the system lagging, some flickers, or brief black screens while each card is detected by Windows).
The GTX 1060 has a hashrate of between 22-27 MH/s (Ethereum) depending on overclocking, and which memory brand is installed on your card.  The card consumes between 90 and 100 watts of electricity. It can currently be purchased for roughly $250 on Amazon and Newegg. This gives you a break-even time of 3.5 months.  Much better than a Titan V!
The card also excels at mining. The hashrate of this card tends to be 70 Mh/s, but it increases up to 82 MH/s when it’s pushed to its limits. One more thing worth noting is that the power consumption doesn’t exceed 215 W. In the raw hash power stakes, Titan V puts Nvidia far ahead in the raw hash-power stakes, and beats out the closest rival from AMD – RX Vega 64, which consumes more power consumption if overclocked. Titan V is super efficient and can be overclocked up to 82 Mh/s, while the Radeon RX Vega 64 only reaches about 45 MH/s and consumes more power.
While you will still be using your GPUs or ASICs, you have the choice to choose between mining in a pool, or by yourself, hence “solo” mining. Pool mining is where you join with a group of other miners and every miner contributes to mining blocks. The difference between this and solo mining is that your payouts are more consistent. Solo mining is hard, especially if you are running a small rig because you will most likely find a block for a very long time unless you get very lucky. You can use the Coin Warz calculator to estimate how long it will take you to mine a block by yourself. Another benefit of pool mining is that it’s more consistent. You will get your payments consistently, unlike solo mining where it may take a very long time to get your payout. I recommend the Ethermine.org and Nanopool.org pools, each have a large list of crypto-pools to choose from. You can also check if your rig is online here, as well as how much crypto you have mined.
Mining is the glue that holds Eethereum’s ‘decentralized app store’ together by ensuring that it comes to consensus on each change to any of the applications (dapps) running on the network. Essentially mining helps verify and validate transactions within Ethereum’s network.
Step 2: You need to unzip the GETH file and move it to a location on your hard drive. In this case we’ll move it to the hard drive, usually (C:) – which will make the next step easier. All you need to do is copy the file you have downloaded and unzipped and move it to the hard drive folder.
Here’s the only real drawback to this card: It’s an all-round excellent performer, so that mining demand has driven its price from the regular $400 range to over $700! If you’re able to find it at a lower price, don’t hesitate to snap it up.

Bitcoin remains the most visible and frequently traded cryptocurrency. After a remarkable surge in November 2017, it crested at just shy of $20,000 in late December 2017, and after settling in around $15,000 for a few weeks, shed another 50 percent of its value after South Korean regulators publicly mulled banning trading. The price of Litecoin, sometimes referred to as the “silver” to bitcoin’s “gold,” followed a valuation trend similar to bitcoin and now sits at around $160. Though all three have increased in value during the past 12 months, Ethereum has charted its own distinct path, spiking in June 2017 and surpassing $1,000 in early January 2018.
