What you proposed would be true if production was down, but it’s not. What we’d want to see is cards cathering dust on the shelves at retail stores. What’s happening right now is the worst possible realistic screnario when it comes to the difficulty.
Once you have the CPU actually seated and installed properly on the motherboard, you need to connect the CPU fan to the motherboard. Cool rig, have fun mining! :o) I mined coins heavily with ASICs a couple years ago as a business investment (and again on my new custom home built PC for over a month when Ethereum went live), and this is what I found the most important thing to include when calculating ROI: http://etherscan.io/charts/difficulty
Miners expend electricity hashing that block with the processing power of their GPU(s). A successful hash result produces produce a unique Proof of Work (PoW) proving that the miner worked on that block.
2) Graphics Card – Pick your GPUs! Some graphics cards cost a fortune but don’t hash much whilst some are more reasonable but use more power. Ultimately its a balance between how powerful you want your rig to be and how much you want to spend – but a word to the wise – make sure you pick an efficient GPU. You can buy second hand GPU’s from reputable providers such as GPU Shack – be careful though when you buy them off a street corner as often they have problems that you won’t see until you get the card home and plugged in.
There is few graphics card that cost a lot but does not produce a lot of hashing power. In comparison to our cheap mining rig, I have gone with GTX 1060. This ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 is a 6GB DDR5 graphics card.

Yes yes and yes. I’m 100% with you here. The issue is if the difficulty currently keeps increasing as it has, there will be no 6 or 8 month ROI it will never come. Unless it really really flattens out it will be infinity ROI for any miner getting in now unless they’re getting their GPU’s for $120/card or so. And yeah we’ve discussed this before and it ultimately comes down to the fact that no one knows the future so it’s all about what you think will happen.
Your resale on the Fury’s will be higher but you’re efficiency/dollar is terrible with this rig. You’d have been waaaay better off getting (2) 7990s – at around $650 and they have the best MH/s per Watt. Your rig is pretty but seems like a total waste of cash.
A quick question: So you’re saying that setting the MC to 600 Mhz gives you a hashrate of 30mh/s? I have a R9 390 8 GB (I’ve been testing it out for Ether mining before I invest in building a multi gpu system), and my MC/CC is set to 1500/1000 mhz and gives me around 30 mh/s. When I overclock it to 1675/1185, it gives me around 34 Mh/s… (Claymore, Win 7 64 bit OS).. temp stays between 60-70 degrees C.
