you can buy a gtx 1070 used for the same price u can buy a used rx 480. the 1070 is better in everything, also in mining? is it worth for running the pc 14h with an 1070 on the limit? i hope amd bring this dumb mining cards asap on the market that all normal dudes can buy the nice midclass gpu’s for gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaims!!!!!!!!! i still can remember a time where the msi gaming x 8gb was available for 249 bucks and some other cards for 220. i havent see this shit comming, if so… i better bought some of this little suckers and make +100 bucks per card… i would call it “bitcoin-mining-gpu-mining” damn!
Start by decreasing your core clock speed to 1000 mhz from whatever the factory setting was (in the “GPU” area, change the values for state 6 and 7 to 1000 on the Frequency row). Click “Apply” (at the top right). Restart your miner and see how performance looks. There is a good chance that it’s unchanged. If that’s the case, repeat the process, but decrease the core clock speed by another 50 mhz or so. Keep moving down in 50 mhz increments until you notice mining performance drop. When that happens, bump the core clock back up to the previous value—that’s the sweet spot.
The  Nvidia GTX 1070   is what I’ve been putting in all the rigs I’ve built for folks since about April of 2017 when all the AMD Rx 4 and 5 series cards sold out and doubled in price on secondary markets. It can mine at 30Mh/s while sipping only 100 watts of electricity. After testing several models, my favorite is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC (model # GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD). It has a twin fan design and seems to run cooler than most of the other 1070 models I’ve tested. If that model is unavailable, any twin fan designed 1070 will work well. Blower models like the Gigabyte 1070 Founders Edition mine at the same hash rate, but need more supplemental cooling like a box fan pointed at your mining rig. I’ve linked to Amazon above, but be sure to check eBay as well for availability since Amazon often limits the number of GPU units you can purchase.
The recent drop in Ethereum prices may have hurt quite a few investors betting on the rise of cryptocurrency—but the digital coin is still a boon to investors of semiconductor stocks Nvidia (nvda) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

5. I’m a software developer, so I think I cannot help you to build your mining rig properly or provide you with the list of necessary parts, please ask this question here on forum or search here, there are many threads related to hardware.
An ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) is a microchip designed for a special application, such as a particular kind of transmission protocol or a hand-held computer. You might contrast it with general integrated circuits, such as the microprocessor and the random access memory chips in your PC. ASICs are used in a wide-range of applications, including auto emission control, environmental monitoring, and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
The other piece of the puzzle, of course, is making sure that the components are OPEN CL/CUDA device compatible, so that they interface with the current miners, and I don’t also have to write my own additional miner.  All in all, if it was truly a profitable venture, you would see someone with money to blow doing just that.
Of course, if you think Ethereum prices are going to rise precipitously, you might just want to buy some Ether. That requires a lot less research and work, and it could earn you a similar profit as mining. On the other hand, the price might drop considerably too, leaving you with a loss.
SharkMining was founded by BIZON company. BIZON is a Silicon Valley-based company specializing in software and hardware development of external graphics cards and high-end computers. 500+ companies trust BIZON (Tesla, Samsung, Google, Amazon, Oculus, Facebook, Stanford University). All the SharkMining rigs designed and assembled by the team of hardware and software engineers with 10 years experience.
It would take a lot of money and research to develop a new ASIC mining unit for Ethereum. Even though the altcoin’s algorithm is not ASIC-resistant by any means, there is no reason for companies such as Bitmain to explore ASIC ventures in the Ethereum ecosystem. That’s because there is a very real chance that Ethereum will switch to proof-of-stake in the near future, which would render any real mining efforts completely obsolete. When the switch to PoS will occur exactly has yet to be determined, though.
Ethereum is quite difficult to get mining on windows – although with a bit of help and following the tutorial below you can get it up and running and start your own ethereum mining project in 15 mins. We’re going to show you how to start mining Ethereum on your GPU and CPU with Windows 64 bit in this guide. You will need to download two programs and need to have a decent GPU with more than 1GB of memory to get the most bang for your buck in terms of mining as Ethereum works on a memory hard hashing technique which GPU’s are best at.
Ethereum plans to switch to Proof of Stake in 2018 which will eliminate mining slowly over time. But even if Ethereum is no longer mined you can find a new coin to mine, we checking out whattomine which will keep you in the know for highest ROI coins to mine.
After you done all that for the FIRST GPU, you can repeat the process for each other GPU, always keep an eye in HWinfo64 for memory errors, so  that you don’t have an unstable rig. The rig can work with a bunch of memory errors but that can cause:
If all of  your GPU’s on the RIG are the same, you can try to apply the profile settings that worked for the first GPU to the next GPU and test if it works, then try to adjust the small settings to reduce memory errors if you get them. It’s possible that the same GPU with the same settings will crash the PC or cause a freeze, that’s why you test one GPU at a time.
Hey guys, thanks for the fantastic guide. I have a windows 10 system with two nvidia GPUs. One is gtx 960 and the other is gt 710. I am using escavator for mining zcash. I m getting 127 H/s if i use only my gtx 960 GPU. When i added the second GPU, escavator does not read it, ( windows does), still getting 127H/s. How do i increase this? Any ideas pls.
The worst thing that could happen when once you’ve invested all the time and money involved in setting up your mining operation is a hardware failure or internet downtime. But when you mine with us, you can rest assured that any single piece of hardware failing does not mean the end of your operation thanks to scalability.
We just released browser based miner which works from Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Phones and even smart TV-s! You can select which mining pool to mine on. We support XMR, ETN and SUMO with more coins being added soon! Visit us at http://coinwebmining.com/coins-supported
@ursium not to be hostile but I think it’s pretty insulting to dismiss GPU miners, who are kind of the every-man of cryptocurrency at this point, as profit-hungry elite who are destined to “lose their lunch” with ASICS- despite prominent asic-resistant movements, of which you seem to be equally dismissive.
At the moment, the rewards are at 12.5 Bitcoins per one block. The reward began with 50 Bitcoins per block, and it has been lowered in every four years. It came down to  25 BTC/Block in 2012, 12.5 BTC/Block in 2016, and is expected to fall at 6.25 BTC/Block in 2020. This is what miners are supposed to get ready for.
