“Mining Ethereum is really complicated and I wanted the simplest solution. Luckily I found CoinMiner who sent a rig to me 1 week after ordering and all I needed to do was turn it on. Fantastic system and I’m planning to buy more.”
For the first time, I am building a ethereum mining rig myself and now I want to share my experience with you. For the case, I have used a very simple wood construction for less than 10€. Here is the sketch:
The Mist package contains the Ethereum wallet which you’ll need to receive any mining profits. Mist also includes an Ethereum browser with various functions, such as messaging and a social network and tutorials. As a tip, these tutorials and the social network are helpful learning resources. Don’t be scared to ask the Ethereals if you’re experience difficulty with any part of this process.
Hydro Quebec, the power company that provides power for the province of Quebec, publishes an annual survey of power utility rates in North America. With Hydro Quebec’s data, we built a table that illustrates how much your electricity cost affects the viability of mining. As it stands, my miner draws 935W from the wall, which works out to 673kWh per month. At the current utility rate in my local market, I would pay roughly $40 for the electricity that the system would burn in a month. Make sure to calculate your estimated power draw and figure out what your power rate is before jumping into crypto mining. For example, that same mining machine in New York would cost $136.90 to operate for the same period.
The device is marginally different as it offers a slightly slower hash-rate of 24 MH/s. It comes out into the markets with a 4GB Graphic Card RAM. The daily power cost of this GPU stands in at $0.4320, with the cost per MH/s at $9.13.
I definitely think we should talk. I can go over a lot of my stuff but that would require audio/video if you want the full presentation and details (a lot of it is visual and hard to describe in text). What do you prefer? Here are the places I’m active that might suite: Phone, Email, Skype, Freenode IRC, Most major social networks, etc. Skype would be best for the full presentation but we can start with whatever works.

The thing is Ethereum is the cryptocurrency which is ASIC resistant; i.e you cannot mine it with any ASIC you will have to mine it with graphics cards. I have also inserted Amazon links as it may help you buy them.
I’ll continue to scour for deals and add a card or two here and there for the right price, but I won’t pay over $280 for a card unless it’s a 580 8gb or 1070+ in which I have no NVIDIA cards at the moment anyway, and then I won’t go much higher or I’ll just pass up the deal and be happy where I’m at.
My guess is that in the long run you could make a profit from Bitcoin mining but only if you invest a considerable amount of money in a good mining rig (e.g. Antminer s9). If you don’t have the time or the money – stay away from mining and just invest in buying Bitcoins for the long run.
Hi Bhavesh, OK, this seems to be a fairly common error but it’s beyond my capabilities to diagnose precisely from that log. I’ve seen a variety of solutions to this issue proposed on various forums: https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/18806/couldnt-connect-to-node/23153#23153 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/2426 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/wiki#unable-to-find-peers I suggest starting with the simple solutions first before trying the more advanced stuff. So if using Windows, start things up in Administrator mode. Then try starting Geth manually with the –nat=none flag. Then try starting from the command line as someone suggested. You can also backup your data directory, rename / move it, and let the wallet resync itself… From there,… Read more »
