While Ethereum mining does not consume as much energy as bitcoin mining, it is necessary to have a powerful energy source. The power of the same will depend basically on the number of GPUs of the equipment and the power consumption of the same. For example, for a device with six NVIDIA GTX 1070 cards, a power supply of at least 1200W would be required.
“On the charity side, the first thing to say is that blockchain is not just about Bitcoin … Charities don’t need to be holding cryptocurrencies but focus on the underlying technology [to] solve problems.”
Thanks for your kind words. This will always make me feel good and I will write more guides. But as you asked about the software part of it. you can go with Windows and look for a mining software like claymore or if you want a simple mining interface you can go with minergate.
I have played the original aether this seems to be a quite bit odd terain generation compared to the original. The golden dungeon doesn’t have any golden leaves like they use to. I don’t remember blue or green clouds in the aether one. Did you just screenshot the aether II ?
Motherboard: You’ll need a motherboard that has enough PCIe x16 and PCIe x1 slots to support the ammout of graphics cards you plan on using in your rig. The Asrock H81 Pro BTC and Asrock H97 Anniversary, are both good boards to use, they are relatively cheap and they can support 6 graphics cards with PCIe x16 slot and 5 PCIe x1 slot. And you will need to buy a power button, obviously to turn on your rig.
Now replace “” with your Ethereum Wallet address (which starts with 0x…) so copy that from your other text file and paste it here.  Then replace “” with any name you would like to create for your miner.  We’ll use “MiningRig1” for our example, so you now have:
I agree- after the bombs start hitting it just isnt worth it to start unless you already have the hardware. Youre better of buying ethereum for the 20k as i take it you believe the price will keep rising or else you wouldnt look into mining?
“Thanks to CoinMiner I’m the proud owner of a 240Mh/s beast. It’s making money and a quick, secure return on investment with massive potential for increases. I love mining and am considering starting a mining farm.”
On Dec. 6 last year, for example, hackers penetrated NiceHash, the platform that introduced Mark to mining, and whisked away 4,736.42 bitcoin, worth more than $60 million based on the day-of price. Mark had returned to NiceHash after mining ether, but fortunately only lost roughly $300 of unpaid bitcoin. He immediately switched to using a different cryptomining marketplace. NiceHash froze its operations for two weeks.
If you’re familiar with the idea of cryptocurrency mining, you know that in order to keep a blockchain running smoothly, it takes a lot of computing power to verify new transactions. This process, known as mining, is currently used by both Bitcoin and Ethereum to maintain their blockchains.
Now you’re talking about difficulty increase of 100%, which with this rate is easily going to happen before summer, might even be by march. Hopefully price will increase as well, but at some point we’ll be seeing a saturated market (especially once ETH goes PoS), so your prediction here is that 12-18months payback period. While i’d not speculate more than 6-8 months in the future. Because we can’t possibly know what will happen once PoS happens.
But what do miners get in return for doing all the heavy lifting?  Ether reward coins.  The catch is that mining tends to require more and more power over time, as more people invest in more powerful hardware.  This is called mining difficulty and increases exponentially with the number of people mining and competing for their Ether reward.
Your original link to amazon which included the picoPSU with an adapter is no longer available (404 page). Can you provide the optimal power brick adapter (link to product or recommended specifications) for use with the picoPSU 160xt in this build please?
My PSUs don’t have six PCI-E connectors. I have used adapter to squeeze out 2 additional ones on each, but I made sure that every cards a least gets a main PCI-E power connector (ie. two cards 1x PCI-E from PSU and 1x through adaptor, one card 2x PCI-E from PSU. If you have different cards, try to make the stronger ones having the two original PCI-E lines). Do not mix PCI-E lines between adaptors, keep them separated, ie. PSU1 will power cards 1-3, PSU2 will power cards 4-6. I advise using those risers with USB cables, I have both the types of risers and bought twice.

I am a newbie in crypto currencies knowledge, but I wanted to ask ppl with more experience in the mining world a few questions. I have a decent amount of capital on hand to buy/rent a warehouse. I would also be able to buy 20k or so worth of hardware to mine with. How profitable is mining for ethereum? I’ve had many ppl (with limited knowledge) tell me it’s nearly impossible to turn a profit nowadays. I’ve had others tell me it’s highly profitable. If it’s not profitable why would ppl still mine it lol? Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Davies does admit, however, that the reputation of cryptocurrencies as early vehicles for money laundering and criminality has placed regulatory barriers that may slow the adoption of blockchain. But he adds that this may change as banks now adopt the technology for reconciling complex transactions.

I really hate how Aether decided they will be a closed mod. I will never play it no matter how good it become. For me the point is to have a customizable game that I decide what content and rules I want, not someone else decide it for me.
For at gøre dette muligt, minedrift Lommeregner blander den kraftfulde matematisk algoritme af den velkendte OneCoin Split regnemaskine med en state of the art & touch baseret grafisk brugergrænseflade.
So obviously we are still at a very early stage in the crypto world, and once people start pouring into cryptocurrencies and blockchain social networks I think we will see a completely different world entirely.
I noticed a bug that i would very much appreciate being fixed. items that are on an item frame turn green and you cant see what item it actually is bc of the discoloration. I also noticed that sometimes player models of other players also turn green and unrecognizable.
Mining is an ROI game–anyone who mines only at a loss is already quite rich :). I understand you can use this PC for more than just mining, so that’s really great. If ROI was not an aim, then yeah, this rig is well suited for other tasks besides mining. Just don’t say you wanted the best, most profitable mining rig–this is not that that rig.
High Jerry nice vid! Do you think a top of the range AMD graphics card from 3 years ago would still be good to mine with today? I did a tiny bit of mining back then but since then the graphics card has hardly been used.
Motherboards with on-board graphics (also referred to as integrated graphics) often are either problematic or unusable when more than one GPU card is installed. Choose a motherboard with no on-board graphics.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with mining ETH, EXCEPT, how its going to come to a screeching halt in Nov. I feel terrible I couldn’t get involved sooner. I literally just remembered about cryptos a few weeks ago, and by then, late to the party. I’ll squeeze out MAYBE 3 coins by Nov. if im lucky. Price needs to fall for a bit, please!? 🙂
Step 9 — Check all your connections and cable management. Mining rigs are known for being not that stable and prone to weirdness and fire etc, so it’s a really good idea to check all of your connections and make sure that everything is secure. You should have power cables running from the PSU to the SSD, the GPUs, the GPU powered risers, the CPU port on the motherboard, and the motherboard via its big power cable. And once you know for sure all of these are lined up and connected correctly, you can mount your PSU somewhere on the rig.
