Double click your Bat file to start the miner.  The miner will start, run the setx commands to set those environment variables, initialize each of your GPU’s, build the DAG file on each of your GPU’s and start hashing away.  Let it run for about 20 seconds and then click “s” to have it show your Hashing speed.  You can use that back in the calculator again to determine a more accurate representation of your earnings.   
Additionally, Ethereum plans with its next update tagged Serenity, to take out the concept of mining entirely and replace it with a new mechanism called Proof of Stake which will be powered by a consensus algorithm.
I kept the DCR but much of the Ether I sold and some as I still mine I hold to sell on price increases (didn’t loose too much doing this but didn’t make as much as I could of just holding till now). If I had kept all the ETH that would of been $3900 + the Decred that’s $4185. Which would put me almost break even. Taking into account realizing some revenue at lower ETH prices than today I wound up making around $1000 less. Keep in mind for about the first month my rig was at about half capacity as it is now (as it takes time to build and receive parts)
The Hash Rate can also refer to your miner’s performance. Today Bitcoin miners (those super powerful computers talked about in the video) come with different Hash Rates. Miners’ performance is measured in MH/s (Mega hash per second), GH/s (Giga hash per second), TH/s (Terra hash per second) and even PH/s (Peta hash per second).
A lot has been said about the Ethereum technology and how it works, but are you curious to know how to become a miner of ether. Mining sounds like a Stone age term but what it has to do in this Digital Age? No, we are not digging up earth to mine gold here but yes, we are digging software puzzles to get cryptocurrency Ether in return here. There are numerous ways to become a part of this network, let’s first precisely and briefly know what mining of ether will actually mean?
I would normally recommend using an Intel Atom motherboard. Unfortunately, no consumer-class Atom board offers full-sized PCIe x16 ports. Also, there’s some confusion regarding how much power the PCIe slot produces. According to its specifications, a PCIe x16 slot can deliver around 75 watts. That should be enough to handle the 75-watt draw of the 460, but some 460 manufacturers include an optional 6-pin connector — for added safety.
While I totally see yor point that most people might not want to invest 3,000$ in a space heater that you could spend 25$ on, that is not really adding anything to the point as to whether it costs electricity or not. It is a valid point in its own right, but completely outside of the scope of the current discussion.
– Despite what anyone says, CORE GPU CLOCK SPEED MATTERS! My cards hash better when overclocked. Overclocking GPU and/or RAM barely increases 1 or 2 megahashes and runs the card pretty hot for little gains. Balance needs to be struck.
No harm in trying you need A good power supply. If each gpu says it uses 250w* epect to add 10 % even 12% to its power demand. For fun try overclocking to see if your psu can survive the heat. and give its best performance b4 it fries.
A Radeon RX 470 offers you an average hash rate of 24.0MH/s. Its daily power cost is at $0.4320, with the cost per MH/s at $9.13. This model of GPU will give you a return per day of $1.15 and a return per year of $418.16. You will need to pay around $220 for Radeon RX 470.
The transition to the PoS-algorithm will allow to reduce energy costs as much as possible without requiring real resources, since it will not need large computing powers, and hence users with equipment. This means that miners will soon be obsolete. But while ETH mining remains traditional, ordinary users still have a chance to get a rapidly developing cryptocurrency on their wallet.
So for an RX 480 (a 580 in my case) we should be seeing a hash rate (basically how fast the computations are running) of 25.0 MH/s. My two AMD GPUs combined are only getting around 5.8 MH/s. I’m missing more than 80% of expected performance!
That’s what I mean though – FPGA + DRAM setups are way more expensive than GPUs in terms of MH/s per $. Scrypt was able to just break-even because the memory could fit on-die and there were time-memory-tradeoffs which are not present in Ethash.

The card should have at least 3 gigs of RAM or it won’t be able to properly mine Ethereum. This is due to the growing DAG file (directed acyclic graph) used in the Ethereum Proof of Work hashing process.

Mining originates from the gold analogy of the cryptocurrency sphere. In simple, cryptocurrency mining is a process of solving complex math problems. “Miners” are people that spend time and energy solving these math problems. They provide the solution to the issuers, who verify it and reward the miners with a block of Ether. Intuitively, an increase in mining difficulty means it becomes harder to solve complex problems, and therefore to fewer rewards. We’re at a current peak in Ethereum difficulty due to its very high demand and popularity.
Are they though? A GPU miner needs a motherboard, memory, CPU, hulking great power supply, and the GPU itself. FPGA you can get away with those hulking kilowatt dell power supplies that are like $30. That’s a lot of budget left over for a decent bin FPGA and some cheap DDR4 sticks from newegg, not to mention how much less power you’d be using over a GPU.
